About this product
Vinyl LP pressing. The Deslondes are a five-piece band from New Orleans. The band splits up songwriting and lead vocal duties among it's five members, continuing it's democratic ethos and musical versatility. Multiple members have released solo recordings between their sophomore , Hurry Home (2016) and their latest Ways & Means but throughout the time between albums the Deslondes continued to build on their inventive take on New Orleans country and R&B. Ways & Means finds the band leaning on the country-folk of their debut along with the sometimes-psychedelic, electrified gospel-soul sound of Hurry Home. The sound will continue to draw comparisons to the country-funkiness of The Band, Link Wray and others but Ways & Means is the sound of a band that understands the history of American music, while embracing their own contemporary approach. Album Tracks 1. Good to Go 2. Five Year Plan 3. Ways & Means 4. South Dakota Wild One 5. Consider Me 6. Howl at the Moon 7. Home Again 8. Wild Eden 9. Standing Still 10. Dunes 11. Tomorrow Morning 12. Bound By Love 13. Sweet 14. Hero

Hailed by NPR as Inchdeft assemblers of a sound that traverses decades and styles with humble grace,Inch New Orleans band The Deslondes mine from the rich history of American music to craft their compelling and wholly unique eponymous debut album, due June 9 on New West Records. Co-produced by the band and in-demand producer Andrija Tokic (Benjamin Booker, Alabama Shakes, Hurray for the Riff Raff) at his Nashville studio The Bomb Shelter, the 12 tracks are influenced by classic soul, rock 'n' roll, R&B, folk, roots country, swamp-boogie, honky-tonk and pre-war music and introduce a collective of gifted singer-songwriters with a deep love for the past and a palpable passion for the present. InchThey manage to resurrect a lost sound, exclaimed Rolling Stone in their Inch20 Reasons To Love This YearInch preview, adding, InchStax and Sun records are distinct touch points, as are upright-bass-driven melodies - while giving it a modern, vibrant swing, building on the foundations of old-time traditions without sounding like they're stepping out of a time machine.Inch Comprised of five distinct songwriting voices, The Deslondes endeavor to carry on the traveling troubadour tradition of their heroes Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams and Townes Van Zandt. The Deslondes have also toured the country extensively and have supported the Alabama Shakes, Old Crow Medicine Show, Hurray for the Riff Raff, The Lumineers, John Fullbright, Michael Kiwanuka, Spirit Family Reunion and performed at last summer's Newport Folk Festival.
