Sublime formed in 1988 in Long Beach, California by vocalist/guitarist Bradley Nowell, bassist Eric Wilson, and drummer Bud Gaugh. By the time it came to record this major tag debut, Nowell had been struggling with a heroin addiction. Sublime was recorded over a period of three months in Austin, Texas. The album's musical style contains elements of punk rock, reggae, and ska, as well as dancehall, hip hop, and dub music, with tempos ranging wildly. Nowell's lyrical subject matter relates to relationships, prostitution, riots, and addiction. Album Tracks 1. Garden Grove 2. What I Got 3. Wrong Way 4. Same in the End 1. April 29,1992 (Miami) 2. Vinyl LP pressing. Meticulousness ensures singularity. Bad Omens carefully direct each nuance of their music, approaching the process with an auteur mindset. The California quartet - Noah Sebastian [lead vocals], Joakim InchJollyInch Karlsson [lead guitar, vocals], Nicholas Ruffilo [bass], and Nick Folio [drums] - explore the enigmatic idiosyncrasies of their signature sound on 2019's Finding God Before God Finds Me, imbuing cinematic electronics and gospel stature into metallic melodies. Produced by Noah and Jolly, the ten-track trip unfurls like the sonic equivalent of a gripping existential drama.
