This laptop honestly handles pretty much everything ive thrown at it. I wanted something asus partially for sentimental reasons, dumb I know. But my father had this ASUS gaming laptop he got back in 2013, massive machine, that still runs to this day. Maybe not for games from today, but it still runs well. When he got his I knew one day I’d want my own, so it has been kind of a dream of mine since I was a child. But anyway, I first got the ASUS Zephyrus g16 I believe, but the 2023 version. It ran so hot, but thats to be expected with such a thin laptop with even a 4060 in it. I then moved onto the Alienware M16 r2 which I kind of hated. I loved it and hated it. I didnt like the software. It wasnt a bad laptop by any means, I just didn’t like it. That one had a 4070 in it and one of the intel ultra chips so it ran a lot cooler. But it still didn’t have the power I was hoping for. So I finally decided to just spend the money on the one I wanted all along, and there are no regrets. Ive had this laptop since around May or June and its been my daily driver for everything but work, mostly just because the screen is so nice I like to have movies or something on in the background while I work. I use this for gaming as well, and I have had everything set on the highest settings with no issues. I dont play FPS games, but I have zero doubts anyone who does will have any issues either. The only issues I reallt run into are with the RGB and the ASUS armoury crate and aura creator clashing with windows. Sometimes a windows update will leave the RGB useless for a while unless you uninstall the update and wait a while to update things. Or sometimes there may be issues when updating armoury crate and aura creator, so a vice versa kind of thing. But it happens often enough where the RGB isnt on. This is kind of a bigger deal for me personally because I customize the lighting of the keyboard in a way to match the controls for the games I play and have various different ones set up I switch between. Even some that will show me by color roughly how hot the cpu/gpu is or how used those components are. Besides thet issue, its amazing. That really is just a software issue over a hardware issues though. The fans are loud, but I personally don’t mine that like others do. And it pushes out A LOT of hot air, but that is to be expected given the machine itself. The only other thing I would recommend is getting a keyboard cover. There are some issues that come with using one, but if you have pets I highly recommend this. There is a fan that pulls hot air through the keyboard to keep things cool and it does a wonderful job. That being said however, as I am sure you can imagine, it pulls in dust, hair, etc in the process and it is hard to get out of the keyboard. Best advice is to keep it clean from the get go. I tend to remove the keyboard cover when gaming on high settings. But anyway this is an amazing device, and if you can get it discounted its even more well worth it if you like asus products and asus software.

I’ve been using the ASUS ROG Strix 18 for a while now, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The 14th Gen Intel Core i9 combined with the RTX 4080 delivers absolutely amazing performance — games run flawlessly at ultra settings, and multitasking is effortless. The 18” QHD 240Hz display is stunningly sharp and smooth, making everything look incredibly vivid. The build quality feels premium, and even under heavy load, the cooling system keeps temperatures in check without getting too loud. The 32GB of RAM and 2TB SSD provide plenty of power and storage for both gaming and productivity. Overall, this laptop is worth every dollar. If you’re looking for a powerful, future-proof gaming machine, this one is a beast!

I am absolutely thrilled with my new gaming laptop! This device is a beast, delivering incredibly smooth performance that has exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I started using it, I knew I had made the right choice. The laptop's powerful processor and ample RAM handle even the most demanding games with ease, providing a seamless and immersive gaming experience. The graphics capabilities are equally impressive, with crisp and vibrant visuals that bring games to life in stunning detail. I've been able to play all my favorite titles at high settings without any lag or stuttering, which is a testament to the laptop's exceptional performance. What's more, the laptop's design and build quality are top-notch. The keyboard is comfortable and responsive, with customizable backlighting that adds a nice touch. The display is bright and vibrant, with good viewing angles and a fast refresh rate. Overall, I'm thoroughly enjoying my new gaming laptop and would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a powerful and reliable gaming device.

