Prior to buying this, I had a Creda that I had for decades. It did a great job, but Creda went from having almost no presence in the US to having no presence in the US to no longer selling under that name anywhere. Aside from that, it was a smaller oven and I was remodeling my kitchen so I didn't want to be stuck with a small opening for an old oven for which replacement parts would be impossible to find. Over the years I've used other people's ovens too and they never cooked as well as my own. I was relieved to find that this model cooks very well. It has many modes, so it takes getting used to, but if you select the right mode, it does an excellent job. It also has a remote function. I have the app installed. It's helpful knowing when timers go off but I don't know if I'll ever have a practical need to control the oven remotely. The companion top oven doesn't have that feature so the app has just one appliance. The oven also has a probe. Unlike my previous oven that had a socket somewhere near the middle, this one has it on the top left side. They recommend putting items to be roasted on the second shelf from the bottom or the one above it. That means that not only are you left with a short cord for the probe, meaning you need to shift things to the left of the rack, it also means that higher racks will get in the way. If you want to cook something else at the same time, or simply leave the top rack in the oven, you need to move the item being cooked to the left of the rack and then route the probe wire through the upper rack. It's an awkward design. There are two styles of racks. One of them works as a unit that lets the racks slide out easily on rollers. The other is a plain rack. The oven comes with two of the first kind. The second kind binds on one side. Following their advice to lubricate it with vegetable oil does not help. There's no safe way to get it out of the oven, and I most likely won't use it because there's a limit to how much I am willing to chip it or chip the part it slides into.

I am absolutely thrilled with the performance of my new oven. I can cook 2x the food and unlike most wall ovens that tend to cook a little more well done on the back side this one cooks evenly all the way through. The french doors are also great not only for ease of entrance but also I no longer have to worry about the kids burning themselves or running into the side.

GE Cafe Series 30" Convection Wall Oven This is a very nice oven. I love the look of the french doors! It was an expensive purchase. It has convection and conventional settings. It is smaller than a regular stove/oven combo, but this is not a problem for me. I gave it 4 stars, because the right door is just slightly higher than the left door. Also, the racks slide back when I pull them out to take the food off the racks. I have to be careful when using the convection oven, because it can dry the food out. It is a learning process. Overall I am happy with this purchase.

I have never had an oven with french doors. It's so much easier to use not having to lean or reach into it like most ovens with a pull down door. Its pricier than I wanted but it's so nice. It upgrades our kitchen from average to wow!

While it seems to take a bit longer time than out old oven once at temperature it holds it very well. Really appreciate the sliding racks, and being able to change their position. The knobs are wonderful (being rare today)as they have dents at all positions and temperatures. Big kudos to GE for the design of this oven!!! Highly recommend.
