Broken Blossoms - DVD

D.W. Griffith's tragic tale of a frail girl named Lucy who befriends a sensitive Chinese immigrant in London's seedy Limehouse District is generally regarded as one of the greatest films of the silent era. Starring Lillian Gish as Lucy, Richard Barthelmess as the Chinese man, and Donald Crisp as Lucy's brutal father, this quiet little film still manages to be shocking and heartbreaking nearly a century after it was first shown.

Cobra Woman - BLU-RAY

In the South Seas, a young woman (Maria Montez) is spirited away by kidnappers to a neighboring isle, leading her betrothed (Jon Hall) and his best friend (Sabu) on a quest to get her back. It turns out that the abductee is the separated-at-birth sister of a snake cult's high priestess (Montez)... and she doesn't want any competition for her crown. Colorful, gloriously campy adventure co-stars Lon Chaney, Jr., Samuel S. Hinds; Robert Siodmak directs. 71 min. Standard; Soundtrack English; Subtitles English; audio commentary; theatrical trailer.

Avenging Force - BLU-RAY

Matt Hunter (Michael Dudikoff, American Ninja) is an ex-secret service agent trying to protect his best friend from a super band of rightwing terrorists known as Pentangle. When the ruthless organization torches his ranch and kidnaps his little sister, Hunter is forced into Pentangle's barbaric manhunt, played out in the remote swamplands of Louisiana. It's the ultimate game of cat-and-mouse, as Hunter employs an awesome array of martial arts skills in his desperate fight for survival and revenge. Stylish direction by action veteran Sam Firstenberg (Revenge of the Ninja) with a stellar cast that includes Steve James (Hero and the Terror), James Booth (Robbery) and James P. Ryan (Runaway Train). Michael Dudikoff's style is reminiscent of a young Clint Eastwood. The New York Times
