The Hisense ULED U7 2026 TV has a lot going for it: bright, pitch perfect colors, near inky blacks, fast variable refresh rates, one of the best speaker systems on a flat panel TV, plenty of input options, and the easy-to-use Google interface. The only cons I encountered were a slightly restrictive viewing angle and a few software glitches when passing audio from internal applications to an external sound bar. Still, whether watching HD or 4K content, everything displayed looks great. Prior to this TV, I have never owned a Hisense TV, but the U7SG has really impressed me with its level of polish and features. This is an easy TV to recommend at its price point and even gives much more expensive TVs a run for their money. SETUP: Hisense includes the TV, Remote, Power Cable, stand base, stand brackets, and screws for the stand. I will say that I found set up to be a two-person job. If you are opening the TV from the top as instructed, a few components will be at the top of the box, but the base for the stand will be further down in a lower section of foam. You will need to take the TV out, being careful not to put pressure on the screen. Resting the TV on the foam included will help get the TV off the floor and make installing the stand much easier. STAND SETUP: The stand itself is designed for two settings. One setting has the TV resting near the base and the other setting raises the TV up enough to give space for soundbars. In my testing, it was enough of a cushion that I could easily set my Sony soundbar with built-in riser underneath without blocking the screen. The adjustment can give you two or three inches. It is a nice touch. You first connect two screws to the TV and the stand slides over. You then secure the TV to the stand with the additional four screws. The included documentation implied that two of the screws were in the stand itself, but I found those screws individually wrapped with the other mounting hardware. This is an exceptionally thin stand base, and Hisense has included some cable management in each leg of the stand for those that wish to keep their cables more discreet. WALL MOUNT: The TV comes compatible with standard VESA mounts and secured by M6 screws. I like the stand that came with this TV, but the ability to mount the TV to a swivel base with a bit more height is a great option. I have assessed both the included stand and a separate VESA swivel mount and both options worked great. EXPERIENCE: The Google TV setup takes about ten minutes out of the box, and it goes without saying that if you are on an Android phone, set up is a breeze as account information is transferred effortlessly with a click of a button on the phone. This is not my first TV with a Google interface, and I genuinely prefer the Google TV interface over nearly every other option out there. TV FEATURES: The TV comes with a built-in OTA tuner. The tuner is NextGenTV capable. I was able to get local broadcasts with 4K, HDR, and interactive content. The TV is also Apple Airplay compatible. Streaming content from my Apple iPad via Airplay was simple and quick. The TV comes with 4 HDMI 2.1 ports. One port is designed for eARC / ARC, but all four ports are HDMI 2.1. In addition, there is a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, ethernet port, and optical audio out. The TV comes with Alexa capabilities built in. With the USB ports, you can hook up gaming controllers, web cameras, or USB storage options to stream and view content on the TV. REMOTE: This is one of the bigger remote controls that I have used with a TV in a few years. A few buttons on the remote have backlighting when the remote detects motion. It works, but I would have liked it if the backlighting had lasted a bit longer. Remote is nearly twice the size of a FireTV remote and three times the size of an AppleTV remote; it is bigger. I do not have a problem with that, but users who struggle to keep all their remotes stored in one place might prefer a smaller option. With HDMI CEC enabled, I was able to use the TV’s remote to control devices connected to the TV such as the FireStick while using the TV remote’s volume control to turn the sound bar system up and down. PICTURE QUALITY: This Hisense TV is branded as a ULED which differs from an OLED. With an OLED, each pixel turns on or off individually whereas the ULED has zone lighting. Prior to testing this Hisense, I would have said I preferred OLED hands down for better contrasts and blacks, but the technology Hisense is employing here works very well to the point that I would honestly say OLED and ULED black levels are a coin toss for me. The contrast was much better than I expected. Colors just pop on this TV. The Quantum Dot tech produces some of the best colors I have seen on a 4K display and they were pitch perfect after minimal tweaking out of the box. Watching Dolby Vision test videos and 4K versions of color rich content, I was consistently amazed at how good color reproduction was with this TV. If you truly want to impress friends and family while showing the TV off, put on a 4K version of one of Disney’s 2D animated films. The colors are amazing. One clear winner between this TV and an OLED alternative is with the brightness. This TV gets super bright and I found myself turning down the brightness on all viewing modes. Because of the brightness capabilities, you can rest assured that the TV will look great in bright and dark rooms. The TV has numerous adjustments that can be made to brightness, color, A.I. enhancements, and motion adjustments. I highly recommend CINEMA mode for motion enhancements. I personally thought Cinema Mode was the most filmic. Turning off motion enhancements entirely resulted in a noticeable stutter in content that operated at lower frames per second. GAMING / PC CONNECTIVITY: I hooked the TV up to a gaming laptop for several hours of gaming and this display performs great. Hisense advertises that the TV has AMD FreeSync. FreeSync is a technology to synchronize the display with the source to provide smooth motion on screen. If you are like me and have gaming laptops or computers with Nvidia GSYNC, you should know that the two technologies, while not officially recognized as compatible, are essentially backwards compatible. On my NVIDIA based machines, I was able to turn GSYNC on and achieve the desired results. Just make sure you are using a high-quality HDMI 2.1 cable when you hook the TV up to your gaming device. I first used an older cable and while I got picture, HDR did not function on the older