Franck / Sodergren / Jordy - Sonate for VLN & Pno - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This entertaining album features music of our time arranged for and performed by brass. The Brass Band Blechlkang, which consists of around 35 musicians, is made up of brass instruments and large classical percussion. With the exception of the percussion and the trombones, only instruments from the Saxhorn family are used. It is played on cornets, alto horns, baritones, euphonies, trombones and tubas. The structural similarity of the instruments used results in a particularly soft mixed sound. In combination with the ensemble-specific dominance of the bass register (up to five tubes), the typical, unmistakable sound of a brass band comes into play, which is compared over and over again with a Inchsoulful organInch. Album Tracks 1. Legend in Brass 2. Oregon 3. STÅL Himmel 4. A Nordic Trilogy 5. The Crazy Brass Machines 6. African Odyssey 7. The Floral Dance 8. Windows of the World 9. The Lion King

Johann Sebastian Bach's flute sonatas undoubtedly require congenial partners, who play together in an unpretentious, equally important way - in the truest sense of the word, in concert. This is brilliantly fulfilled by Lars Ulrik Mortensen with his hardly surpassable vocal playing on the harpsichord and Linde Brunmayr-Tutz with virtuosity and full sound on the transverse flute. On the 10th anniversary of Gustav Leonhardt's death, the album also contains a unique sound document it is the first recording of Gustav Leonhardt, Nikolaus Harnoncourt - both play viola da gamba here! - and also of Eduard Melkus. Under the direction of Josef Mertin, doyen of early music in Vienna, they recorded the 6th Brandenburg Concerto on original instruments for the first time in 1950.

Since the surprisingly successful InchPresenceInch in 2015 (which even spawned a minor underground hit with the single InchBlackInch) only one album has left the Twice a Man assembly line the ambient InchCocoonInch from 2019, which was released as a digital album, a 59 minute long music video and a limited edition CD. Another InchpopInch-album was however inevitable. Mirroring the production process of InchPresenceInch, but with a twist that puts the emphasis on slightly more organic arrangements. The established wall of sound, the expressive vocals and the analog synthesizers are still prominent, but they're backed up by heavier percussion, more distortion and lyrical themes that are a lot more ambiguous this time around. The bulk of InchOn the other side of the mirrorInch consists of a brutal and hard-hitting trio of songs, InchBreathInch, InchRain of ShameInch and the first single InchModern WorldInch. With the addition of the psychedelic InchGrowingInch, the border-line EBM of InchNakedInch, and the quite extraordinary InchFirefliesInch, the end-result is a versatile and very strong album. Album Tracks 1. Breath 2. Fireflies 3. Rain of Shame 4. Naked 5. Growing 6. Modern World
