The age old cast from the battle between the titans and the gods of Greek mythology. A bit of a different tale, but still much the same cast. The game starts with a very long prologue, before you even get to hear details about the problems facing you. It is kind of a trial to see if Fenyx is worthy for the main quest (Spoiler alert, he is!) So, at this point you’re probably noticing a lot of similarities between the animation and cell shading, with the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. This is just the beginning. In this game Typhon has escaped his chains and attacked the gods. Many of the gods have fled and some were separated from their essence and left powerless against Typhon. In breath of the wild it is Calamity Ganon wreaking havoc. In Immortals you’re trying to restore the essence to the gods / demigods and there are 4 of them you have to do this with. With Zelda you’re trying to free the Divine beasts from Ganons Influence. There are also 4 of these. Both games have some sort of shrine with puzzles, ridiculously large landscapes, the ability to tame wild horses, and about 5 different lands to explore. Neither Link nor Fenyx can swim very long before they get tired (a very poor mechanic honestly). Fenyx has trinkets of the gods, Link has Runes that give him many of the same powers as Fenyx. Fenyx attains Daedalus‘ wings so he can glide. Link gets the old man’s Glider. Was Ubisoft aware of these striking similarities? Absolutely they were, as some of the NPC characters in the game make comments like, “If your weapon keeps breaking, you’re doing it wrong!” Weapons breaking in BOTW happen far too frequently for my liking honestly. Am I saying this is a bad game? Not at all! It’s just that it has taken more than a few liberties with the creative influence that’s for sure. Of course, there are some ways that this game actually improved on BOTW as well. Like the story, it is much more entertaining and relatable considering that even inexperienced players would know the characters in Immortals. Another thing, your weapons don’t break in this game, so you don’t have to worry about being without a weapon mid fight, when your last weapon inevitably breaks. The bosses are known quantities as well. Cyclops, Medusa, the Minotaur, and the like are all here to make your game more challenging. It’s almost like you get to play the 1980s clash of the titans on video game form. Some of these beasts are insanely strong too and will destroy you with 2 hits. Also, Fenyx has more than 16 masks and they have very real benefits, like boosts to damage delivered by your main weapon. I would say Immortals is also a bit of a longer game that has less strolling around and more exploration than BOTW. Another thing, BOTW tends to keep the majority of the puzzles confined to the shrines, where Immortals will spread them out even in the God’s areas. Oh and some of Fenyx’s horses can fly, because Pegasus was a real thing in Greek Mythology. Link’s horses really can’t do any of this. Overall it is a good game, but I wish it hadn’t borrowed so much from the BOTW formula. Of course, if you play this before playing BOTW, you might just find yourself disappointed with Zelda.

Great game in the feels of Zelda Breath of the Wild and very comical and enjoyable story of the gods. Very responsive gameplay and world traversing feels natural. Quick and easy Digital Purchase and Redemption

Picked this up as an impulse purchase when it was on sale and not regretting it one bit. I’m a big fan of 3rd person action games especially if there’s exploration and treasure to find and this game pushes all the right buttons with some fun humor added in.

This game is beautiful with it's vivid colors and large open world design. Within three hours of playing, it quickly became my game of the year. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a gorgeous, hilarious story driven game that'll really show what the Xbox Series X is capable of.

Positively a welcome RPG video game that has super graphics with soundtrack. The storyline is well done sprinkled with dry humor. Believe ever gamer needs to add this one to their collection,

Assassin's Creed Odyssey meets Zelda meets PS1 Hercules. Need I say more? The combat is quick and, while basic, very fulfilling. There is a bit of grinding to get items but it doesn't really affect the gaming experience. I absolutely love it, though. Very good game.

Love this game. It's funny, fun and pretty unique. Same genre as a few other titles, most notably Zelda on switch. But it's got it's own thing going on.

Save your money. This is nothing like the original game. Everything is challenge based. There is no real combat, no exploration. All the positive comments are from people before it was released. This is a review of someone that has played the DLC.
