A: No, it’s a powered subwoofer with an automatic power-off feature. When the receiver it is not pushing power to it and the receiver is powered off, the Sub goes into a “standby” mode. When the receiver turns back on, it sends a power signal back to the Sub and also turns the Sub back on as well. Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the Sub to come back on from the “standby” mode, depending on how powerful your receiver is. I always leave mine on.
Q: This is a 300W RMS subwoofer, not a 750W per Definitive Tech.
A: Ok. 750W is maximum output. For everyday listening the sub puts out 300W.
Q: Will the screw-in SVS subwoofer Isolation Feet work with this subwoofer?
A: Yes but you don't need them. The ProSub 1000 has adjustable feet. All 4 can be finely tuned to your preferences.
A: Please contact Bose customer service at https://pro.bose.com/en_us/contact_pro/contact_us.html
A: They are currently on backorder.
A: This subwoofer will work with a Pioneer Elite receiver. The Pro 1000 can be hooked up to any receiver with a subwoofer pre out. It also has the option for high level input via speaker wire.
Q: what type of DT speakers would be suitable to connect to this subwoofer??'Thanks
A: You really need a separate receiver and at least a decent pair of front speakers to start with. The amount of bass you get from this sub will overpower a system or have to be turned down so low to hear the highs and mods coming from the front speaker on a sound bar system. I’d recommend getting a powered receiver like denon or Yamaha or whatever you like just so it’ll put out enough power to properly push a nice pair of front speakers. Denon has great bookshelf speakers that would work in the 1000 series. Start out getting just two if budget is an issue then get two mor to add a center left right or a rear left right depending on your setup. You will not be disappointed simply using the bookshelf speaker as the only speakers in your system with the sub. My bad you will also need a nice center channel as most of the dialogue will be coming from that. Those can get a little pricey but if you’re like me and really want clean sound at high volume then this is in my option the most important speaker of any surround system. Hope this helps.
Q: Does this sub go to the amp with a single line or do you have to use the speaker wiring harnesses?
A: You really should use a sub speaker cable. Doesn’t need to be the most expensive one out there. This sub has a built in amp so the receiver is just a conduit to the sub. It’s putting no power to the sub.
