Super quick boot ups because the os is on the SSD. Playing games like gta v, tomb raider and the Batman Arkham games with smooth FPS. Not running into any bottlenecking with resources, with my led headset and mouse. Only complaint is the fans are loud-ish.

Bought this and my very first Alienware and can’t say anything bad about it! The only thing is that the cpu water cooling devise wasn’t included as advertised only an aluminum shroud and a small fan so I purchased on from eBay and all is great now. I included a picture of the cpu water cooler.

I bought this computer to replace my previous Alienware desktop that was starting to show it's age. I'm not good at building one myself, so I looked at this item from a perspective of what I wanted in a modern gaming computer. You have your 9th Gen i7, an RTX 2060 and a 256 M2 drive. Just those components alone would warrant an above average price, but I got this computer at a closeout of about $800. That was a steal. I thought about upgrading the RAM, which I could easily do. I don't think I need to do that right away because the computer is speedy without the extra RAM due to it's M2 drive. The processor handles everything I throw at it from my workflow, being a server, and of course, gaming. The 2060 is not shy about what it can do. Graphics are crisp and fast. Coupled with the i7, I haven't found a game it can't handle. Add on that I have a server working in the background, it's like have 2 or 3 computers in one. The case is smaller than average. I needed that because of the space it's in. Opening the case, things are a little cramped, but still laid out in way that's functional. There is very little noise even though it's a standard air cooling system, and that's OK for me. In short, I needed a beefy computer to use for work and play, and this computer fit the bill. I don't think it needs upgrades in the near future, but if I wanted to, I can rest easily that this computer is easy enough to upgrade.

This being my second Alienware computer I've bought, coming from the R3 now to the R8, I can say its a massive upgrade in performance and design. Powering it up and using it, it's very fast and runs everything exactly as you would expect. The design of the case I am also a big fan of compared to the R9's redesign. A few things I wasn't a so happy with, was the stock fans on this computer. They are incredibly loud and don't do a very good job keeping the computer running at good temperatures. Since I've bought it, I've replaced the stock CPU cooler with a Corsair H60 liquid cooler, and replaced the case fans with the 120mm Be Quiet! Fans, and since then, the temperatures are way more reasonable and noise levels are nearly silent. Highly recommend going that route if you have the stock intel cooler. I also went ahead and changed the PSU from the stock 425 watt to a 700 watt, and changed the 2060 for a 2070 Super. Now this machine runs cooler, quieter and even faster then when I originally bought it. I will also admit, working inside this case is not so fun with the compact, crammed interior of it and because of that, the temperatures will always be hotter than if you had a bigger and better airflow case. But overall, I think it was worth it. Could have been a bit better for the price, but still a great prebuilt PC.

This is my second Alienware desktop. Very powerful and easy to expand. I had an Alienware R6 that sustained water damage, so I decided on the R8. It is a noticeable step up from the R6 which I loved. There are two open bays for SSD drives. I was able to salvage my SSD drive from my R6 and was able to install with all my games still on it very easily. I had read a lot of negative comments about the loud fan. When I first purchased the machine the fan was very loud. It really did sound like a vacuum cleaner. There have been a number of updates and the noise has since stopped. I am not sure if that is the reason. The quality of the graphics is really noticeable. I play a couple of older games. Warhammer 40k Dawn of War is a 2006 game and the difference between playing it on the R8 and the R6 is night and day. I really like the machine and highly recommend it.

I got my unit as a open box demo unit for a great price so far haven't had any problems i can play every single one of my games at ultra settings 1440p like the new Call of duty modern warfare, overwatch, apex, and even minecraft all run very smoothly sadly this computer configuration didn't come liquid cooled and this case is really designed for liquid cooling that's my only problem with it so far and upgrading the cpu fan here in the near future

I was quite iffy about buying this PC because of the previous reviews that had been left on the product but I’m glad to say I’ve had little to no issues! It’s extremely easy to open and customize (I added more RAM and an extra SSD). The small issue I came across was the loud fans but after a quick google search I fixed the issue and rarely hear the fan. If the product is ever on sale in the future and you’re looking to buy a prebuilt PC, this is a great choice.

