A: I LOVE THIS MACHINE. But I would not say that it is light weight. And it is NOT self propelled. There is much weight on the handle portion. This works well for the swivel feature but adds to the weight on the shoulders. Hope that helps

Q: Can this vacuum be set to vacuum regular carpet and then reset to vacuum a shag area rug?
A: Yes there are different settings for wood floors, thin carpet to thicker carpeting.

Q: How do you keep it from clogging with pet hair and on the rollers
A: Hey Diann, Thank you for your question! Pet hair is always a troublesome cleaning challenge. One way to reduce clogs is to groom your pets regularly to reduce the amount of hair shed by them. Then after grooming use the hose to suck up the hair. This will reduce the volume of hair and the load on the vacuum and consequently reduce the chances of clogging. If you feel your vacuum is clogging quickly or easily, you may need to clean your filter. The vacuum filter should be cleaned regularly, and when dirty it can be the cause of a loss of suction which leads to more clogs. Then, ensure the hose, brushes, and nozzle are free of any debris that may be caught at the joints and inlets. Lastly, I'd recommend completing a full system maintenance check (refer to your user manual) to ensure your vacuum operates like new. Thanks, Joseph - The Hoover Team
Q: How does this compare to a eureka vacuum. We have one that worked great until it wore out.
A: I find this to be much quieter which is nicer in general. Personally I think it picks up more than the Eureka.

Q: Is this vacuum self propelled ?