cable. With the appropriate cables, my TV detected automatically that I was hooking up a PC, but I still had to enable some game mode features such as enhanced refresh rate. CON: Viewing Angles are limited. Unfortunately this is one limitation of the traditional LCD display that is still a bit evident here. Having said that, I do not think the viewing angles are awful. Hisense has clearly made great strides here, but the TV clearly looks at its best when you are viewing it from dead center. Realistically, that is how most people will be viewing the TV anyways, but it is something to keep in mind. AUDIO: Hisense has included some of the best speakers I have ever heard on a flat panel display if not the best. This sound system is great. The TV has a built-in subwoofer and spatial speakers. It sounds incredibly good. Audio can get a bit distorted at higher listening levels, but I cannot think of a better sound system with a TV than this. I set up a surround soundbar system with this TV. Using the EARC HDMI port (HDMI 3) and a higher quality HDMI cable, using the TV with a soundbar is easy. The TV’s remote works to control the volume. Unfortunately, all I could see when changing the volume of the soundbar was an indicator on screen showing the volume levels were being changed. I could not see a number associated with a volume level. I detected a glitch with the audio passthrough that I really hope gets fixed in a future software update. The TV is equipped with an audio passthrough option so that a receiver or soundbar can decode the audio and reproduce the sound instead of having the TV process the audio. With external HDMI devices, passthrough audio worked perfectly fine, but if I wanted to watch Disney+ or AppleTV on the apps I downloaded to the TV itself, I could only get a Dolby Digital 5.1 signal when audio was passed directly to the soundbar or receiver. I prefer passthrough audio with TVs because often decoding ATMOS audio with TVs can cause stuttering or performance glitches, but I did not encounter that with this TV. So, having the TV decode the audio instead of passing it through works, but I would have preferred passthrough to be on all the time for the best compatibility with a receiver or soundbar. As of writing this, I have not found a great solution to this problem beyond turning audio passthrough on if I am using a device connected to the TV’s HDMI input. CONCLUSION: If you stuck around this long, I think it should be obvious that I have really enjoyed this TV. Picture quality has really surprised me. Colors and brightness are great. The built-in speakers make great sound. The stand that comes with the TV is minimalistic and simple to install. My only minor complaints are with the viewing angles and the passthrough audio glitches when using the TVs downloaded or built-in applications. Make sure you are using HDMI 2.1 cables for your devices to get the best features from the TV and be prepared to turn the brightness down a bit lest you wish to go blind. The TV truly is bright. Hopefully, this breakdown has been helpful. As I said at the intro, this was my first Hisense TV, but I am recommending this model to family and friends. I think it is a great TV.

The Hisense U7 series 55-inch TV is our first new large-format TV in almost 20 years. As our old one recently stopped working, this gave us the perfect opportunity to finally upgrade. While the screen diagonal on this model is a bit smaller at 55”, the unit itself is considerably lighter at just under 30.5 lbs without the stand and 37.5 with, compared to the hefty 50 lbs of our previous 60” TV. Its overall profile is also smaller since it has razor thin bezels at the top and side with only a 1/2" chin along the bottom. This TV was simple to set up, and we had it up and running in under 10 minutes after unboxing, attaching the stand, and connecting it to the internet via WiFi. When assembling the stand, you can set the height of the TV to high or low by attaching its supports to different mounting points, though the height difference is only around 1-1/4”. The angled supports both have removable covers at the back that allow you to use them for cord management. You can optionally mount the TV to the wall by removing the four large screws on the back and attaching it to an appropriately sized 400mm x 400mm VESA-compatible and weight-capacitated bracket. The built-in WiFi 6E card lets you to connect to the 6 GHz band for a faster, stronger, and more stable connection, if your network supports it. As the TV uses Google TV as its native OS, you’ll have the option to scan a QR code to set it up using a mobile device or manually log into a Google account using the remote to key in your credentials. It not only supports Google Home and Chromecast but also Apple’s AirPlay and HomeKit. For inputs, the device has four 2.1 HDMI ports and a coaxial for antenna and cable connections. All HDMI ports support 4K @ 165Hz, while only HDMI 3 is eARC compatible, allowing you to transmit high-quality, uncompressed audio like Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and multi-channel surround sound to a compatible soundbar or receiver. It also supports CEC, so you can control the external audio device’s volume and power using the TV’s remote and have both devices power on and off simultaneously. These is an optical audio out port and an Ethernet jack for a wired Internet connection as well. The set has two USB-A ports: the upper one is USB 2.0 which delivers 0.5 A power output, and the lower one is USB 3.0 with 1 A power output and faster data transfer speeds. You can connect a USB stick with photos, music, or movies to view on the TV or use them to power a streaming device. The remote control is backlit and even lights up automatically when the remote is picked up in dim lighting. However, only the “main” function keys in dark gray with white icons are backlit, like settings, volume, channel, mute, and menu; the power and one-touch buttons for various streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube, are not backlit. There is also a dedicated Free TV key that launches Google TV Freeplay for viewing live programming that you don't need to pay a subscription fee to watch, like local news and classic TV shows. I like that the remote does not need a line of site to the TV to work, and it has a customizable favorite button that you can set to change to a specific input or launch a particular app or function. The image quality of the display is amazingly sharp and clear with vivid colors, good