They’re very solid - very high quality, as you should expect given the price. Ultimately if you buy the monitor that goes with this stand, it’s to be expected. These monitors and stands aren’t for your typical consumer - they’re for the high end and are priced as such.

When Apple tries charging you 100x cost start looking elsewhere.

I wouldnt be surprised if the screws were to come separate too eventually. This is obviously not worth the price that they are charging! What a scam! Does not have the feel of a 1,000 dollar STAND.

So yes the stand is over priced, but if youe buying the 5 to 6 grand Monitor your not going to buy an off brand stand. And if your going to mount it to something else, you’re going to buy the $200 VESA mount. I like the whole Apple style, and if I was getting that monitor I would want the nice Apple stand to go with it. 

Leave it to Apple to make something this expensive

I showed a friend who runs a metal work shop and makes custom parts for customers/replacements for customers..He said materials and labor alone would cost him about $200...$200 5x less then apples price
