The celebrated Dover Quartet, the young, Grammy-nominated ensemble brimming with prestigious awards and residencies, concludes it's critically acclaimed, three-volume Beethoven cycle with the composer's five monumental, revolutionary Late Quartets and imposing Grosse Fugue. The triple-album comprises Beethoven's very last compositions - remarkable and often daunting works that upended the concept of the string quartet. Many critics and scholars consider them the ultimate expression of Beethoven's artistry. At the same time, lyrical, songlike InchvocalInch writing pervades the Late Quartets, delighting the same audiences who flocked to Rossini's operas. The Dover's first two Beethoven installments were greeted with ecstatic reviews InchBeethoven would find it hard to believe that his quartets could be played with such perfection of execution, such beauty of tone, such nuance of expression, and such keen understanding of his music's meaning and intent.Inch (Fanfare) InchTheir Beethoven is, simply, perfection.Inch (Classical CD Reviews) Album Tracks 2. Quartet No. 12 in E-flat major, Op. 127~Adagio, ma non troppo e molto cantabile 1. Grosse Fuge in B-flat major, Op. 133 6. Quartet No. 16 in F major, Op. 135~Allegretto
Cremation Lily's Dreams Drenched In Static exists at the horizon of consciousness and heavy experimental music. Through the use of frenetic vocal melodies, tape degradation, and guitar noise, the album documents the liminal moments at the edge of sleep, and the distressing thoughts that often accompany late-night R.E.M. disturbances. The lyrics were largely written at three in the morning and serve to evoke the depression and meditations on death that seem to haunt these early hours.Based in London, England, Cremation Lily is the project of Zen Zsigo. Like many Flenser artists, Cremation Lily is difficult to classify. Starting out in 2009 as a sample-based ambient artist, Cremation Lily has evolved to incorporate more rock-based guitar instrumentation and influence from a wide range of genres such industrial, shoegaze, tape loops, noise, and power electronics.Although rooted in electronic music, Cremation Lily shares similarities with other Flenser artists like Planning For Burial and Have a Nice Life, as well as black metal. Dreams Drenched In Static is the first Cremation Lily album to primarily rely on guitar and vocal-based contributions, and is the project's most intentional and developed work to date. Album Tracks 1. Barely Remembered 2. Dreams Drenched in Static 3. Wavering Blood 4. I'm Done (Indefinite Light) 5. Body on a Lake 6. Moonlight Doses 7. Selfless 8. Overflowing Velvet Tide 9. I Need to Stop Blaming Myself 10. In Pain, Surrendering