contrast, and high brightness even during the day and under bright lighting conditions. The maximum resolution of the display is 4K at 3840 by 2160 pixels and compared to the 1080p that we were used to, has super fine detail and looks very realistic. In addition, you can apply AI enhancement and upscaling for additional improvement to quality and clarity, from motion smoothing to noise reduction. With most of these options set to medium or high, when watching video or movies with fast-paced action, I didn’t notice much blur, digital artifacts, or graininess. Even from a close distance, the pixels are so tiny that I couldn’t make them out. The surface of the display is matte, with an anti-glare/reflection coating, so I did not see many reflections or light halos from windows and fixtures reflected on the display. This TV has an integrated 2.1.2 speaker system on the back, which actually sounds really nice. While not as immersive as a true surround sound system, the virtualized surround sound gives you a sense of depth and movement that's more three-dimensional than stereo alone. That said, the max sound output at 50 Watts is more than it needs. I keep it set at around 15 to 20 out of 100, and when I attempted to listen to higher volumes, the sound started to get deafening and distorted above 50. I’ve not gone above 70 because I'm worried about blowing out the speakers. In lieu of increasing the volume, you can enable voice enhancement to make them clearer and louder without affecting the overall volume level. Another feature that I really like is the ability to connect with multiple Bluetooth devices simultaneously. For example, I connected the display to my Bluetooth gaming controller as well as wireless headphones and was able to privately listen to the television while gaming. With Bluetooth 5.0 or higher audio devices, there was no noticeable delay and perfect voice to video sync. The game controller’s response time was also instant and lag-free. The TV is compatible with various input devices in addition to the remote control, like a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse. Gaming on this TV is great because it has a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz, for games that support it, offering a smoother, more immersive experience compared to lower refresh rates. Both the remote and the TV itself have built-in microphones, so you can use hands-free voice control. Just press and hold the mic icon on the remote to search or give commands to Google’s AI assistant, Gemini. When the TV is on, you can also enable the wake word, “Hey Google,” but if you don't want the mic to be actively listening, there is a physical switch adjacent to its power button that allows you to disable the microphone. Overall, this Hisense television delivers an enjoyable viewing experience through its clear and rich picture quality, great sound, and ease of use. The built-in OS is super smooth and responsive and has everything I need to enjoy movies, music, and gaming on it, with fast internet connectivity, access to apps and streaming services, and multipoint Bluetooth support.

This Hisense 55 inch U7SG 4K ULED Smart TV is one of the finest LED TVs I have ever experienced. Its combination of features, sound quality, aesthetics, picture quality and price is without match. Hisense is a major consumer electronics and appliance manufacturer. It was founded in Qingdao, China as a radio manufacturer in 1969, then began producing televisions in 1971. It purchased technology and production lines from Matsushita, Hitachi, NEC, Toshiba and others, emerging as Hisense in 1994. Today it is the largest television manufacturer in China and the fifth largest in the world. Its best-known consumer products are sold under the Hisense, Toshiba, Sharp and Hitachi brands. Its television products are very well-regarded for quality and features, on a par with the two major Korean brands and the best-known Japanese brand. The U7SG is Hisense’s best value 4K ULED TV. Consider these superb features: • Model: Hisense 55” U7SG Mini-LED 4K QLED TV (Model 55U7SG) • 55” Quantum Dot UHD Mini-LED VA (Vertical Alignment) Display (3840 x 2160 resolution: 8,294,400 pixels per image frame) • Quantum Dot display with 10 bit color (1,073,741,824 possible colors) and up to 3000 nits peak brightness • Over 2,000 local dimming zones for optimal blacks (over 40,000 to 1 contrast ratio) • MediaTek Pentonic 800 Quad-core Intelligent Video Processor provides AI-Powered optimized color, clarity and contrasts to upscale HD images to near 4K quality • Google TV with Gemini interface • Supports advanced video delivery: HDR10+, HLG (hybrid log-gamma), Dolby Vision IQ, IMAX Enhanced, Filmmaker mode • Native 165 Hz eliminates motion blur from sports and coupled with up to 330 Hz VRR 8 ms response, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro optimizes gaming experience • Google Assistant and Alexa connected features • 5 internal speakers tuned by Devialet deliver 50 watts of 2.1.2 channel Atmos sound (2 10-watt left-right front-firing speakers, 2 5-watt left-right upward-firing speakers, 1 20-watt woofer) • Automatic room audio calibration using the remote • Backlit Voice Remote gives quick access to all major functions • Natural language processing/intelligent voice recognition for most features; supports English, Spanish and French • Expanded electronic program guide (adds over-the-air channels to cable and internet channels) • Multiple video mode and sound profile presets, most with automatic settings • Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney, Hulu, YouTube, Hulu, HBO Max, AppleTV, Tubi, Pluto, Peacock, Paramount, Google Play already installed, 32 GB available for additional apps and system • Google Play Content Store with hundreds of additional apps, games, videos • AirPlay screen-sharing function (iPhone, Windows 11) • 4 HDMI 2.1 4K video inputs, (HDMI 3 is also eARC) • 2 USB-A ports, 3.0 and 2.0 • Optical digital audio output • Wireless WiFi 6E LAN 802.11AX 2.4/5G/6G • Gigabit Ethernet LAN • Bluetooth 5.2 (both inbound from external sources and outbound to headphones) • ATSC 3.0 coax input/digital tuner for over-the-air 4K channel reception • Beautiful appearance with a very slim bezel (0.4”) • 400 mm x 400 mm VESA mount holes • Multi-layer anti-reflective matte screen coating to reduce glare • 48.3” wide x 28.1” tall x 2.5” deep (without stand) • Stand: 14.8” wide (front), 11.5 “wide (rear) x 10.4” deep, raises TV up to 3” at high setting • Weight: 30.4 pounds, 37.5 