Customer Ratings & Reviews

So first off I am a novice photographer, and this is my first camera beyond a point and shoot. So far I love this thing, we brought it on vacation backpacking and it's size is exactly what I'm looking for, picture quality and adjustability is great. The only thing I'm not a fan of was the price tag making it harder to buy accessories such as the lense adapter and veiwfinder which were to be ordered and not available for the trip. Also batteries have been a pain to get a hold of.

Wife wanted a point and shoot. I wanted a camera that would keep up with me like my Canon 1DX/5D. This little guy is a pretty perfect compromise in size and capability. The image quality is akin to what I see in a Canon Rebel, which is a fine camera. The speed of operation with the available dials helps me get the shot quickly - exposure compensation and aperture adjustments. There is a back dial that can be set to quickly change ISO, WB and other things, but I haven't fully utilized it as I'm not used to it yet. The kit lens is quite slow, but versatile in the available focal length for casual shoots. I've bought the Canon EF Mount Adapter so I can use my other lenses, but haven't really found it useful yet since I have to deal with the 1.6x crop. Flipping the LCD to selfie position and the lens at 15mm, I can shoot a group selfie easily. In the same way, you can shoot kids and have a great reaction as they see themselves and make funny expressions - you're shooting blind, but keeping it centered is sufficient. Wireless transmission of photos to my phone and being able to operate it remotely is wonderful. The battery life is sufficient. Wished there was 4K. Focusing is snappy. LCD bright. Ergonomics is very good. Button and dials feel solid. Fast FPS. Decent flash and capability to use Speedlights. Wish there was an optical viewfinder built-in. This is a hot buy. Pricey, but I can see it being in my travel bag for 6+ years.

If you're already invested in the Canon line as I am then this is a great little mirrorless camera to have really just for fun. I carry it in the car all the time just to snap things when I catch them. Works very well for that. I literally pack this in a trail pack and run it up and down mountains on my back. It's a small, compact mirrorless option that I use for minimal expeditions where I might want some photos. Holds well in your hand, no viewfinder is tough to get used to. Excellent battery life and I find the controls fairly easy to learn to use. Doesn't hurt I can use my other canon lenses on it. Photo quality is pretty good. I'm fairly amateur in the photo taking realm so I can't speak too in depth on quality. It's held up well shooting some higher ISO on a sunset without getting super grainy RAW images. I've not really put this one through the ringer yet.

This camera is light and compact making it super easy to travel with without sacrificing quality.

I love how compact this camera is. Its very easy to use and operate. Really didn't care much about the viewfinder due to mainly using for video but if your looking for snapping b pics the M5 might be a better option. I do wish that the canon connect had a video option to where you can still record. The lock dial on the lens can get a lil annoying especially when I'm trying to hurry up and film something. Overall it's a great camera auto focus Superb. Love it

This is an AMAZING camera!!! however, it's VERY comparable to the Canon EOS M5, which is still small, but a bit heavier, slightly more expensive, and has an EVF finder. Which some people may pass on this one because of that. Still, it's a great camera but I'd only buy if you like the portability.

Was looking for a good camera that offered a mic input. Love this camera. It's great quality and the auto focus is 1 of the best i seen. Great for beginners or advanced, and light and easy to hold.

Great camera for vlogging and also just for needing something small that has really great quality. They've come up with a newer version since, but at the time of purchasing this was perfect for my needs and awesome to work with.

Short review. I was cautious about this camera being new to the market and I have no experience with mirrorless. I knew that I wanted DSLR quality pictures but did not want the bulk as I already have a midsize DSLR. I am picky with my pictures and the pictures of the M6 were awesome. Not the quality of a L lenses and a DSLR, but I was honestly surprised of how good the quality of each picture was. I would hands down recommend this camera to anyone. Want a small DSLR? Get this camera!!!

I went through reviews before buying the camera; these were mixed. I've only use the camera on a couple outings so far. Obvious lighter than my 5D mIII and 70D, but seems to take consistently good pictures. No problems with corners in pictures printed so far. Using EF lenses with an adaptor; full control of the lenses is there.

This camera is very impressive with image quality. Easy to use and I especially like the low noise at high ISO settings.

The camera is easy to operate. The pictures taken are clear and crisp even in low light. Can't wait to try video.

This is the easiest to use camera and great quality highly recommend

The canon m5 is great, I feel really good about the pictures and the videos and the resolutions is excelent.

I bought this camera to be something I can carry around with me and be more accessible than pulling out my DSLR. It does the job as designed! Footage is a bit shaky, so a electronic gimbal is definitely my next purchase.

Easy to use camera but still has a lot of features

The cam offers the ability to add an external mic and to swap lens when needed. Perfect for the vloggers out there

While some of this cameras features have been eclipsed by newer models, the image quality is still excellent and video is sharp. Only wish it shot in 120 fps in HD.

The camera works well, love touch screen specially for auto focus. It's great to have mic jack. The camera is light weight with plenty of controls, I would have liked a couple more custom function buttons. Four stars because of price and video quality is just ok.

I’ve had this camera a little over a month and so far I have only positive things to say about it. Takes great pictures for the price point.
