Original 1960's version of Cape Fear is far superior to the 90's remake. Filmed in black and white, it looks FANTASTIC on blu-ray. Starring Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum as the villain. Film is A+, picture quality is a solid A, the only thing lacking on the blu-ray are extra features. It just has a couple of old extras in Standard Definition, and even the TRAILER is in 480i. So clearly all of this was just ported over from an old DVD. However the picture quality of the film itself if marvelous, and well worth it - particularly considering this title is frequently sub $10.

The main reason to see this film is Robert Mitchum. He turns in one of his finest performances. The blu-ray transfer is very good, too. Recommended.

I love the old school feel of the old movies being in black & white. It gives it the perfect background and feel for the movie. This is better than the remake.

In many ways this is a superior film to the popular Scorsese/DeNiro remake and for the right price I was glad to add it to my collection.