pounds with stand • Power consumption (190 watts in use, 0.5 watt in standby mode) • 2 year parts and labor warranty A great TV, no matter the brand, has three elements – the beauty of the visual delivery system, the quality of the sound produced and the range and substance of the other features included. You will fall in love with the video quality of this TV. The 4K Quantum Dot display with 10 bit color, 3,000 nits of stunning brightness and 2,000+ local dimming zones, all managed by the powerful upscaling MediaTek Pentonic 800 Quad-core Intelligent Video Processor delivers an absolutely stunning image, easily the best I have ever seen from a non-OLED TV. Since comparable-sized OLED screens may be twice the price of this TV, there is just no other set in its price range which can match it. There are many preset video modes to choose from (e.g., vivid, standard, theater, sports, gaming, Filmmaker) or calibrate the picture yourself with an incredible degree of precision. You will be absolutely delighted with the video images created by this magnificent TV. To meet the HDR 10+ (High Dynamic Range) and Dolby Vision IQ standards the display has to attain both a very high brightness level and a very dark black level coupled with a vast range of colors presented with very subtle shading between the millions of pixels on the screen. The 2,000+ local dimming zones give deep blacks and the 10 bit color with the multiple HDR and Dolby Vision systems supported create a very wide range of colors and brightness levels. It creates an effective 480 frame per second refresh rate (Tru-Motion 480) with each of the 8.3 million pixels set to the exact color/brightness level required to achieve the truest image. This also includes upscaling HD content (which has only 2 million pixels in the image) by interpolating the correct color and brightness to the full 8.3 million pixels of the 4K display. Most TVs produce 250-350 nits of light output, but this Hisense has a specified 3000 nits brightness level which ensures that the picture will even stand up to bright, direct sunlight. The new multi-layer anti-reflective matte coating on the screen works very well to limit distracting reflections and glare. This amazing combination of technologies creates an unmatched picture quality. How good is the sound? Most television speakers are just not comparable to the display, yet the immersive experience of movies or sporting events comes from rich sound rolling over and around you. This usually requires adding a sound bar to replace those pitiful little speakers typically built in. But this Hisense has one of the best sound systems I have ever heard on any set. Its unaided sound is so good that I watched an entire action movie with my sound bar turned off and it seemed there was very little drop off in audio quality. This is due to the 2.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos sound system, the most advanced surround sound system. It delivers sound as “objects” which are placed in three dimensional space rather than in specific channels to immerse listeners in the sound delivered through two built-in 10-watt full-range left/right speakers mounted at the bottom edge, a 20-watt woofer mounted in the center of the back of the TV and two 5-watt side/up speakers mounted on the left and right back of the TV. You can also choose preset sound modes (e.g., standard, theater, sports, clear voice, music) or make your own sound adjustments. If you use this TV in a room where a supplemental audio system would not fit in, the built-in sound system will not disappoint you. Even better, Hisense offers a nice range of modestly-priced Hi-Concerto soundbars which connect seamlessly to this TV and enable you to use both the TV speakers and the soundbar speakers together. Finally, the third element of evaluating is the set of added features available. Here you will find that this TV is like one of those Russian nesting doll sets – every time you open up a feature your find another bonus inside! • All extra features are controlled by the excellent Google TV + Gemini operating system. This facilitates an effortless setup process including installing all of your streaming services. • The lighted remote gives direct access to the most popular streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Disney+ and a customizable button. It also accepts voice commands and provides a menu button for settings. • The Google Play Content Store contains hundreds of additional apps and games which can be downloaded. The storage capacity for the operating system and apps is a generous 32 GB. • The Google TV Live feature is amazing. It is an integrated program guide of internet program sources and over-the-air channels. It also includes Gemini. Just ask it any question and it will respond to you! It also finds any content you may want, instantly, and suggests all of the alternative viewing choices for that content. It also learns your viewing preferences and makes intelligent suggestions that you will probably enjoy. • Gamers will be thrilled by the dedicated Game Bar menu options and the superb color and 330 Hz variable refresh rate image processing capability of the TV. • The ATSC 3.0 over-the-air tuner can receive 4K broadcasts. It is very easy to receive digital broadcasts with this fine tuner and you will be amazed by their quality. • A Device Assistant button in the Apps menu gives access to a fine array of built-in utilities including a hardware check, storage cleaner and a system optimizer. • Nearly all menu options include explanations of their function. • Air Play screen sharing from a PC or phone is supported and it is effortless. There is also a Multi-View display mode which permits both a video feed from the TV and screen mirroring from a phone – great for watching two games side-by-side! • WiFi is the latest 6E standard (LAN 802.11AX 2.4/5G/6G). An Ethernet port is also available. • “Ambient Mode” gives rotating artwork or personal photos plus time/temperature on screen. • The very solid stand is easy to assemble, has a compact 10.4” x 15” footprint and provides two height choices. The taller setting raises the TV about 3 inches which is plenty to permit a soundbar to be placed in front without blocking the screen. Evaluation - the Hisense 55” U7SG is an absolutely superb premium television, offered at an attractive price and perfectly-sized for smaller rooms (den, bedrooms) - an excellent choice for those who demand the best. It earned a full five stars and my most enthusiastic endorsement!

