I’m going to break this down into setup, positives, negatives, and an overall impression. First the setup. I installed another branded doorbell at my previous home so I was fairly familiar with the process, but it had been several years. After shutting off power and downloading the Blink app, I started walking through the setup process. This includes scanning a QR code on the back of the doorbell, which allows the app to identify the device, which I appreciated. I got stuck a couple times during setup and turned to AI search to resolve one of them. First, the Chime setup confused me until I realized it was talking about the doorbell chime maker my previous doorbell was connected to. I also misunderstood the instruction to leave the chime wires in place while adding a bridge connection to them. The instructions were technically correct, and would be easy to understand if I were to do it again, but I could have used the “doorbells for dummies” version, perhaps with a YouTube instructional video. Overall, while the setup took a bit longer than I would have preferred, it would be much faster if I were to do it again, and if you watch a setup video, is pretty easy. It’s basically just remove wires from the old, connect them to the new, and install a bridge on the chime. The other hiccup I ran into was it stalled when connecting to my network, and I ended up having to completely remove and restart the setup process, as it didn’t gracefully retry after the failure of give me an opportunity to retry. It was a minor setback but a genuine failure point, especially for someone even less savvy than me, Beyond setup, my biggest gripe is with notifications, I enabled the AI smart notifications for now (it’s part of a paid service you get a free trial for), but found the alerts not quite matching what I think are setup. I had to lower the sensitivity and turn off alerts for anything beyond humans, and still I seemed to get notifications for cars driving by. I finally seem to have gotten those notifications turned off but now I receive no notifications for anything but “suspicious activity”, which is a setting I’ve since toggled off. Overall I still don’t have the notifications setup the way I’d like them to be set. The great thing though is picture clarity and what actually is recorded. Because it’s wired, the recording seems to be ready instantly when motion is detected or even a moment before, it seems as though motion is the recording trigger but the actual record is happening all the time. This allows me to see even someone walking out my front door and down the driveway befor they’re far away. The image quality is fine, though always a little weird with a wide angle lense. I am overall fairly happy with the camera and am enjoying the free subscription trial now but I’m not sure if I’ll continue it after the trial.

The Blink wired doorbell 2K+ is Blinks offering 2026. I do need to reiterate that this is a wired system and if you’re not adapt in wiring then you either have someone knowledgeable in wiring, or purchase a power solution or just get a battery powered model. That aside, we’ll have a go through with this doorbell. Out of the box you will have the main doorbell, a mounting bracket, a mounting template with a removal tool attached to it, a jumper wire and screws, and lastly a quick start guide. Prior to installation, it is highly recommended to turn off the power on your circuit breaker even though your doorbell is a low voltage device to prevent electric shock. Then download the app and create an account. Scan the QR code to identify the device and add it on to the app. Then locate your chime and attach the jumper wire to provide power to new doorbell. As mentioned earlier, there is also an option to have an alternate source of power and that device is sold separately by Blink. Lastly, an optional chime is also offered by Blink. Remove your old doorbell and use the mounting template to attach the mount to your wall. Connect the two wires to your Blink doorbell and snap it on the mounting plate. The removal is used if you for whatever reason need to detach the Blink doorbell. Store the removal tool in a safe place. Turn the power on and your doorbell is ready for use. Like all video doorbells, this doorbell detects people whenever they go near the doorbell. The resolution is improved in this newer version which is obviously at 2k or FHD. Do note that a fisheye effect is evident here. Also, this doorbell has two way communication meaning you don’t have to open your door to communicate with the person outside. Blink offers several plans to use the doorbell. First is the free plan wherein you have basic camera functionality and two-way communication. There is no video recording included in this free plan. Next would be the regular plan wherein video recording up to sixty days is included. Then there is an AI enabled plan where detection is enhanced such identifying whatever is captured in the camera. Personally, I do not see a value in this for my personal use. But that may be of value to others so I won’t judge. Other than that, all plans have a timer and the ability to adjust capturing angles. And being owned by Amazon, Alexa integration is included as well as other Blink products. Overall, this is a good doorbell while not really being fancy. Still this a recommend for those who need a video doorbell.

