Bought this for my 15 year old son for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. Put it together himself. Calibrated it himself and has found multiple planets. Saw Jupiter and 4 of it's moons, Saturn and it's rings, Mars (red). Very impressed. It would have 5 stars except for how it connects to the stand. It doesnt have a great "dove tail" (my opinion) and is held on by a single screw. Hopefully that is sufficient enough. Also not sure how to line up the phone's camera so he can use sky finder with the telescope the way you are suppose to.

Not bad for beginners... you need to buy Barlow and better quality eyepiece ... The pics are for the blue moon Halloween night using Barlow Omni with 10 Omni and 15 mm Omni all Celestron. For the price and ease of use you cannot beat that ... for a beginner go for it without hesitation.

This is an amazing starter telescope! You can get a comfortable view of Jupiter and it’s moons with the eyepieces provided! You can also see some deep space objects like The Orion Nebula. The most zoom I’ve been able to get out of this scope was with a 2x Barlow and a 10mm eyepiece. This was a great combo for Orion Nebula and Saturn! I tried using a 7mm and 2x Barlow but you lose the focus at that point. Tip: try using 1.25” planetary filters and you will see a hint of the lines on Jupiter The set up is really easy and the red dot sight is pretty accurate once aligned. All in all I’m obsessed with this scope :)

Wanted to get a telescope to share with my two boys 13/15yr old. And I was going to buy something else till I found this. Did my research on it and found that with teenage kids this may be a great way to get them involved without loosing interest and going back the their phones. Once this is set up, it’s super simple to find things to look at. Getting on target and viewing deep space instantly is the best way to have them stay involved. It’s not the most powerful but it’s super easy to find the nights sky. Absolutely recommend this telescope to anyone who wants to space out. I have to say I'm very happy with my purchase! This is my first telescope and so far I have learned so much about what is out there in the universe! Once you learn how to align the red dot scope finder you'll be fine. I've seen Helix nebula, Jupiter, Saturn Mars and I won't forget about the Moon!

I am new to astronomical viewing and after looking at reviews I went with this one. The star finder software on the phone works great. The eye pieces that came with it are actually really good. I bought an extra eye piece from Celstron so I could get a bigger view. I’ve also bought the telephone mount so I could use my phone to take pictures. I’ve enjoyed this telescope a lot. Plan to purchase filters and additional eye pieces.

Great telescope. It’s pretty clear looking at the moon and star clusters. The app is great too. Makes it much easier to find things that I’d like to view. Would recommend to anyone not wanting to spend over a thousand for a good scope and still get a good quality scope.

This is a pretty decent telescope for novice. I bought this for my wife because she likes to look at the moon and stars. You can see great details on the Moon. And some planets if you zero it in good. Only wish it came with some color filters to view more details of the moon and some planets. For the price to get into this hobby and to show enthusiasm once you get to see strong details of objects is well worth it. 1 star deducted just for the sturdyness when viewin things. Kinda wobbly when you're trying to get it focused.

I really enjoy this telescope. The phone app is daddy to use and works well. Grady for learning the sky. The telescope is capable, slightly shaky at higher magnification (5mm ). The eyepieces are not great and worth upgrading.

Great starter for you want to get into this sort of stuff, just a sure to buy more lenses for it for better enjoyment.

I have some few problems with the telescope. The 10mm eyepiece isn’t good enough to see big objects in space. It’s suppose to be good enough to see further. Pls make the 10mm eyepiece more better so that I’m able to study astronomy.

Love this Telescope. It’s perfect for beginners and intermediate users. Bought it for my daughter and she was able to quickly get it setup and started stargazing within 15 min once it was assembled. Assembly took about 20 min. Photo of the moon was taken with an iPhone through the lens eye piece. Such a great purchase.

The thing sucks at night, we read everything and pit everything correctly and we read take it outside in the day then we took it out at night can’t see S.i. … we don’t know what happing and it’s really annoying. We got two for our two boys 11 and 20 . We need help really!!

Amazing! Great for beginners although kinda priceyn but so far the best!

The actual telescope is a fine starter option, and smart sense is awesome. The porblem comes down to the tripod, it is so wobbly that it is almost impossible to properly view anything. I would go with a donsonian mount for better experiences.

The Celestron Starsense Explorer 130mm DX telescope is absolutely the best! The purchase from Bestbuy and the extremely fast shipping was excellent!!!!! I can't recommend this amazing telescope enough! 5 stars all the way!!!!!

This is soo pretty! Plus easy to install, haven’t used it for long but so far so good!