In the crowded market of Mini-LED TVs, the Hisense U7 proves to be a serious contender for its price point, solid build and impressive picture quality. At 55 inches, this model has blown me away with its overall performance. Unboxing it was a quick and simple process. Once connected, it went through a short set-up process, I logged in to my Google TV and in less than 15 minutes it was ready to go. I was immediately amazed by the quality of the picture. The colors were rich and accurate and the black levels, although not perfect, were well controlled by the local dimming zones. This 55-inch U7 is replacing an older 50-inch OLED TV from a renowned competitor and it came close to matching the OLED contrast level with minimal blooming, but it outshone it with its brightness advantage. The picture customization is extensive but thanks to an intuitive user interface, I was able to achieve my favorite settings within a few trials. Playing videogames on the U7 55-inch screen with my PS5 is pure joy. The 165Hz native refresh rate, supported via two HDMI 2.1 ports, does make a difference. I like the fact that the TV is able to automatically detect the streaming signals (Dolby Vision, HDR, etc.) but also switch to game mode whenever I turn on my PS5 and start a game. My favorite FPS and racing simulation games run so smoothly with no latency. This model has an anti-glare coating that pretty much removes all light reflections from lamps and windows which elevates the gaming experience and TV watching. The included speakers tuned by Devialet, the high-end French audio company, sound quite good and are Dolby Atmos compatible. They can play loud with some decent bass, however for a real cinematic rumble with enveloping surround, a good soundbar or dedicated surround theater system would be a great addition. The whole chassis is supported by a solid base that can be adjusted for height and it feels solid. The backlit remote looks modern with a good ergonomic layout. In conclusion, the Hisense U7 Mini-LED is an outstanding television that delivers on all fronts, especially considering its value. Its impressive picture quality, exceptional brightness and lag-free gaming features make it a serious contender in the Mini-LED market. In my opinion, it is among the best TV investments of 2026.

Overall, I am pleased with the television. The anti glare is effective, especially in our sunlit living room. Love having a TV for this room that doesn’t reflect everything back at you like a mirror. We have this in a room with lots of natural light and even with the blinds open, the picture is bright, defined, and easy to see. When I stand to the side and see the window on-screen in the brightest of the day, I can kind of see it, but it’s much diffused (hooray!). The brightness is adjustable, so if your room isn’t as bright, you can set it to what you need/want. The colors on screen are vibrant, clear, and it has several screen options, such as theater or standard modes. If you want an app to display your media, there are a LOT to choose from. The one we use is in the lineup, so we’ll be good to go. I was surprised at how good the sound from the TV is. We use speakers, but if we didn’t, the sound from it is good—I usually am annoyed at TV sound but I could be fine with this one’s sound. We paired it with eArc and it was simple to do. I like the flat-bottom plate stand that it comes with vs. feet on each end. It’s sturdy and sleek and if you can’t hang the TV on the wall (like in an apartment or something), it actually would work to set it on a mantle with the stand. I thought that I’d take a half star off for the thickness, which affects the frame I’ll have to build, but since measurements are listed, I don’t think that’s necessarily fair. We got it to frame and view art and photos mainly, and the frame we will build will need to be thicker than I had wanted, but the anti glare and picture is so good, I’m OK with that. We don’t walk up to it from the side, so it really won’t be that big of a deal. All that said, if you’re looking for a great picture plus good sound without having to use external speakers, I recommend this one.

The Hisense - 55" Class U7 Series MiniLED QLED UHD 4K HDR Smart Google TV (2026) is going to give other high end tv brands a run for their money. Assembly was quick and fairly easy. The instructions were in picture form, which is my least favorite, but it was doable. Two-person setup is a must, and for the part where the stand is getting screwed in, we used a 3rd person to maintain stability. The packaging was organized with specific care to protect the tv screen. There were two screws that I could not find a purpose for, they were 2 labeled M4*15, and are likely for the larger version of the same TV. I needed a Gmail account to set the TV up. I first tried my yahoo account, but the setup would not let me move forward unless I used my Gmail. If you don’t have a Gmail account, there was an option to create a new account. Adding apps is easy and logging into my apps was simple and quick. I appreciate that it took a couple minutes to log into 5 different apps. I remember the days when it took a few minutes for each one. Gaming: My first assessment was seeing the TV’s performance with my Xbox Series X console. First, I went to settings and set the DEVIALET Sound Mode to “Game Mode”. Let’s just say the sound quality literally blew me away. I was playing Call of Duty World War 2 and the cutscene at the beginning was great. I own a Bose Sound system and I could not tell the difference. The sound was crisp and at times it seemed as if the shooting was behind me. When I checked the video settings, General 4K TV details, this TV checked all the boxes for TV resolution, playing games, watching tv, and movies. The picture is just as great as the sound quality. I have a gaming monitor and I really cannot tell the difference in quality. This TV rivals my high end gaming monitor. The refresh rate is excellent and the Dolby picture rocks. You can even see face stubble on the characters, awesome detail! Sports Entertainment: Before testing out the picture and sound quality for sports entertainment, I first set the picture mode to “Sports.” Also, I set the DEVIALET Sound Mode to “Sports.” The picture quality is really clear. The stadium sound gives you the feeling as if you are in the crowd. I am running my TV off of a Wi-Fi connection with my router downstairs, and there is no lag. The picture quality is so good that the picture almost looks like a high quality video game. A true test of picture quality, while watching hockey, is if you can clearly follow the hockey puck in play. During the high action scenes, there was no “blurry puck.” I also tested out the TV with NASCAR. The sound was awesome. Hearing the engine rev was cool. The 2.1.2 Multi-Channel Surround Sound gave me the feeling as if I was in the race car. The picture quality is very clear. I viewed the NASCAR DRIVER CAM and the sound and racing experience was awesome. I sat close to my TV and the quality rivals the VR effects. I felt like I was in the race. Overall, this TV is a solid investment and has great multipurpose functions for my needs of gaming, watching TV, movies, and sporting events. Looking forward to many years of enjoyment

looking for high-end specs without paying a massive premium. As someone who deals with tech daily, I wanted a TV that didn't compromise on processing or future-proofing, and this one absolutely delivers. Picture Quality & Brightness My living room gets a ton of natural light, which was my biggest concern. With the 3000 nits of peak brightness and the anti-glare screen treatment, daytime viewing is completely hassle-free. The Mini-LED tech really shows off at night, though. The local dimming zones give you super deep blacks that make Dolby Vision movies look incredible, and the colors are natural right out of the box instead of looking artificially blown out. Sports & Motion Motion clarity was a major priority for me. Watching Mountaineers games on a Saturday afternoon has been a flawless experience. The 165Hz refresh rate and the AI Smooth Motion tech completely eliminate that annoying blur during fast camera pans and running plays. It’s fluid, crisp, and you can easily read jersey numbers while players are sprinting. Gaming & Ports A huge selling point is the inclusion of four full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports. It is incredibly nice not having to constantly swap cables if you have multiple consoles or streaming devices. When gaming, the dedicated Game Mode kicks in automatically, and the response time is incredibly fast and smooth. Sound & Interface Built-in TV speakers are usually an afterthought, but the 2.1.2 surround setup tuned by Devialet actually provides some real depth and clear dialogue. The Google TV interface is snappy, and thanks to the WiFi 6E, 4K streaming has been rock solid with zero buffering. The Remote I have to give a quick shoutout to the remote. It has a "Lift to Light" feature so the buttons illuminate as soon as you pick it up in the dark, plus a "Find My Remote" function. It's a small detail, but an absolute game-changer for movie nights. Overall, it’s a powerhouse of a TV that punches well above its price tag. Highly recommend.