The Blink 2K+ Video Doorbell with head-to-toe 2K video, continuous hardwired power, enhanced audio in black, is a budget priced video doorbell that is okay. If you want to get the bells and whistles: such as recorded video, saving video to the cloud, recording what you see via Live View, and person identification which learns and can identify people (based on your input), you will need to pay for the monthly subscription. They force you to get a free trial upon setup. I find that to be very misleading because what you will get is not what you will have after the free-trial expires if you choose not to pay. This wired version of the doorbell does NOT support your in-home mechanical chimes. You will need to purchase a separate Blink chime, or an Amazon Alexa device (Amazon owns Blink) or a Blink mini camera. Third-party wireless chimes are not compatible with Blink video doorbells, so if you want a chime and not just a notification which the app will provide, and you are not already immersed in the Blink universe, be prepared to pay even more. I can say that the installation and setup was extremely easy. I disconnected the previous doorbell wires and removed the existing doorbell. Unfortunately, the Blink bracket didn't fit using the existing doorbell holes. I used the supplied template to drill new bracket holes outside the front door. I connected the wires and snapped on the doorbell. The doorbell itself immediately worked because when I pressed the button, it rang - it rang at the doorbell itself, not at the inside chime. It could not be heard inside. I began to dig into why it wasn't working - the Blink support AI informed me that the Blink "wired" doorbell will not allow my existing chime to ring. Bummer! I searched online and did buy a Blink chime that will allow it to ring inside. Having to spend additional $$ did not make me happy, but had I taken a closer look at the product box, I would have seen it wasn't going to work. It shows "Blink Wired Doorbell 2K+ does not ring existing home chime. Blink Chime accessory required for audible notifications (sold separately)". I had missed that part. As for how it looks, the doorbell looks great outside my door. It has a rather small profile which I appreciate. The 2K video from the doorbell is clear. It does show me the person at the door from head to toe, but it quickly became obvious that I need the video angled to be able to see their full face at my door. I wish this would have come with an angled mounting bracket. I will have to figure out something else for that. I have had the opportunity to speak to a delivery person, but there is a delay in the back and forth talk, so patience is needed. I am also able to see someone at my door at night - which is great. Overall, the Blink 2K+ Video Doorbell with head-to-toe 2K video, continuous hardwired power and enhanced audio is okay. Because it is wired, I know I won't have it out of service for periods of charging or replacing batteries. It is good to know I can see who is outside my door, the power is continuous, the view is clear and I am able to talk to visitors even when I'm not home. I just wish everything needed was included in the box. The box said a sync module was not required so I thought it was self-contained. Being forced to sign-up for a subscription, even a free trial, is not acceptable to me. I want to know how it will work if I decide not to pay. By the time that day comes, it will be too late to return it. Having to buy a chime to be able to hear the sound of the doorbell is also not acceptable to me. Starting with 5 stars, it keeps THREE stars for what it is able to on its own, but loses TWO stars for what it can't do on its own. If you know what you're getting (or NOT getting) and you are okay with that, then this doorbell is for you. If you want more and want better, I would go with something else.

Blink proves you don’t have to spend a lot to get piece of mind that video doorbell can provide. Unboxing you get the doorbell, mount and a hardwire kit, you don’t get a wedge like some video doorbells if you need to mount it at an angle. At this price that’s kind of understandable but it only cost about ten dollars if you do need one. Setup is very simple and straightforward with the Blink home monitor app as it walks you thru the whole process to get it up and running. Once you are up and running the continuity between the app and device is excellent. Sometimes this can be the biggest issue for me with tech, how well they work together and if it makes life easier or a pain! You get 30 days of free Blink services and then it runs about forty dollars for a year for the basic plan for one device. With the AI subscriptions you get more detailed descriptions of what’s going on when you get alerts. The 2k video quality is very good especially considering the price point. The noise canceling feature for the mic makes hearing someone easier when there’s background noise. Even though this model is hardwired it doesn’t ring your existing chime it only alerts you on your phone. If you need chime functionality, Blink has a separate chime you can purchase or get the model with it. This Blink doorbell is an inexpensive way to get a video doorbell when you don’t need all the extras.

Simple and Easy to connect to our existing Blink account. Was looking for something to augment the coverage of the front of our house. We have existing Blink cameras, but the front door was a bit hard to cover unless we went with multiple cameras. The Blink doorbell filled the bill. We now have great coverage of the front door. The unit has great super clear images. Not to mention that its recorded in our Blink account along with the camera footage. Don’t need to go to another system to see the footage. The integration into our Alexa system was super easy. Now when someone rings the bell it just announces over our Alexa’s throughout the house and I don’t have a dog going crazy because a doorbell rang. A noteworthy statement is that it is very easy to connect the two cables from the doorbell, to the Blink System thanks to the longer pigtail cables provided. You don’t have to try and connect the back of the Blink while it's pressed against the wall. My only Con would be that we could not use the existing screw-holes of our standard doorbell. We had to drill into the stucco in order to mount the backplate.

