When I saw the pre order, I wasn’t even sure if a new remake that had slipped by me during Covid so I rushed to order without checking. Coolest steel box and display but it’s simply a remastered version of one of my old, old, old favorites. Old meaning it doesn’t really have all of the same pizzazz as some newer releases when it comes to overhead atmos surround speaker experience

A great sci-fi classic. Looks fantastic in 4K. Beautiful artwork as well.

This is a super weird movie. If you haven't seen it, recognize that it may not be for you. But in the "culty" world of cinema, this is a legendary and notable film (whether you like it or not!) for a bunch of reasons. As far as the film transfer, this is a solid presentation of Dune. However, it is far from a definitive version. I suspect, now that Dune is being remade, that this older Lynch-directed version will get a new release and will most likely be remastered in 4K. However, that edition will be comparatively expensive. Might be better to just get this version for cheap before it is replaced.

I have watch this movie so many times. The TV series they tried to do did not do this movie justice. Sting skinny, Patrick Stewart as one of the warriors all for the "Spice." I just had to purchase it on blu ray for better quality

This is not a review of the discs. I own the steelbox DVD 1984 version which includes both the original theatrical release and the extended versions. As with the LOTR extended version movies, the Dune extended version is so much better. I will not upgrade to blu-ray or 4K until the longer version is released!

The movie Dune is loved or hated as a movie adaptation of Herbert’s book. My review is not of the movie but of the Blu ray. The features are awesome, the menu is great and the picture quality is remarkable. I have seen the digital version available on Amazon Prime and while it’s a digital transfer/version, the Blu ray looks better and the sound is better too. The deleted scenes are cool but don’t help with the storyline. The fx feature spots on the mind of David Lynch are really worth the price of the Blu ray. If you like Dune you’ll love it more on Blu ray!

David Lynch's Dune isn't a direct adaption of the novel, but an interesting take and some great performances.

One of the best sci-fi movies of my generation, Really strange David Lynch directing not particularly a faithful adaptation of the novel but a good movie just the same

The film Dune is often bashed, but I believe it’s a masterpiece of sci-fi cinema. The plot is complex but it’s no harder to follow than Game of thrones.

First off, great movie. However, when I purchased this there were two SKUs for the same Dune 4k version of the movie. SKU 35386783 and SKU 6485950. The SKU 35386783 was $10 more. I ordered the higher priced SKU thinking it came with a collectable Steelcase or some additional features. It does not. In fairness, the specs did not mention that it did, I just assumed it did due to it's higher price point. I confirmed this with Best Buy Agent via online chat that they are exactly the same movie, features, etc. Buyer beware!

The extras on this disk are amazing. I learned alot about the troubled production of Dune. I honestly did not know that they even created a toy line for this film. The 4k looks great. The transfer is well done IMO. There is some heavy grain in some scenes and the effects are a little obvious in some of the later scenes, but the amazing costumes and set design are all here in all their glory. This was a pretty ambitious project probably a bit ahead of its time, and I blame the quality of those scenes on the era and not the transfer. All in all, if you are fascinated by Dune, then this ARROW release is a must gave.

I haven't seen this since I saw it originally back in 1984 but found myself reciting lines along with the dialog. It's definitely an interesting take on a massive book and does a decent job of condensing it all into a little over 2 hrs. The dialog is stilted in places, but maybe that makes it more memorable.

The sound quality mix into 4K was excellent through my soundbar. The video transfer into 4K was also excellent. I never saw the original movie until now, I enjoyed it but I noticed that they had to cut out details of the movie that you see in the new one, and vice versa things that you didn't see in the new movie but you saw in the old one which gave some clarity. All in all I enjoyed the movie it is worth getting, and if you're a fan of the franchise it's worth getting.

Long movie that is hard to comprehend seeing for the first time. We have watched this movie several times and each time pick up some new details. Still need to watch a couple of more times. We don't get tired seeing it.

This movie got a bad rap when it came out. There were parts that I was not happy with, but when you take into account the difficulty of making a film from a book with so much going on mentally it is really amazing what they accomplished. They also had Frank Herbert as advisor. It stands up well.

I bought this to play and have on in the background. I've seen it a lot over the years since it's release, and I will watch my favorite parts when my attention is not on something else. Loving the novel (I read it about once a year), it is nice to see some of it come to life on the screen. The music score is good, and reminds me of Queen's Flash Gordon soundtrack, which was fun. If you have never seen, I recommend it.

David Lynch's Dune has been a favorite of mine since its release more than 30 years ago. The Blu-Ray disc is a great upgrade from the DVD. The big budget now glows on the screen with the best view ever of the elaborate and beautifully designed sets and costumes. The extra features, which were not on my DVD, are a great bonus. There are features on the design of the sets and costumes, as well as filming of the special effects and miniatures, which were impressively state of the art in their day. Very happy with my purchase.

I am reviewing only the 4k transfer, not the movie itself. Arrow video has a very nice library of high quality transfers. Sound mix is good on this, but no atmos or dolby vision. Dts master audio is great on a 7.1 surround sound. Picture quality is nice to me. Ive only seen this on tv in tge 90s, so anything os a upgrade for me. Lol