The Hisense U7SG RGB MiniLED TV has definitely surprised me. I honestly always thought Hisense was a C-tier brand but I must have been completely wrong. After spending about two weeks with it, I can confidently say this is one of the most feature-packed TVs I’ve used in a long time. At first, I disabled the Enhanced Viewing settings because I was concerned about privacy and data tracking. After some testing though, I noticed there was actually a noticeable improvement in overall picture quality with some of the AI enhancements enabled. The first thing I watched on the TV was Dolby Vision content through my Apple TV 4K. By default, the TV was set to Warm 1, and personally I wasn’t a fan of it. It gave the image a slight yellow or mustardy tint. After experimenting with the settings, Warm 2 ended up looking the most natural and accurate to my eyes. One drawback I’ve noticed is that every so often I need to restart the TV for it to reconnect to the internet. I’m not completely sure whether that issue is related to my router or the TV itself, but it is something worth mentioning. It’s not a dealbreaker, but definitely an inconvenience. What really makes this TV stand out is the sheer amount of HDR support and picture customization available. It supports HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision. Under Dolby Vision alone you get modes like Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Vision Dark, and Dolby Vision Custom. Dolby Vision Dark in particular looks phenomenal. There’s also Filmmaker Mode along with multiple HDR10+ presets including Theater, Standard, and Vivid. The biggest surprise for me wasn’t just the display quality, it was the amount of gaming and AI-focused features packed into the TV. The local dimming performance is excellent, with hundreds of dimming zones delivering impressive black levels for an LED TV. That’s coming from someone who genuinely enjoys OLED displays. Gaming on the PS5 also feels fantastic here. The Game Bar is loaded with customization options including genre presets, dark area enhancement, brightness controls, instant game response settings, crosshairs, and even customizable crosshair colors. It genuinely feels like Hisense wanted gamers to have complete control over the experience. Connectivity is also excellent. The TV includes four HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB ports, Ethernet, optical audio, and coaxial input support. One thing I didn’t expect was how good the built-in speakers sound. They actually have decent punch and clarity. If I didn’t already own a soundbar, I honestly wouldn’t feel like I was missing much outside of deeper bass. However, since it does support eARC (full bandwidth for Dolby Vision & DTS:X) I will exclusively using my sound for movies. Overall, I’d absolutely recommend this TV to anyone looking for a fully loaded display with excellent picture quality, strong gaming performance, and a massive amount of features. The only potential downside is that if you don’t enjoy tinkering with settings, the amount of options may feel overwhelming at first. But it is a Fantastic TV! 5/5

The Hisense - 55" Class U7SG is serious contender in the latest round of LED backlit, UHD televisions. For reference, I'm wholeheartedly an OLED purist and with each passing year, OLED televisions never cease to amaze me with increased brightness, clarity, dynamic range and mind-blowing levels of black & shadow detail. That all said, this U7SG was a very pleasant surprise - for a lot of reasons. The specs are easily found and obvious to the level of engineering that went into this new generation. I held no illusions as to what expect - because - no matter if they call it "Full Array local dimming" or Mini LED, the interaction of the filtering layers and the LED illumination behind them is what translates to what the eyes ultimately see. And it should go without saying, stuff like the room environment and one's perception of the image - is highly variable & subjective. In that order. Setting up the Hisense - 55" Class U7 was quick & painless. Based upon the Google (Android) TV platform, Hisense does a much better job of simply presenting the Google OS in an unadulterated way vs. someone like Sony. That's my opinion anyway... No complicated layout changes with unnecessary reformatting or "pop ups" or layer upon layers of sub menus - - just straight up, Google TV operating system - - which I prefer. Blends really well with people that use YouTube TV I will add. It's a Smart TV like so many others and I won't delve into those aspects. What I want to share is the overall performance and visual quality aspects of the TV. Notable mentions however: WiFi 6E, 165 Hz, 3000 nits, NextGen TV capable, 4 x HDMI 2.1 and a 2-year warranty! Out of the box, I found the 55" Class U7 Series Mini LED QLED UHD 4K presentation to be more than just a tad bit oversaturated and near blinding bright. To my eyes, the Standard picture mode - with no Ai enabled picture enhancements I might add - looked a lot like so many other TV's set to Vivid mode. Oversaturated reds, blinding areas of white, somewhat gray leaning blacks and just way too much intensity. So then, why 4 stars? you might ask... The answers are simple. LCD based televisions are inherently limited to off-angle viewing effects and some level of light bleed and/or blooming. But here's the thing: With the evolution of LCD televisions comes improved processing speeds & capability, improved filtering and generation of color rendition and way better control of the back lighting in dynamic, increasingly critical HDR motion content. I can only imagine how impressive the higher end, whatever a company chooses to call it -- Micro LED, Micro RGB LED, RGB direct view -- I expect those televisions