Blink surprised me, having used their products before I know they are economical for a reason. The doorbell 2k is different it’s a well-built product with few short comings and is the first Blink product I would recommend. Installation was simple, the app walks you through everything and its very straightforward. It took me longer to find the breaker than installing the doorbell (10 mins). The video clarity of the doorbell is good, you get a full 140-degree view so you can see anything and everything at your door. The nighttime quality is decent and I can make out details 5 feet away in pure darkness. The notifications are instant and the app has been updated to group moments together which declutters your videos. The AI descriptions are ok, you get details about cars (color) and animals (types and what they’re doing) but not humans. What I really liked was how quickly and consistently I was able to access the video feed when away, usually only took 3 seconds. The only thing that was a negative is it doesn’t work with my door chime, I could only connect it to my Alexa speaker. So if you don’t have an Alexa device you will have to either do some home upgrades or only get notified on your phone. The doorbell has a nice look and is well built. The video quality is good and even the audio is decent, the mics aren’t great so Blink uses AI processing to compensate which I didn’t enjoy. Being consistently powered gives me reassurance that most motion events will be recorded and up to this point I have not had any false notifications because of AI detections. Not mentioned but should be considered • Some features are behind a paywall • AI features are not on device, so your always sending data to the cloud

Had Blink products for quite some time now. Although this doorbell is an improvement from the previous model, there are still issues. The picture on this camera is 2K and is greatly improved from the previous version and from the previous cameras in general. I was indeed impressed with that. Also, the mount is LIGHT YEARS better. The previous doorbell model bracket that attaches to your home, had tiny little plastic nubs that would break no matter how careful you were when taking the doorbell housing off to change the batteries. Maybe some of you know what I’m talking about. Blink did send me a replacement when I sent them pics. I think they knew it was a bad design as they didn’t fight me at all. This new 2K model there is no need to change batteries, as there are none. That poor bracket design from the older model would not be an issue necessarily without the need to change the batteries. The camera is supposed to stay connected, and powered on with the home wiring. Mine currently does not register all the time and usually shows offline. I have to figure out what’s going on, or call Blink to get assistance. They send a jumper wire so that you can install it inside your chime to bypass the chime. So basically, now you have a small chime box on your interior wall that does nothing, but hey that’s a good trade off imo, I’ll take it if I don’t have to change batteries all the time. That’s my major complaint for the Blink cameras in general, and at the same time that’s what makes them nice. With batteries you can literally mount them anywhere, however, changing out the batteries has gotten extremely old over the years. Back to the doorbell, so like I was saying the interior OG chime is gone. If you’re ok with that, you’re left with the notification on your Blink app, and or setting up a chime on your smart home speaker or, or hub from whatever system you use, as the only form of letting you know someone is at your door. If you want to use the existing OG chime box, then this doorbell is not for you. As I mentioned above, the picture quality is outstanding and improved, and the microphone on this model is very much improved. That said, Idk what’s going on as my doorbell is working sporadically. Mostly shows offline, and the button flashes red. (see pic) I tested the wiring and installed the jumpers in the chime correctly. Not a review for the cameras, but I will say my original set of 4 cameras have had zero issues. I’ve added to my cameras with newer ones in the last year, and they have all needed to be replaced. It seem Blink build quality has severely declined which is sad to see. This doorbell doesn’t seem to be the exception to the rule. But hey at least now the mount wont break. I’ve been pricing other brand security cameras to replace these, as they've lost my confidence, but for now I’ll keep on trucking. No I would not recommend this product.

I would definitely recommend purchasing. The video quality is very good. The mobile app works very well. The sound quality is top-notch on the cameras and it just works. There’s a slight delay from real time, but not a dealbreaker at all.

Easy to install and setup. Works well with Alexa and video quality is great.

We recently purchased this to monitor our new home, and set up was easy, great quality cameras and I love the feature where it recognizes people by name, now thats a plus! Will be adding more cameras to this system.

So far, it is a great device. Easy installation for existing wired doorbells. I have other Blink devices, so adding this one was super easy.

