Glay - G4.5-Democracy 2019 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Their seventh full-length takes aim at those who use the bible to control the masses. The Bush Administration's legacy should keep the band in songs for years, from the war in Iraq to the economy. The group writes songs to build community and union, to create awareness and preparedness for when the students and workers of the world push to level the playing field and bring equality. They raise funds for those who need it most and have created the non-profit organizations Military Free Zone (combating a provision in the No Child Left Behind act that invades students' privacy for military recruitment purposes) and Underground Action Alliance (a networking site for social justice). These are an extension of what Anti-Flag's vision of punk rock is, was, and will always be. Album Tracks 1. Sodom, Gomorrah, Washington D.C. (Sheep in Shepherds Clothing) 2. The Economy Is Suffering... Let It Die 3. The Gre(A)T Depression 4. We Are the One 5. You Are Fired (Take This Job) 6. This Is the First Night 7. No War Without Warriors (How Do You Sleep?) 8. When All the Lights Go Out 9. On Independence Day 10. The Old Guard 11. Teenage Kennedy Lobotomy

Gila is an electronic music producer from Denver, Colorado.  His debut album, Energy Demonstration, blends bass-heavy, leftfield techno with detailed ambient textures, and showcases Gila's impeccable production style. Energy Demonstration - out 20th November on Lex Records - follows earlier, club-focused releases on XL Recordings, LuckyMe & Benji B's Deviation.  Gila, (pronounced Inchhee-laInch) takes his name from the Gila monster, the only venomous lizard native to the United States - slow yet powerful with a potentially deadly bite, this colourful reptile possesses many of the same qualities as Gila's music.  Gila started to make his mark as one half of rap duo, Gorgeous Children, before striking out on his own. As Gila, his signature, hard-edged sounds have been championed by Thom Yorke, Flying Lotus, Benji B, Jacques Greene, and led to collaborations with Boys Noize and Rustie.   Since signing with Lex, Gila's released a pair of EPs; 2019's Trench Tones and 2020's Three Riders.   As a DJ Gila has shared stages with Metro Boomin, Telefon Tel Aviv and fellow LuckyMe alumni Rustie & Hudson Mohawke. Deep Politics was conceived during the lengthiest gestation period between Grails albums, and reflects a deeper, more educated level of concentration. In their ongoing exploration of occult/fringe culture and the rich history of film music, they have cultivated a unique environment that inspires both an eternal sense of longing and an indelible sense of dread. Through tireless exploration and awe-inspiring execution, Grails have found their true calling as purveyors of a new kind of library music, to be discovered by future generations of crate diggers and curious forward-thinkers.