to approach OLED performance in new & exciting ways. But then, what about Mini LED, this actual TV and the 4 stars given? you may still ask... This 55"-inch U7SG brings super killer UHD quality to the cost-conscious shopper. Here's why: Even with the beyond Vivid presentation, fresh out the box, when you finally get around to dialing down the brightness, the color and find the right clarity settings (personal preference for sure...) this television looks amazing in both dimly lit and brightly lit, room environments. Spending a little over an hour, I was able to adjust the U7's picture settings to mimic my 65" OLED TV, sitting right beside it. And although the differences were still there - to the eye - they were much less pronounced than I've ever seen before. The processor in this television is obviously up-to-the-task of processing stunning images and does so while maintaining a very snappy, responsive UI experience. Because of the subjective nature of how people perceive what they see vs. something else, I'm going to forego doing a Pro & Con list separation and simply list out my observations. Hopefully you key into what matters to you. This Hisense Mini LED platform achieves some of the most uniform picture control I've ever seen in an LCD television - corner to corner, edge to edge. Dynamic range is super impressive, and shadow detail more than decent. (after some tweaking ofc...) The amount of brightness gain and color saturation it is capable of just means it has "system margin" to go FULL NITS and when dialed down, it can achieve a really beautiful picture. I can still detect some ever so slight blooming or glow but it’s mostly noticeable when viewing in a dark room or when using a camera sensor – which tend to reveal & expose what the human eye averages out. Off-axis viewing is still a hinderance - to my eyes - and starts to kick in even before being 20 degrees off-center and perceivable brightness, clarity & color saturation suffer big time past the 45-degree point. But this is inherent to all LCD television, to some degree and for a sub-$1000 price point, the 55-inch U7SG does a pretty amazing job staying uniform - even off-angle. In other words, this television hits way above its weight class in its sweat spot - to use a boxing analogy. I will venture a guess that the anti-reflective treatment to the screen is what is contributing the most, to the roll-off in off-axis picture brightness. And in that vein, that's a fair trade off - because this television handles ambient light - be it from windows or light sources within the room - Like an absolute Boss! Much like the brightness and saturation explosion this TV dishes out, the audio system of the Hisense - 55" Class U7SG is loud. Like, seriously LOUD. It needs to be cranked down too, IMHO - - but even at higher levels, it still sounds full - rich - commanding. This thing fills an average to larger sized great room with authoritative sound, at a volume setting of just 25 to 30. The remote control is backlit and the buttons aren't cramped. This is actually a really impressive remote! Great ergonomics, bougie brushed metal finish... and it just feels good in the hand. Summary: For anyone budget conscious, to the point of leaving plenty of room for mounting hardware, a quality sound bar system and whatever else – and not blowing the piggy bank mainly on the display – I highly recommend that you consider the Hisense U7SG series – no matter the size. It’s not quite OLED performance levels but comes darned close; closer than I’ve seen at prices like this! And if you're trying to counteract the effects of various light-source challenges, in a particular room, I'll bet you will be amazed what this 2026 U7 lineup can do for you. In conclusion, I dinged the rating 1 star because I think a future firmware update should tone down the brightness/saturation & logarithmic sound scaling - at this early juncture. Nevertheless, this is an outstanding secondary TV or an option for those wanting some cutting-edge image quality without breaking the bank. Don't ignore Hisense. They are a serious contender now!

Had been playing with the 55" Hisense U7 model for the 4th day now and coming from my, much more expensive, OLed Tv from my living room i can truly say that this TV it's worth every penny. 🤩Highlights: ->HDR ...The difference in black levels is noticeable — the OLED still wins in shadow detail and uniformity — but the U7 compensates with excellent peak brightness and very punchy color. HDR is where this TV really shines: specular highlights stand out clearly, and in bright scenes the overall contrast can actually look a bit stronger than on my G3 thanks to the U7’s higher sustained brightness. ->🖼️ ...Color accuracy out of the box is solid, and the panel produces a vibrant, high‑impact image that works especially well for HDR movies and sports. ->🚴 ...Motion handling is clean with minimal artifacts, and gaming performance is responsive with low input lag and smooth VRR support. ->💽 ...Google TV interface runs smoothly, and app performance has been one of the best i've encounter going head to head with other much more expensive flagships out there. Now there are few things that i think need some work like the blooming effect while it's not noticeable it's still present and the matte panel does help with viewing angle specially in brighter rooms i feel that it just amplifies a bit the little blooming that's happening in more challenging scenes. Overall, the Hisense U7 offers impressive brightness, strong HDR performance, and great gaming responsiveness, making it a well‑rounded and high‑value option in its price range.

Excellent picture quality. You only see bloom if you look for it. Other than that brightness is higher than oled and color is amazing.