I have a Blink security system set up at my elderly mom’s house to not only help protect her, but also for my family to keep an eye on her since she lives alone. I chose the Blink system because its very easy to use and has pretty good quality products. She currently had a different brand doorbell that we were paying a monthly subscription for, so I decided to switch it out for this one since she already has the app set up and other blink cameras. Out of the box, this is like may wired doorbells. It comes with a mounting bracket and the doorbell itself as well as some mounting screws and things. The only problem I have is that it comes with just a flat mounting bracket. So, if you have siding that is angled, your camera may be pointing up in the are a little more than you’d like. It would be nice if they also included a wedge type bracket for angled siding. The doorbell itself is very easy to install and set up, especially if you already have the Blink app. Even if you don’t, you’ll be up and running in no time! You just attach the mounting bracket with the 2 included screws and then you connect the 2 wires from your existing doorbell to the back of the new doorbell and then just snap the doorbell into the mounting bracket. Its as easy as that! There is also an included tool to help you get the doorbell off the mounting bracket once it locks in, but if you lose that, you can just use a flat head screwdriver as well. But this also means a thief can easily steal your doorbell with just a flat head screwdriver as well, so just keep that in mind. Once it was mounted, I went into the blink app and selected to add a new device and it walked me through the setup process. If you are new to blink, you will just need to set up an account which you can do in a matter of minutes. Once you are set up, then you can go in and customize the doorbell with what kinds of notifications and things you want it to detect. Much like other doorbells, you also have the 2-way talk feature so you can communicate with someone at your door if you aren’t at home. I found this feature worked well and I was easily able to hear people and they were able to hear me. As far as the video quality goes, this is a 2K sensor, so during the day you will get nice and clear pictures and very easily be able to see anything in front of the camera on your property. With this one at my moms house, I am easily able to read license plates of cars that are parked in her driveway. This camera also has pretty good night vision as well. You won’t be able to see quite as far during the day, but you will get nice and clear pictures of anything roughly 15-20 feet in front of your doorbell. I found the notifications to also work very well, often times it was just a second or 2 from when there was motion on the porch or someone rang the bell till I got the notification. We are using this, and all her other cameras with the sunk module (not included) and with that there is no monthly fee and it can store all your videos locally on a SD card. I highly recommend picking one of those up as well! Overall, we are very happy with this camera, and would definitely recommend it. It has good video quality, quick notifications, and lots of different customization options in the app so you can set it up to work exactly the way you want it to!

I personally prefer the battery‑powered Blink Doorbell 2K+ because setup is much easier and doesn’t require any electrical work. USE: The doorbell delivers head‑to‑toe 2K video, giving you a full vertical view of visitors, packages, and your entryway. Motion detection is responsive, and night vision is clear enough to identify faces and objects. Two‑way audio with noise cancellation works well. Hardwired power means the camera stays continuously active without worrying about battery life. USABILITY: The Blink app is simple to navigate and has improved over the years. Live view loads quickly, notifications arrive reliably, and motion clips are easy to review. The doorbell integrates smoothly with other Blink devices. With it being hardwired, you get consistent uptime, but you lose the flexibility of placing it anywhere. The battery model is more convenient for renters or anyone who doesn’t want to deal with wiring. OVERALL: It is a solid, affordable wired doorbell with crisp 2K video, reliable motion alerts, and clear two‑way audio. If you already have doorbell wiring, it’s a great value, but if you want the easiest installation possible, the battery‑powered Blink 2K+ is the better choice with the same great video, but without having to deal with getting it hardwired. REVIEW: The Blink Wired Doorbell 2K+ is my go to doorbell and camera system. The head‑to‑toe 2K video gives you a full vertical view of your doorway, which helps to see packages on the ground. Motion detection is quick and the night vision is surprisingly clear. Two‑way audio works well and the noise cancellation helps keep conversations understandable. Being wired it is consistent and stays powered 24/7 without needing battery swaps or recharges. Once installed, it just works. The downside is the installation itself. If you don’t already have doorbell wiring, the setup becomes more involved, and that’s where I personally prefer the battery‑powered Blink 2K+. The wireless version is much easier to mount, set up, and move if needed, and it still delivers excellent video quality. Overall, the wired Blink 2K+ is a great choice if you want continuous power and already have wiring in place. But for simplicity and flexibility, the battery model is the one I’d pick.

