I've been using raspberry pi computers since the pi 2, specifically for use in emulation set ups with a classic crt tv. The only downside is the power.... The older systems work great but once you get up in to Dreamcast, PSP, stuff like that, forget it. Since I've packed up the majority of my classic collection due to space, i wanted to be able to flawlessly recreate Dreamcast as well as some of my GameCube and Wii games, and the Pi 5 handles it all no problem when you've overclocked it. Yes i have an asus rog which is also great, but i love the simplicity behind the Pi, and this one, combined with a Sony 27" HD Wega from 2005? Retro gaming heaven. The kit is a huge bonus, and the case does have a fan but i do recommend getting an external usb fan to set on top to help keep things cool. If you haven't dipped your toe into the world of SBCs, this kit is absolutely a perfect starting point, and i think it has the power that it could be a minimalist desktop set up or a travel option. Add to that the fact that the os goes on a micro sd card and you've suddenly got an infinite amount of boot options. Once you also add usb storage OR one of the many, many, many pi hats that do everything from vga output to m2 ssd, cameras, 3d scanner kits, robots, compatibility with Arduino.... This really is an amazing piece of kit that anyone from kids to adults will love. Just be a little patient as it isn't always flawless, but it will help you learn Linux terminal, and the frustration factor is pretty low at this point. Tldr get this, and a good usb controller, legally dump your games, and have a great time!

Bought this to run Home Assistant OS and it’s working great. Assembly was easy with the video. Would definitely get another one of these whenever needed.

I needed a computer just for viewing content on my TV. Maybe buying the 5 for that purpose was an overkill but it was just a few more dollars than previous models. Works very good Recommend!

Great package, price is a little high I think though. This has worked great for me to use as an SDR host for my Ham radio use with an SDR Play device. Setup was easy and the accessories are all there for you to complete a working project with little issues.

Powerful little computer does exactly what I wanted out of it. The USB ports can be difficult to plug devices into as the connecting will flex as you push. I am definitely concerned this will break if plugged into often.
