Cloakroom - Further Out - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Around the World in 17 Christmas SongsEverything glows and sparkles, festive aromas fill the air, and in the distance, you can hear carol singing-Christmas is a feast for all the senses. Though decorations and culinary preferences around the globe may differ, there is one thing that always fits right in at Yuletide the radiant sound of brass music. We were invited to present the annual Berliner Philharmoniker Christmas Family Concert in 2023 and decided to take the audience on a musical journey to the countries the Berlin Philharmonic Brass ensemble members come from. Each of us chose a favourite song from his or her home country, which meant we all discovered music we may never have had a chance to hear otherwise. To arrange the pieces, we turned to a good friend who has been arranging for us for many years-Joshua Davis, principal trombone of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. He knows us well and, exclusively for us, he has made each Christmas song an individual showpiece-some traditional, some more jazzy, and others new and surprising. The buzz generated by this Family Concert was such that we were inundated with requests to record the pieces. To our delight, Berliner Philharmoniker Recordings agreed to produce an album with us, and we are happy and proud to present to you Frohe Weihnachten! For this , we have augmented our original song selection with further beautiful discoveries from countries like Greece, Ukraine, and Poland. Now that this very special Christmas Album Tracks 1. 2015 . One of many alter-egos of the notorious Dutch industrial black metal outfit Gnaw Their Tongues, Cloak of Altering returns to deliver the follow-up to the maniacal 2014 album Plague Beasts, unleashing yet another brain-scrambling blast of mutated symphonic black metal, nightmarish breakcore madness and hellish electronics fused together into a sweat-soaked, chrome-plated nightmare. Compared to previous works, the seven-song Manifestation is a slightly less chaotic monstrosity, giving these blackened maelstroms added room to breathe, but the cumulative assault continues to thoroughly scorch the listener. The sound is still rooted in a bizarre confluence of synth-drenched black metal, skewed industrial heaviness and fractured Planet Mu-esque electronic music, seemingly as informed by the hallucinatory throes of early Coil and the violent breakcore of Bong-Ra and Venetian Snares as it is by classic Nordic black metal. Strange contrapuntal riffs weave drunkenly amid crackling electronic glitch and eerie drones. Mournful synthscapes unfold across glacial rhythms and distorted doom-laden dirges. Blasts of foul, industrialized death metal pummel erupt alongside ominous piano figures and swells of sickening orchestral dissonance. Album Tracks 1. Manifestation 2. -3.003486962(6)+-10-66 3. Stretching Infinity 4. Cave Systems of the Outer Moons 5. Hidden Celestial Deity 6. Black Hole Cloaks 7. Parasitic Altering Sickness