Overall with the RTX 2060 gpu, no issues running the latest titles with reasonable framerates at 1440p resolution at very high/ultra settings. The cpu is air cooled though so it does get toasty (i.e. >90c at full load) and the stock fan is really loud even with normal light usage. I found that updating to the latest bios along with AW Command Center updates led to some reduction in CPU fan noise. In the future, I'd be looking to install a 120mm AIO to help lower the temperature and fan noise even more as the chassis and system seems to be upgrade friendly. Lastly, I've noticed some minor coil whine coming from the GPU as well so with these in mind, I'd rate the system 4/5.

after having a dell pc for almost 10 years that i got in highschool i needed an upgrade, as it still had a gts 240 graphics card. so i did some research and decided to get this one. this is my second pc that i have owned, and i love it. still getting used to it but it seems to be working out great. Good specs, can run warthunder at high end settings and has like 200-300 fps. the fan can be a tad loud but i dont mind much and if i do i saw a way in the reviews and questions to fix that. overall i love this pc so far and would recommend this pc to anyone looking to get a new pc.

I purchased this pc and overall I was happy with it. The pc ran very well and was easy to set up and get running and playing games on it. The major problem and why I ultimately returned it was the fan noise which is very very noticeable. The way the command center is set up the fan goes from 0 to 100 and is very loud like a plane taking off. The other reviews said the same thing and they are very true.

Runs most games at max settings. Runs dozens of programs without slowdown. Starts up in seconds thanks to ssd, 256mb fills up quick though when the os is taking up a chunk of it. Will change out my most used games at the time from my standard HD to the ssd for quicker load times. When the fan kicks on though, it sounds like a jet engine.

Fast but noisy and put outs a lot of heat. Great for gaming

Fast. Quality. Reliable. Just some of the things I'd say about this personal computer. It will do just about anything. If there's one drawback, it's how loud it is. But that's because it's keeping cool, man. I mean, it really blows! But that cool air means it's going to run strong and long.

Best gaming computer for the money. Fast enough, great graphics. Easy to use.

This is my first PC. I am a Mac user for 16 years and this computer is really fast. Upgrading is easy, just like the old Macpro. The first time that I used it's loud, but after the BIOS update it became quiet. I highly recommend this PC.

The model I bought had a 2060 video card, and was able to play all games comfortably at 1080p, as I was expecting. The thing I was not expecting at all was the tremendous amount of fan noise. The amount of noise that comes out of the front fan during very low loads is completely absurd. An example; I will have 2 browser windows open, any time I switch between the two the fan noise spikes to the sound of a vacuum, just for a second, then settles back down. During any gaming, the fans would sound like vacuums about 50% of the time. Alienware machines have AlienwareControlCenter (AWCC) that is supposed to somewhat remedy this, since in that program you can add your own fan speed curves. However, the software does not work whenever there is a load on the system, the fans override the curves and begin to sound obnoxiously loud again. Any attempt at updating the software fails. You can visit dell forums on this, simply search “AWCC update fail”. At this moment, the machine costs $1599. I was able to return this machine and buy myself all the components to build a superior machine, at the same price. You can easily build a 2070 machine at a lower price. Please, do not buy this machine. Save your money and time. I’m giving it 2 stars since technically the machine did function correctly, it was just too loud for comfort.

I picked up the unit on clearance for a great price. After some dell bios Updates the Pc is quiet and fast. Highly recommended for 1080p and 1440p gaming.

So hard to choose when you have the time. Employees were available to talk to, This was available new and used. I trust Best Buy when making used purchases. The over all build was above and beyond basic game usage. Good heat distribution. Noise level was as expected. Performance is very good. Case is adaptable. If a friend with no pc buying experience asked for help. This is what I would recommend and then see them again in 10 years with the same plee for help. Faster and enough storage space for more than what most people need and want.

Nice specs on sale. Rtx 2060 gpu is fast and future proof for the next couple years. Running all games on ultra and getting 100 plus FPS.

This computer is great and has awesome specs but the fans are super loud and I freeze every so often in the games I play, which is pretty annoying. The fans can be so loud that it sounds like a leaf blower.