This TV is pretty amazing, it only took a few minutes to setup out of the box and if you have a Google account, it's is quick as 5 minutes to get going. You also don't have to use an account to set it up and use it but it sure does make it easier to get connected and get your basic TV apps going. So, what's probably most important to me is really three things - picture, sound and ease of use/responsiveness. The first (and likely is also the case for most people) is the picture quality. Brightness, sharpness and color balance. Without any tweaking I am pretty satisfied with the color and brightness and it's pretty clear that the mini LEDs do help with this where it can be really dark in one part of the picture and really bright in the other. There's still a little bit of glow if you have something on a totally black screen but compared to other cheaper TV's it's not nearly as bad or noticeable. There are numerous settings available to customize the picture to your specific tastes and there are modes available to make picking from available settings easier for switching between sports and movies. The only thing aside to the slight glow on a dark screen (which is minor) is the viewing angle. I'd say if you don't need viewing from extreme angles on the sides or it's in a really bright room (tons of windows where there could be direct sunlight on the screen) you might want to consider a higher end model. My living room has windows on the north and south walls, and when I set it up to demo it was something I noticed. In any other room though, it's great and didn't bother me at all. For this series, compared to other TV's around this same range, this one is pretty good in my opinion and isn't a reason I wouldn't consider it. The next is the built-in sound. Normally I don't really care but if you're minimalist and don't care for having separate soundbars, speakers and "extra" stuff, I have to say I am pretty impressed with this TV. Sound is more than loud enough for a casual watcher and for casual gaming with decent bass and mid/high levels. Overall, I thought the sound that is built-into this TV is pretty impressive and is overall balanced. You can easily add a Soundbar that supports HDMI ARC and the TV and the soundbar works together to power up together flawlessly eliminating another remote. The last, and sometimes overlooked thing I see in a lot of TV's is the UI and how easy it is to navigate without having too much loaded up garbage that makes it difficult to just find what you want to watch and watch it. Google has got the UI pretty good and it does tend to remember and know what you like to watch but all of the Apps are easily accessible so you can just completely ignore what's there and go right into the apps you want to watch shows on. That said, if you're not sure what to watch I like how Google TV recommends things and the included free programming (though much of it is ad supported if it's free). Anyway, there are wildly different opinions on which TV OS is best but what I can say that is probably most useful is Google TV has TONS of apps and games. In addition and what is probably most important is this TV's OS is VERY REPONSIVE for once!! I have two other TV's (one is a Google TV) and the other is a Samsung TV. The other Google TV i have is HORRIBLY slow, and the Samsung with Tizen OS is pretty responsive, but I'd say this TV even edges out the Samsung in terms of performance and responsiveness in navigating content and menus. Bottom line, this TV was a pleasant surprise in this regard. The last thing, while small and sometimes not important to a lot of people, it is important to me and that's the remote control! My only complaint was sliding the cover to put batteries in but after that my complaints were all reversed in to praise! I love how responsive this remote is and the overall feel and touch of it. I also LOVE that it's backlit by just picking it up which is AWESOME! Not even my high end Samsung OLED TV has a remote this good. While my high end Samsung OLED outcompetes this one in picture quality, this TV definitely has a better remote and the OS is far easier to navigate and is more responsive. Overall, I'm impressed with this TV and would absolutely recommend it, especially if you see it on sale and are in the market for getting a newer one either to replace a slow TV (like my other Google TV that I can hardly stand to turn on) or just add to a room like a game room.

The Hisense 55" Class U7 Series MiniLED QLED UHD 4K HDR Smart Google TV is a great TV with excellent picture and sound and rich with features. Following are my observations after using it daily: - This TV was quite easy to set up, connect to WiFi and configure. It comes with a User Guide, but you can also just turn it on and it will walk you through configuring all the settings and downloading the applicable streaming Apps to get up and running in no time. - The TV comes with a 2-year warranty on parts and labor. - It is a nice looking TV with a slim design. The first feature I noticed immediately is the screen is anti-reflection and glare free. When turned off, the screen kind of looks like it has a matte finish. I absolutely love this feature. My old TV did not have this and based on where my TV sits, relative to my windows, I always had a terrible glare from the window on my TV, along with a glare from any lights I had on at night. In some cases it was hard to see some shows with the sun glare on that TV. With my new Hisense TV, I have no glare at all! It is so nice to be able to clearly see my whole TV with no window or light glare! - It has a Hi-QLED MiniLED Pro picture. The picture quality is terrific! The colors are very vivid and natural, the blacks are deep and it has good contrast, and the brightness and clarity are also great. I'm very impressed by the picture quality. - I was surprised by how good the the sound quality is on the TV. I do not use a soundbar, so I have been used to a pretty basic sound with past TV's. There is a noticeable difference in the sound quality of this TV compared to my previous TVs. It has built-in 2.1.2 multi-channel surround sound, much like many soundbars. - This TV comes with a Native 165Hz Game Mode with ultra-high165Hz refresh rate and a motion rate of 480. I have connected my XBox and played multiple games. The action sequences are great, with a clear, smooth picture. There is no lag, blur or stutter when playing war and sports games. Likewise, I have been watching NBA and NHL playoff games this past week and the picture quality and motion have been great and very crisp. - The TV has 4K resolution and an AI 4K Upscaler feature. With the upscaler, it improves the quality and sharpness of older shows that are not in 4K. - There are plenty of ports to handle a lot of connections, including four HDMI 2.1, one composite video, one LAN, one Optical Digital Audio and two USB ports. - Another useful feature is the AI RGB light sensor, which automatically adjusts the brightness and color based on the room lighting. This is noticeable when watching with the room lights on and then switching off the lights, which I like to do when watching movies. - The remote control is backlit and has voice control. I love having a backlit remote. My last TV remote did not have this feature and I often had to turn on the light on my phone to see what I was pressing on the remote in a dark room. Overall, I am very happy with the features, picture and sound of my Hisense U7 Series TV! I can easily recommend it.