I've been on a Mac for 18 plus years so it was a shock switching to a PC. I wanted to make sure whatever I got would be powerful like my Mac but I needed it to be more for gaming than designing. I went back and forth on what brand to go with and in the end, my choices ended up being the Lenovo Legion, the Alienware, and this ASUS. Price is a factor but this time around I decided that I would go all out and get a specked-out machine as I wanted to make sure it would last for a long time. ASUS had the best laptop for what I was wanting. I knew the i9 14gen and the 4080 was a must. I would have rather had the 4090 but this laptop had the best bang with the 32gb ram and 2TB hard drive. The only way to get the 4090 in an ASUS was switching to the Scar and the spec difference in the two didn't justify the price for me. This 240hz screen is super bright and has a Beautiful color array all my games so far just looks stunning. I don't know what they're doing with their display or the software but they got it right. The laptop starts up extremely fast powers up when it needs to be. The battery is not the best. I'm used to extremely long battery life with my Mac. The battery life on this is actually pretty sad but it's a gaming laptop so it's expected it has a good amount of ports but I think I would've preferred a few more thunderbolt or USB-C ports as that's where everything is going the one flaw that I have with this laptop is its design. The hinges seem strong, but they're ugly. The body isn't bad but it's not sleek when you look at Apple laptops or razors laptops you can see what I'm talking about with a design even the Lenovo legion has a sleek design. Everybody's different and I'm sure people will find the design of the laptop to be stunning, but for me, it just sticks out like a sore thumb, but on the other hand, the performance justifies this weird look to me if you're looking for a powerhouse laptop that can play anything you throw at it and probably will be able to for quite some time at an affordable price. This one right here is by far amazing.

You get what you pay for. I added an additional M.2 4TB SSD to the laptop and removing the bottom panel was pretty easy. If you're wondering if you can add a M.2 SSD with a pre-install heatsink, I would definitely measure beforehand since the clearance is somewhat iffy. I used a custom made heatsink with a thermal pad and copper plate that had a low peofile, no bigger than the SSD itself. Performance wise, the laptop does what it is suppose to do. It performs well with triple A titles depending on how much you're willing to exert the settings of the game and laptop. However, make sure you invest in a laptop fan cooling pad/pad. It still surprise me that current generation laptop do not have pop-out legs/stands so the bottom fans isn't congested. The fan noise is tolerable but can get extremely loud (kind of expected from a laptop). If you usually play with earphones then you can disregard this information. Get this laptop if you're planning to replace your desktop for mobility purposes. The specs is nothing crazy and remember that the 4080M is not similar to the desktop 4080 variant. The CPU is onpar to how it should perform. The screen is cool but it is nothing to boast about, especially for it's price. Again, get a laptop cooling pad/cooler because it gets hot pretty fast, especially for longevity purposes unless money isn't a problem for you. Expect to be on the charger majority of the time if you want to play games on the highest performance. I'll give this laptop approximately five years of revelancy before it becomes obsolete with more spec demanding games. Overall, it's a decent laptop that performs well for what I need it for.

BEAST of a PC. Powerful, quick and relaible. Battery life not perfect but what can you expect from a 4080? Got this laptop for Architecture school and I couldn't be more pleased. Handles Lumion, CAD, Sketchup, Revit and others with EASE. The RGB keyboard could be a bit brighter and the speakers could be louder as well. Also, 2 USB A ports is a bummer. Overall, the ROG Strix G18 a massive BANG for your buck.

I've owned this for a year and so far I've been pretty satisfied with this machine. The screen is magnificent, it might be a bit saturated, but I still enjoy it. Trackpad and keyboard work well and I like some of the features on the keyboard. However, the keyboard is a dust and fingerprint magnet. I do minimal gaming on this machine, but when I do, things have run very nicely. Oddly it's when I'm not gaming that the machine seems to misbehave. It sometimes freezes for a very brief moment or takes longer than expected to respond after a click/selection. Overall I am happy with this purchase and hope this one lasts as long as my ASUS G73.

