Garbage and false advertising for a customer to want to get this and the customer service for glowforge could care less, constant problems and they refuse to help. Instead give you gift cards for more material and then wait until your warranty is up to tell you there’s nothing that can do even tho they have record of the attempt to get a replacement or refund.

My first laser engraver and cutter! It gets the job done and excellent for beginners. Instructions to set up were easy and understandable. It does run off of WIFI so if you're internet goes out that's the only thing. You can't use it if your internet is out. It uses a web browser software similar to the Cricut. I do like the automatic settings it has for their own material you can buy. They are not cheap though so I have used basswood sheets from Amazon. You just have to create your own cut and engrave settings. It's trial and error like most things. Overall again it's a really good beginner laser engraver and cutter.

This printer has been satisfying to use so far. I have been able to work with personal wood designs such as making keychains and other fun DIY projects. Very much portable and easy to use with instructions and help available throughout the internet. I must say that this model prints slower than the other advance models.

Works great. Have to clean rails and apply oil regularly so it doesn’t jump.

I have been a long time Cricut user but kept wanting a glowforge. After seeing a more affordable option, I was excited to make my purchase. It’s great that you can cut many options but you are limited to only certain colors of acrylic. The fact that it takes 3 1/2 hours to cut three small words on 1/8 cast acrylic is crazy. Wish it was better. I guess I should’ve saved up for the more expensive models.

I recently received my Glowforge Aura and I couldn’t be happier. I love how compact and lightweight it is. It is the perfect size for my desk! I also love the way it looks, unlike other lasers that are bulky and with a not so appealing design. I was really nervous to start using it but it was impressively easy to set up and to get it up and running. The installation process is very accessible and detailed and made the whole setup very simple. It only took a few minutes. I am really excited about the wide variety of materials that I can use with it. I have so many ideas in mind and I can’t wait to start experimenting with it. After setting it up I was able to work on my first project right away. It was so easy!

I'm beyond excited that an enclosed desktop laser cutter is on the market at a reasonable price. The Glowforge Aura does everything that it says it can do, but it's software is limited after you trial of premium expires. I've enjoyed cutting multiple items for my friends and family on the laser. It's fast enough for my needs, but very slow compared to more expensive alternatives. I've had no trouble cutting third party products on it (as the Glowforge ones are incredibly expensive). My major issue with this machine is the software. I knew going in that this is an internet connected device. No internet, no work. But Glowforge locks some simple tools behind their paywall for no real reason. I refuse to pay a month or yearly fee to use my laser. Without the premium service you are limited on file size of SVG files (100kb), you cannot create your own presets for non-proofgrade materials, and you can't access fonts. There are many more things that you cannot do without premium but these three bother me the most. I consider these pretty basic offerings and should be included with the machine. At the end of the day I'm thrilled to have a desktop laser in my house that I can create, test, and experiment with. If Glowforge took away some of the imposed limitations, this would be a smashing deal.

I recently purchased the Glowforge Aura craft printer and have been impressed so far. Setup was a breeze—about 20 minutes from unboxing to printing. The clear step-by-step videos made the process easy to follow. A computer and home WiFi are required for setup, but mobile devices can be used afterward. The Glowforge platform is intuitive, with a clean interface. The box includes one piece of "proofgrade" wood, perfect for getting started without sourcing materials. For my first project, I made the Glowforge gift box using 20 lb paper as recommended. Masking tape (not included) secured the paper, and the print took just five minutes. The precision exceeded my expectations. My second project was a snap-and-store box with custom-traced artwork. Navigating the interface took some trial and error, but I figured out how to trace my design and add cut-outs. The print took 45 minutes, which surprised me, but the intricate details were impressive—especially on the "proofgrade light basswood plywood." One cut didn’t go all the way through, but I could pop it out with some force. Peeling off masking tape left soot on my fingers, which is expected with burned wood. I also engraved a side of the box (see flowers). Sizing and placing the art was easy, but removing the masking tape beforehand affected the result—I’d engrave first next time. I used a personal air filter instead of venting outside. It filtered well, though a slight burning odor lingered briefly. Overall, the Glowforge Aura is a powerful yet user-friendly craft printer. With excellent guidance materials and impressive results, it’s a fantastic addition to any craft space.

I've mostly been using it on paper for stencils so far. It's nice and easy to pop in .SVG files, you can rescale, rotate, reposition. Decent size relative to the cutting area, and you can open the sides to slide through longer material. It comes in a nice box that I'm holding onto for whenever I move. Pretty minimal plastic packaging. I got the filter, it turns off and on by itself. With paper there's a little bit of a burnt wood smell that dissipates quickly. I've got some 1/8" basswood I'm going to try out next. Overall really solid if you're looking for a plug-n-play laser.

I had been wanting a Glowforge for quite some time, but unfortunately, it was out of my budget. So, when the Aura came out, I was thrilled because it was more affordable. I even went the extra mile and drove two hours to Best Buy to purchase it. However, my excitement quickly turned into disappointment. The machine started malfunctioning frequently, and the support team was of no help. It was incredibly inconvenient that their support was only available from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 3 pm, making it difficult for people like me with an 8-5 schedule. Even when I managed to get through to support after waiting for an hour, they would just blame me and say that the machine was dirty, even after only a few uses. In frustration, I even sent them their own pictures when they asked for photos for the umpteenth time, but they still found an issue. I strongly advise against wasting your money on this product.

Works really well but unfortunately cannot cut white or clear acrylics

Laser is good, but the program is JUNK! It is a cloud/internet based program and if you don't pay for the premium service for $50/month, after your free trial you won't be able to do anything with your laser. Can't input text, can't edit photo uploads. NOTHING!! USELESS!!

Not worth the money .. doesn’t cut or engrave a lot white acrylic and or colors.. very limited . Even with glowforge proof grade materials you still have to run the cub or engraving a couple of times to get decent results.

Fast delivery. Setup was actually straight forward. Obviously it pays to prepare beforehand for the exhaust system of choice ( filter or venting to outside as I did) and buy the necessary items. No issues getting the first trial on wood ready. Quite happy so far.
