About this product
Thekla and Laced Records invite you to submerge yourself in the musical world of Braid, Anniversary Edition, a remaster and expansion of the iconic puzzle-platformer, first released in 2008.15 tracks have been specially remastered and pressed to heavyweight vinyl, housed in printed inner sleeves that slip into a widespined outer sleeve. Eight tracks used in the 2008 of Braid are present, with music by Jami Sieber, Shira Kammen, Pam Swan and Cheryl Ann Fulton. These are accompanied by seven brand new electro-ambient remixes created by Martin Stig Andersen (LIMBO, INSIDE, Control) for the Braid, Anniversary Edition game .Braid's creator Jonathan Blow had specific criteria for the soundtrack. Instead of bespoke compositions, he chose organic and complex pre-existing pieces that would complement the puzzle gameplay and painterly world. Functionally, the music needed to sound satisfying both in reverse and pitched down in order to make the various time-based mechanics more satisfying to players. Aesthetically, fan-favourite tracks like InchDownstreamInch and InchLullaby SetInch root the player in a natural, mindful setting - albeit a hostile one. A thread that runs through Jami Sieber and Shira Kammen's compositions in particular is the inspiration taken from the natural world, from a Thai river with elephants wading, to the Grand Canyon. The remasters are the result of thoughtful and often painstaking work to bring the recordings up to date for a contemporary game , taking into account the way certain instruments reflect the visual aesthetics of Braid's world and the player's gameplay state. The Braid, Anniversary Edition remixes by Andersen were created through an artful process of de-composition and redesign, in order to better match the darker tone of Braid's later stages. Album Tracks 1. Maenam (Remastered) 2. Downstream (Remastered) 3. Romanesca (Remaste

Limited color vinyl LP pressing. 2020 . Unlike previous albums, Braids decided to stay close to home for the recording of Shadow Offering. Taking over a spacious sound recording studio tucked in an old warehouse, the band were able to slow down and creatively rediscover themselves. No longer riding the novelty of youth, the band deliberately took time to recommit to themselves and their craft, and channel new energy into their music. They wrote 40 songs. The band sketched and re-sketched new material for eighteen months before lucky circumstance found Chris Walla (Death Cab For Cutie) renting out space in their studio. The four began wandering into each others' rooms, curious about each others' projects. Typically opting for a private and insular creation process, the friendship between the four saw the band sharing their songs with Walla, and naturally resulted in Walla co-producing and engineering Shadow Offering. Pushing the band out of their comfort zone, he at once broke and unified the band's dynamic, unearthing individual creative energy long buried over the years. Album Tracks 1. Here 4 U 2. Young Buck 3. Eclipse (Ashley) 4. Just Let Me 5. Upheaval II 6. Fear of Man 7. Snow Angel 8. Ocean 9. Note to Self

180-Gram Black vinyl. Considered by many to be the definitive Braid album, Frame & Canvas was recorded by J. Robbins (Jawbox/Burning Airlines) at Inner Ear studios in December 1997. Braid's third album features the bombastic crowd pleaser InchThe New Nathan Detroits,Inch the lovesick math rock dance anthem InchA Dozen RosesInch and the shimmery mini-epic of InchI Keep a Diary.Inch Album Tracks 1. Limited red and blue colored vinyl LP pressing. Includes digital download and sticker. You don't have to be a music industry insider to know that there's currently a desire for '90s revivalism, with hordes of defunct bands coming out of the woodwork to do one quick lap on the festival circuit and get the praise they always deserved but never earned their first time around. But Braid knew from the start that this was never meant to be a cash-in reunion. With the ten-year anniversary of No Coast, it's clear this isn't where Braid's story ended-it's where a new chapter began. InchI hope No Coast can be an introduction for people who haven't heard Braid before,Inch says Broach. InchIt'd be great if some of the old fans were into it as well, but we want to grow as a band. We worked hard on this record. We want it to be the album people listen to; the one where they go, 'That's the one.'Inch Album Tracks 1. Bang 2. East End Hollows 3. No Coast 4. Damages! 5.