I have owned and installed smart-home gear so many times over the years that I tend to be pretty skeptical when a manufacturer calls something an 'upgrade'. Half the time you get one real improvement and three new features you’ll never use. The Blink Wired Doorbell 2K+ really caught my attention because the improvements are really about what I care about with a video doorbell. I use this in a slightly different location. I recently built a basement apartment for my oldest daughter after college, and because she has her own entrance, I wanted that entrance to have a completely separate video doorbell. I don’t need an elaborate security system down there, but I definitely wanted her to be able to see who’s at the door, talk to them and keep an eye on deliveries. The first thing I wanted was hardwired power. I already have half the electronics in the house needing to be charged, and I had absolutely no interest in adding the doorbell to that list. During the renovation, I installed a 24V/30VA transformer just for this purpose, so the Wired Doorbell 2K+ was a good choice. It is installed, it has continuous power and I can forget about battery charging. The 2K head to toe video is probably the feature I like the most. Resolution numbers don’t do much for me now. What is more important is whether the camera actually shows you what you want to see. The taller, more squared off photo on this doorbell is a lot more natural than the wide cinematic view on some cameras. I want to see the face and the package sitting at their feet. It seems that’s been a difficult thing for video doorbell manufacturers to master or include. The improved audio is another nice upgrade too. I’ve used older video doorbells, and although two-way audio worked, to have an actual conversation with them was another story. Better noise reduction and echo cancellation help, especially when you’re dealing with wind and all the other background noise that you get outside. There are a couple of things to be taken into account before buying it. This model doesn’t come with a mechanical indoor chime and you’ll need the Blink app or a compatible Alexa or Blink device to receive notifications inside. That’s fine for me since this is a separate entrance to the house but anyone else who is replacing an existing conventional doorbell should know that before pulling the old one off the wall. I went with black and I'm glad I did. The design is simple and relatively unobtrusive. In general, the Blink Wired Doorbell 2K+ does what I need. Hardwired continuous power, sharp 2K video, a truly useful head-to-toe field of view and better two way audio are all the upgrades. Most important for me, my daughter's apartment has its own dedicated doorbell and camera system that she can manage from her phone. Is it revolutionary? No. It’s a video doorbell. But it’s a well thought out one and sometimes the best tech products are the ones you install, set up and don’t have to think about anymore. That’s what I was looking for.

I have had several different surveillance cameras from several different brands throughout the years so I know what I like and what I dislike. I am currently using a couple of Blink cameras for different applications and so I am already familiar with the app and functions of the camera. The short of it is, Blink offers all type of cameras for a very reasonable price. But, in my opinion, this comes at a cost. Every camera is just a little lacking and this includes the app. The app lags and stalls at times, but nothing that a quick reset doesn't fix and not often enough for me to totally give up on Blink. But compared to my other cameras, it does show it's cost. Now, if this was my only camera, I probably wouldn't be bothered. This doorbell is a wired version and installation is really easy. If you need any help, Blink has videos online that I think is one of the better ones. It is clear and which makes it very easy to understand. I also read that Blink has an option for a power adapter if you don't have a prewired doorbell. The camera itself is shot in a square format and not wide which I don't know if I like or dislike this. On the one hand, to me, it looks more natural but you don't get a wide angle of view. Day time view is quite good and the night time view is acceptable but not great 8-10 ft out. It has 90% of the features that my other cameras have and mostly does it well. But most of these features requires a subscription. Honestly, I have to keep reminding myself when I want to say a negative how much this camera cost. This always turns my thought into "well it's actually, pretty good". LOL. If you are looking for a low cost, high return doorbell, this is it. Just temper your expectations.

This is my first IoT doorbell so I didn't know what to expect. I do have other Blink branded products so the brand is not new to me and I like the Blink products that I own. I think the installation was really easy but I recommend that you would need to watch videos before attempting to avoid any mistakes. The most trouble was figuring out my electrical home breaker and that had nothing to do with the difficulty of installing this product. After that installing the app to connect and use the doorbell was also easy because it works like another IoT device that you have in your home. I think that most doorbell reviews will talk about how you can talk through the doorbell, record the video, and able to use it as a camera so i won't repeat what I think most customers will already review. I'd like to point out that the sound and picture clarity from this doorbell is great. Again, since this is my first doorbell I cannot compare these features to other brands. I am glad I picked the wired version so that I would not have to worry about batteries but I think the installation could have even been easier. Last but not least, I think the app is also easy to use. If you already have another Blink product then the app will not be foreign to you. I def recommend this doorbell if you are looking for a IoT doorbell.

Received from my mail carrier in perfect condition. Unboxing and instructions are super simple and for us this linked to an existing camera system. We have used Blink cameras since about 2018 at our houses. Every camera prior to this one had been battery operated and used lithium batteries. We appreciated the ease of use with one small box that acts as the computer and connects the WiFi to the cameras. It also gives the cameras the signal from the house. It’s very small and easy to hide in a place that you won’t notice. With the battery operated ones we are told we will get two years of battery life, but our real life experience was more like 3-4 years. We only have them on during the night so they don’t trip off, however we live in extreme climate and it’s hot, 15 days over 115 this year. Those cameras are perfect and this doorbell head to toe is just as good. I hooked it up to my low voltage wires at the door (two wires) and the rest was really easy. The camera works great however I have worries about the longevity. We had a previous model blink doorbell and it didn’t last long, so I’m hopeful this one makes it a while. Because installing is so easy, I wouldn’t mind replacing or upgrading in the future.
