This is my review of the new Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, Amazon's newest and largest (at 11 inches) Kindle e-reader. The Scribe Colorsoft is not a tablet in the average sense, like a Fire, Samsung Tab or an Apple iPad even though it resembles them in general appearance. The Colorsoft is a device that uses a front lit Kaleido 3 color e-paper display. Since the tech behind the screen is different, the colors the Scribe produces are not as vivid or vibrant as the traditional tablet, but for someone wanting or needing a device that is easier to read for longer sessions causing less eyestrain, the Scribe Colorsoft is ideal. As well as reading, the Scribe Colorsoft is also a writing device. It comes with the Scribe Premium Pen and five extra pen nibs included. The pen does not need to be charged since it operates elecromagnetically with the device screen. The pen and screen combintion, with its anti-glare coating, produce a more satisfying writing feel than an iPad or similar tablet. As this is the 3rd generation Scribe the note taking capabilities have improved immensely. Folder managment has also been improved over the original Scribe. AI features of the Scribe include converting handwriting to text in several different styles and also summarizing either a notebook page or an entire notebook. These features work very well and are fairly quick. Another highly useful feature is word search in your handwritten notes. Hand writing recognition is very accurate. More AI features are slated to be added in future updates. I am giving the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft my highest recommendation since I believe it is the best implementation of the Kaleido color e-ink technology to be found at this time.

I would give a full 5 stars if the price I purchased at was the real price. However, I got it deeply on sale. I love this device but Amazon has made it a bit clunky in terms of imports. For example, I am editing my work and each time I’ve added writing I import a new version of the same document. You cannot change the name once it’s on the device so I never know which edit I am opening. The other issue I found frustrating is the process of purchasing books and having them show up on your device. This process is also clunky and it has confusing naming for ‘kindle books’ and ‘books’. It’s as if there’s separate sections but it’s not exactly clear what goes where. I still don’t even fully understand it to explain clearly on this review. This is more of a fault of Amazon and not the device itself. Aside from these issues, I’ve enjoyed my kindle. This is my first kindle ever and I had been looking at it regularly waiting for it to go on sale. The color is amazing, and it is great on the eyes. I feel refreshed after using it unlike an iPad or computer. It is a device in its own category, there is nothing quite like what it focuses on providing. It’s great for notes and journaling. The screen feels closest to writing on paper when compared to an iPad. Its battery life is AMAZING. I never worry about power. I love it overall so far. If you’re looking for an iPad this is not for you. If you’re looking for a journal, reading device, and hands on editing machine this is it!

I love it! Ive never had anything like it before. I bought it just to read the bible before I go to sleep. I love that you are able to make notes and it saves all of them on the page itself and on a separate notes page. Im sure I will start reading other things as well because it makes it very easy to read anywhere at anytime and the battery last fir a very long time.

My Kindle has totally upgraded my reading! It's distraction-free, comfortable with its big, light screen, and has amazing battery life. The highlighting and note-taking features are a huge plus. Highly recommend for any book lover!

it has a very high-quality screen that feels comfortable when writing on it. It’s productive for both taking notes and reading books. The Workspace allows me to organize all my documents and notebooks as Kindle always prioritize reading over notetaking. I hope there will be more notetaking features coming out soon.

哎呀So, I absolutely love this product.I had to exchange it a couple of times, and that has nothing to do with Best Buy itself or the product. I just got a couple of defective units, and working in tech, I know that happens. But finally, I got one that didn't have a screen abnormality. I'm just going to tell you, I love taking notes on this thing. I love reading books. It really does lend to the fact that if you just need to focus on the task at hand, like reading, you don't have to worry about doom scrolling because you're only going to get the options that the device was made for.

I bought this to write. I find the interface to send very easy. I was able to convert to text. I can file easily in folders. The writing stylus is very comfortable.

We purchased a remarkable scribe first and it was a miserable thing to set up and once set up, it was miserable for My Wife to use as there was constant constant ghosting on every page she constantly had to reset the screen constantly had to do things to get the screen to clear just to view her images after purchasing this Kindal color soft scribe. It absolutely works flawlessly and is amazing.

This is the best Kindle i have had so far. The color is great the size is nice . It is user friendly. I am still finding new features i didnt know it had!

This little notebook is awesome! Handled all of my note taking tasks with ease and holds all of my ebooks!!

I had the previous version of scribe, which I loved. Love this one even more. I particularly like the slightly smaller form; for me, it’s easier to hold. Screen is still easy to read and responsive. Was it ridiculously expensive? Yes. Would I buy it again? Yes.

I absolutely enjoy the Kindle Color Scribe, while i prefer the quality and feeling of the pencil on the Remarkable, the Kindle is cheaper, works perfectly with my kindle library and audiobooks without any hastle. Besides that, I like that it does not need to refresh every second like the scribe at every pencil stroke. The only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is that this kindle is not water resistent like they are on the traditional pocket Kindle. Take it to the pool at your own risk…

I purchased for my wife on mothers days. She keeps alot of notes for work. Her boss asked her how she was able to keep all the jobsite info notes and contractors all up to date and prepared for her meetings. She said by this... and has been very organized uses it daily.

great e-reader and note taker. Color is not as bright as I expected and price is too high. If you can get if on sale, then it is worth it.

The Colorsoft Kindle Scribe exceeded expectations for my wife, she upgraded from her old Scribe,( and gave that on to me!) and so far loves it!

I would recommend it to anyone looking to take notes and minor details on meetings. It’s still a bit laggy and the refresh rate isn’t great. For the price you pay it should be up there with the tablets on that price range but it’s not. Depends on what you’re using it for, but fast paced work environment it falls short.

Very good. And a big upgrade from previous generations.

I love it other than the price especially the case for $125. It’s definitely better than the last version but I can’t figure out how to read comics correctly on it yet.