AFTER Liquid metal repaste, this thing is OVERPOWERED! IT IS KILLER! I run Fortnite at 550fps, unreal engine, 3d modeling software and 500 chrome tabs at once. This thing does not slow down! Comes in a beautiful box. All USBC ports linked to the GSYNC GPU. I have (2) 4tb Samsung pro NVMe m.2 drives total 8,TB of memory. I upgraded to 64gb ddr5 5600 Ram from original 32gb. I undervolted a little in the bios. Keeps the temps at 80° C under full load on the CPU. GPU temps around 50°C under full load. This thing is crazy. I love love love it! I have had it one month. I have a 100tb server and this wifi card is SO FAST. I TRANSFER so many backups all the time and 3d models and videos and it flys. Armory crate actually works wonderful on this! Unlike my previous model Asus tuf f17. I can't explain how fast this thing is. First thing I did was uninstall ONEDRIVE. TRUST ME. ITS MICROSOFTS VIRUS. It will login and upload storage to cloud and say memory full, if that happens it forces you to remove everything from your computer. Then you have to download from the cloud and hope everything synced to it. Asus is so amazing tho! They replaced my last laptop when it wasn't under warranty!!! They just replaced it. They Paid shipping and everything. Don't update to windows 24h2! The power plans will screw up and force "efficiency" power plans, what do power plans do? Voltage = heat. 24h2 Efficiency mode in new windows update WILL overheat any CPU in all computers and override your temp settings. Stay with 23h2 windows 11 update and don't update. The keyboard is amazing sturdy and lights are better than any previous models. The led light on the front is nice. The screen! Omg it's so bright, it is so colorful. It is like super high definition and my games don't have blur! It's like crystal clear. I LOVE THIS LAPTOP I've been on it fine tuning my program transfers for a month and I'm so thankful for the quality put into the entire computer.

I bought it back in Jul 24, 2024 Not going to lie its prolly the best gaming laptop I have ever put my hands on. -Call of duty 200+fps -Fortnite (ultra 120+fps /low-mid 200+fps) -Star Citizen FPS varies 30-70 depending on location -Gray Zone Warfare 80-140 fps depending on location and foliage -Marvel Rivals 180-200 fps I did my research prior to purchasing the laptop with my previous Gaming devices being a Allienware 2070 super (Desktop) & console (ps5/series X) & the G18 does not disapoint! Extra note: Battery is good for eco mode with GPU off and in silent mode (5 hours of web and video NOT GAMING) -other than than when gaming i always have it plugged in and in performance mode or Turbo (fans speed up)

Beyond quick, can run multiple programs, while maintaining zero lag on any online P2P game. The screen is excellent for movies. It can do it ALL.

Best bang for the buck, especially if you can catch it on sale. Worked perfectly out of the box and super simple to set up with Windows 11. All ASUS ROG STRIX parts inside how can you go wrong, paired with more than ample storage and memory and a stunning display. 5 out of 5

Computer is running great! My husband enjoys gaming on the laptop, and it’s been great but. Doesn’t over heat and the graphics are great. Needs to stay plugged in when gaming.

I love the machine for what I am using it for. School work, and the occasional few hours of gaming. I would let anyone who is wondering know ahead of time, it's massive. It's bigger than your lap. Unless you have a big lap. In terms of portability it's should receive 0 stars BUT if you are buying this machine for portability you already messed up. You are buying this beast because you want the type of power that starts wars. Tom cruise would run on a runaway being chased by helicopters carrying bmw's firing tomahawk missiles for this type of power. Also the lights are cool. It's not as noisy as I expected. Charge brick is kinda cumbersome.

This is my first gaming laptop. Received this open box because it was a fairly good deal considering the hardware. I immediately installed a '96 GB crucial ddr5 RAM kit 5600, as well as heatsinks on both sides of the RAM sticks and heatsink enclosures on both SADs ( had a Samsung 990 Pro 4 TB in it when I received the unit). Everything has worked great so far, I primarily use it for school, running multiple different simulation and programming softwares for electrical engineering and robotics coursework, but I have also ran a few games off Xbox game pass and cloud gaming just to see how it performs and haven't seen any issues off the bat. Overall from the reviews and research I've been seeing it seems like the best deal on the market right now since anything on the market with my current specs is over $3,000.

Runs cool though when fans are going it is a little loud, this is well worth it. Can play both PC games ans Xbox Ultimate really well.

This laptop is a beast! Only issue I've had is the lighting of the keyboard can be a little glitchy and you have to mess around with the settings to get it to work right again. The monitor is crazy good, on par or maybe even better than my QLED TV. I use it plugged in so I can't attest to the battery life, I'm assuming it's pretty terrible as gaming laptops usually are.

Very fast and meets my gaming needs. Display is great. A bit heavy but expected with an 18-inch laptop.

Great build quality. Beautiful screen. Powerful enough to tackle everything I throw at it.
