Q: How can I register my Garmin GTM 60 Traffic Receiver?
A: You do NOT have to register the Garmin Traffic Receiver. In fact you CAN'T! I received mine and attempted to register it as the instructions with it indicated. I went to the Garmin website it mentioned and I could not see where the registration would be possible. I called Garmin and waited on hold for almost an hour. When the agent came on I asked the exact question you just asked. She kind of laughed and said, "I don't know why the instructions with it say to register it, because you no longer need to. Just start using it in your car and it'll be fine." It does seem to work fine. So hopefully I just saved you an hour of wasted time. You're welcome. :)

A: Unfortunately, the cable from the Drive 60 will not provide traffic for the Drive 61 LMT-S. A phone with data plan is needed for the Live Traffic provided by the Smartphone Link app. If you don’t have a Smartphone, the device is compatible with the GTM™ 36 Traffic Receiver (010-01009-02).

A: I feel that it should work on any Garmin GPS unit, unless it is an old one. I would go on a Garmin site and talk to a tech team about this though. It is a 3D one, and it needs to be one that can have that graphics capability. I hope it works for you. If it doesn't, keep the packaging and the receipt, and Best Buy is good about refunding your money
A: You can find the Garmin GTM 36 Traffic Receiver on eBay or Amazon easily. You're better off getting the GTM 60 though, since it updates it's traffic information every 30 seconds, whereas the GTM 36 only updates every 5 minutes. This could mean the difference in being alerted to take the nearest exist and avoid a delay or driving right past the only opportunity to avoid it.
