About This Item

Blood Red. Vinyl LP pressing. Guster is a band who's signature wit, matchless charm and dynamic style continues to chart new sonic and lyrical pathways with each album. If there were any justice, the leading indie/alternative outfit's underappreciated masterpiece, Lost and Gone Forever (1999), would have elevated the band to superstar status, and the follow-up, Keep It Together (2003), would have cemented their ascent. Four years in the making, the deeper, more textured Keep It Together saw the band return on a new tag with prime production courtesy of Ron Aniello (Lifehouse), Roger Moutenot (Yo La Tengo, Sleater Kinney) and David Henry. Available on vinyl for the first time in over 10 years, longtime fans and new converts won through the band's consistent new music releases will be eager to add Guster's classic Keep It Together to their vinyl collections.

The Cult - Pure Cult: The Singles 1984-1995 - VINYL LP
4.5(2)

The Cult were a singles band, as evidenced by the Stones-like 'Love Removal Machine' and the blazing 'Fire Woman'. The ensemble's mixture of '60s influences (no wonder Ian Astbury became the lead singer of the reformed Doors) and hard-rock power, not only helped define a whole subset of the late-'80s alternative-rock scene, it's fair to say that the groups like Stone Temple Pilots owed at least some of their success to the Cult's early flirtations with the rock mainstream. Although the set isn't chronologically ordered, 'Pure Cult' still gives a good sense of the band's surprisingly organic shift in sound, ranging from the gothy neo-psychedelia of 'She Sells Sanctuary' to the sneering rock of 'Star'. Album Tracks 1. She Sells Sanctuary 2. Fire Woman 3. Lil Devil 4. Spiritwalker 5. The Witch 6. Revolution 7. Love Removal Machine 8. Rain 9. In the Clouds 10. Coming Down 1. Edie (Ciao Baby) 2. Heart of Soul 3. Wild Flower 4. Star 5. Resurrection Joe 6. Go West 7. Sun King 8. Wild Hearted Son 9. Sweet Soul Sister
