Godsticks - This Is What A Winner Looks Like - VINYL LP

Recalibrating her singular journey in the British musical landscape with her most open-hearted, direct and intimate collection of material yet. Love In Constant Spectacle evokes spectacular imagery and distills the artists' vision in it's purest form, elevating her inimitable sound and poetic vision to new heights. Recapturing the melancholy of her early work whilst propelling it forward, she sketches scenes as we watch new colours, shapes and languages emerge and fill the frame. Love In Constant Spectacle sees her take measured steps towards a vivid, dreamlike record, that offers resolve in the face of life's inevitability. The foundations of Weaver's sound are still evident - rich motorik drums, pulsating bass, custom modded synths and exotic fuzz pedals - but the stream is awash with scrabble piece poetry and Letraset lullabies leading to rich escapism, the free abandon that you'd associate with free jazz and the avant-garde. Album Tracks 1. Perfect Storm 2. Emotional Components 3. Love in Constant Spectacle - 4. Motif 5. The Axis and the Seed 6. Is Metal 7. Happiness in Proximity 8. Romantic Worlds 9. Univers 10. Godsticks open 2020 with their new and most accomplished studio album, Inescapable. Their mix of heavy rock, progressive and alternative metal with a dynamic range of angular riffs and emotional depth will leave listeners reeling. The band's sound has refined over their releases on Kscope, beginning with the technically astounding metal on Emergence to the more industrial and progressive-influenced Faced With Rage. Now, with Inescapable, the band have channelled their energy and technical ability into the melody, phrasing and vocal performance, allowing emotion to take centre stage. It is perhaps Charles' vocals that have undergone the biggest change on Inescapable, largely as result of working closely with Kscope. Charles sings with more emotion and realises his ability to sing in higher registers, producing his best vocal performance to date. The band also invited the gifted TesseracT vocalist Daniel Tompkins to record vocal harmonies for lead track InchDenigrateInch, adding an extra layer of aggression and energy to one of the more powerful songs on the record. Inescapable was produced by James Loughrey (Skindred) and recorded at the famed heritage Monnow Valley studio. The striking new artwork incorporates the album's exploration of self-worth and insecurities. This LP edition of Inescapable is presented on 180gm heavyweight vinyl in single sleeve packaging and includes a printed inner bag featuring photography and lyrics. Godsticks are supporting the new material beginning in April with a UK tour followed by summer festival bookings. Album Tracks 1. Denigrate [03 53] 2. Victim [06 14] 3. Relief [05 40] 4.
