Replaced an older JVC projector. The Epson was mounted on the ceiling as was the old JVC. An extra pair of hands would have helped but it was not that big a deal. Took a bit of time to calibrate the projector but once it was dialed in it has worked fine.

I waited a long time to upgrade to 4k and even though I know that this is "Faux K" I am truly satisfied with the image quality. I was fortunate enough to have tested it against a native Sony 4K and it was clearly overpowered by the brightness of this Epson and the sharpness is "negligible" at the very best! I replaced a 5020UB that served me well for many years and is now relegated to outdoor theater duty... So if you are on the fence.... jump in!

I purchase the Epson Pro Cinema 6050ub about 5 months ago from another authorize vender after going back and forth between this and the JVC-DLA790r. I have to say I'm very pleased with the decision I made. Even Though the JVC have a slightly better black level, the Epson is brighter with brighter colors and image on screen. I replace my Epson Home Cinema 4010 with this Epson Pro Cinema 6050ub. The first thing I noticed when I set it up and turn it on was its brightness and vivid colors, even brighter than the 4010. Its basically the same projector, except for the case color and a few notable upgrades. The 4010 has a 200,000:1 contrast ratio and the 6050ub has 1,200,000.1 contrast ratio which is far better. The 6050ub does process the HDR10 more precisely and does pixel shifting more efficiently than the HC 4010. Also this projector upgraded its HDMI ports to 2.0b and accepts the full 18gbps 4k HDR10@60hz. I played a few 4k HDR10 content on this projector and I have to say it looks awesome and the image was vivid and bright. The black levels on certain movies looked great. Its on the same level as my previous JVC projector. I think the 6050ub rivals true native 4k uhd projectors Ive seen.

I absolutely love this projector. The Epson is amazing. I don’t think you can buy a better projector at this price range. It put out a fantastic picture. I have it in my living room on a 150 inch projector screen. The Lumens the colors the quality is just great. Definitely $4,000 dollars well spent.

The Epson Pro Cinema 6050UB is an amazing projector with crisp blacks and sharp picture quality. The menu is very detailed and lets your play around with the best settings. BestBuy installation was completed without any issues. I use the projector mostly with my AppleTV. Gaming experience has been good. Movie watching experience is the best. I get movie theater quality videos.

This is my first foray into the world of projectors. I demoed Sony and JVC native 4k projectors along with the Epson 6050. To my eyes i could not tell the difference between them and the 6050. I decided to go with the Epson. For the price including a 3yr warranty, the mount, and an extra bulb it was a no brainer. Once i got it home i was a little nervous as i had never hung a projector before. It ended up being one of the easiest things i have done. The adjustments of getting it sized up to my 120" screen was easy too. I was amazed with the picture quality right out of the box without having it calibrated. The picture quality is amazing. My room has one window across from the direction of my screen and the 6050 has no problem dealing with the light. I would recommend this projector to anyone who is considering it,

I did a lot of research on projectors. This thing is incredible. It’s so bright you can use it during the day but auto dims at night. It can be adjusted to fit multiple applications and the picture is better than Sony or other competitors. If you want to see it in action, find a Best Buy magnolia and ask. Awesome. Perfect for my setup

Is a good projector but very expensive for what it offer, very clear but I think is overprice, I had the model prior this one and I can’t tell the different other than that I enjoy having a big screen.

Upgrade from my 5030ub. Brighter, sharper and better quality. Definitely worth the money spent. Football is unreal on a 200 inch screen. Like being on the field.

I switched to projectors over a decade ago and will never go back to regular TVs. The jump from my Epson 4000 to the 6050ub is absolutely unreal. Can't wait to see how my new Xbox Series X looks on this projector when the console finally comes in. If you are on the fence at all about making the investment in this... do it. You will never want to go back to a TV again.

I owned the 5050UB for 2 weeks before trading it in at Best Buy for the 6050UB. Was it worth it? Depends on how much value you put into the extras. Both projectors are nearly identical. The only differences are as follows: * 5050UB has a white housing, while the 6050UB has a black housing. * 6050UB comes with a projector mount, extra bulb, longer warranty, and dust cover for the rear ports. The 5050UB does not have those extras, and the warranty is not as long. * 6050UB has a claimed improvement in contrast over the 5050UB (1,200,000:1 vs 1,000,000:1). The internals are the same, but the lens on the 6050 may be slightly better to allow for this difference in contrast. The projector is fairly easy to setup, and is very quiet. In Eco mode I cannot hear it unless the room is dead silent, even then it's hardly noticeable. In Medium mode, it's slightly louder but you will most likely not be able to hear it with any sound playing from your TV/Sound System. On High mode the fan noise will be noticeable during quiet scenes in a movie and may be distracting to some. Picture quality and contrast are very good, I've been highly impressed with many of the 4K disks I've watched. I can't say how this unit compares to a native 4k projector, but the image is very sharp & bright and there is a very notable difference between watching 1080p content and 4k content. You have control over how much 'up-scaling' the projector applies to the image, and control of tone mapping for HDR sources. The projector automatically detects HDR, and will implement your chosen tone mapping settings to the image. When no HDR is detected, tone mapping is turned off. No image smoothing or interpolation is allowed when you are in 4K / Enhancement mode. At the time of this review it can only be turned on when you are viewing a 1080p source and have disabled 4k Enhancement. Gaming has been very good on this device, allowing for 4K and HDR if the console and game support it. I have not noticed any input lag, and reviews I've seen on the device show it's very gamer friendly in this regard. The firmware is upgradable via a USB stick. There is a lot of information on this projector, and the 5050UB on AVS Forums, so I suggest you do more research before making a purchase. If you don't need all the extras, the 5050UB can be picked up for significantly less and provides a nearly, if not identical picture since they have the same internals. If you do want the extra bulb, mount, and other accessories, or you want your projector in black, the 6050UB is a solid choice. Another good alternative is the BenQ HT5550 if cost is a factor.

Solid protector for my current 1080p use. Will be updating my receiver to see how it handles the 4k upscaling soon.

Well worth the investment. Everyone who has come over has stated, "This is better than going to the movies." Great picture, and with the audio set up that the Geek Squad recommended, I have amazing sound quality. You definitely get that theater feeling. It also takes gaming to a whole other level. Your games now feel like a movie that you control. Definitely no regrets what so ever. Thanks Elianny Avaolos and her team.

Have not hooked my new Epson up yet as waiting for Christmas, but have seen one, fantastic.

Was originally going with JVC NX5 before cancelling and purchasing the Epson Pro Cinema 6050. It's a beautiful projector and cost a couple thousand less than the JVC. Plus, you get the mount and an extra bulb. Can't beat that. Although it's "faux" K, you can't tell. Great purchase.

Amazing picture, the fan is noisier than I anticipated. When I saw the projector live I didn't hear the fan noise. specs say 20-31 my actual is 54.66 - 42.17 and an average of 48.42 for a minute.
