Limited green colored vinyl LP pressing. 2023 by the Canadian band. Such Ferocious Beauty is vintage Cowboy Junkies and another dimension from the lo-fi Canadian band comprised of, well, family. A tangle of sonic textures, Beauty is a rumination on aging, losing parents, facing mortality and creating space for one's life in the midst of the ruin that comes from merely living. InchMike has never shied away from the darker, harder and sometimes uglier realities of our human condition,Inch Margo Timmins explains of the band's singular focus, Inchnor has he shied from it's beauty. Thankfully, with one comes the other.Inch Album Tracks 1. What I Lost 2. Flood 3. Hard to Build. Easy to Break 4. Circe and Penelope 5. Hell Is Real 6. Shadows 2 7. Knives 8. Mike Tyson (Here It Comes) 9. Throw a Match 10. Blue Skies
Hang is Foxygen's third album for Jagjaguwar, and their first proper studio record, recorded in Los Angeles, CA at Electro Vox Studios. Hang features Steven Drozd of the Flaming Lips, as well as Brian and Michael D'Addario of the Lemon Twigs as players on the album. Hang also features a 40+ piece symphony orchestra on every track. Trey Pollard from Spacebomb arranged and conducted the orchestral parts, with additional arranging from Matthew E. White. Foxygen is the Big Bang of two combusting minds. It's the splayed Galaxy of polar geniuses Sam France and Jonathan Rado. It's a handshake with a knife behind your back. A sleepless night in a five star hotel. You listen to Hang properly. You take in each moment. Each new melody that threads forward from the fingertips of one of this generation's finest piano men in Rado. Album Tracks 1. Follow the Leader 2. Avalon 3. Mrs. Adams 4. America 5. On Lankershim 6. Upon a Hill 7. Trauma 8. Rise Up
Deluxe Edition. Seeing Other People is curiously positioned as Foxygen's most recent last-ever album. With every album the band dies; with every album the band is reborn. But unlike the last-ever Foxygen albums before it, this one seems to have a self-effacing bittersweetness to it that signifies some sort of passing; some sort of white flag. But it SOUNDS in no way like a band giving up. It has experiments in tone and genre the likes of which we've not heard on a Foxygen record since... Starpower?; since 21st Century?; since Take the Kids? You don't need our hot take on this thing. Album Tracks 1. Work 2. Mona 3. Seeing Other People 4. Face the Facts 5. Livin' a Lie 6. The Thing Is 7. News 8. Flag at Half-Mast 9. The Conclusion
