One of best brewers in the market
The brewer makes excellent coffee. Brew time is very good and coffee taste is excellent.

The perfect drip coffee maker.
My second cuisinart brew central brewer. The first made about 1200 pots of coffee before showing it's age. Simply well made. Simply reliable. Sort of perfect. Basic LED display clock and timer that's easy to program. Only drawback, seeing the fill lines for the water isn't as user-friendly as the old Mr. Coffee transparent well on the side with the cups lines; you have to look inside the well to see the linear "steps", but if you trust your initial measure of water from the coffee pot itself you don't need to double check it that way.

Great So Far
Bought this 2 months ago and so far it is working great. Makes good coffee and relatively easy to clean. I use the No 4 filters instead of the gold filter because the gold filter is a little messy to clean.

Nice coffee brewer
I purchased this coffee brewer to replace a 2 in 1 brewer to save counter space. I read a lot of reviews,and settled on this brewer. My friend and coworker recommended this one too. Coffee brews 8 to ten cups fairly quick. The coffee is also hot. I use it everyday. The 1 to 4 cup feature works good. The hot plate setting on low keeps coffee hot for 2 hours . I have not used the timer. This coffee maker is the best one I've owned so far. I've taken my own coffee to work in a thermos for 20 years .Time will tell about durability.

Why my coffee maker brewing vey strong coffee how can I change to brew just regular coffee
You're putting too much coffee. Start with a table spoon per cup of water added. If that is still too strong, add less table spoons per cup of water (ex. 4 cups of water, 3 tablespoons of coffee).

How to self clean
Put a cup of vinegar in a full pot of water. Brew it followed by a full pot of plain water. The clean light should go out.

Water just sits in the insert filter. Received this from among my mother's possessions after she died. No book. Should I take this in to Best Buy to have them look at it? I'm unfamiliar with This type of coffee maker. Machine appears to work at first.
Carafe lid pushes up button that descends from the bottom of the filter area above the carafe. you can easily push it up with your finger and see if the water comes out. It is almost impossible for it to stick if the carafe and lid are inserted because it moves up about 3/8 inch. But if very old it is possible for stuff to clog the valve hole. So if you can press the valve up and still no water dripping then take out the gold filter basket, look at the valve and see if it is clogged. Once you get it to drain, you might try cleaning by pressing the clean button, filling the unit with 1/2 white vinegar 1/2 water then turn the unit on. It runs through slowly so the warm vinegar dissolves the salts. Just be sure your valve is open and unclogged first. It is pretty simple to maintain. only one moving part, the valve and the operator is the carafe lid or your finger or a fork if you have hot water in the thing.
