I previously posted a review of Insignia’s 55” LED 1080p TV. This will be both a review for the 43”, as well as a bit of an extension for the other review, to mention things I didn’t get to before, and to further promote Insignia’s line of televisions. This is the third of four Insignia televisions I have purchased, the first and second being the 24” and 32”, and the fourth being the 55”. Overall, I have been very, very pleased with their performance. I mostly have used them for playing on my game consoles and to watch my DVDs and Blu-Rays, and they looked great on all of these units. Each new Insignia I got improved on the viewing experience from the previous, and now it’s like I have my own mini theater right in my own bedroom. Initial setup is simple and straight forward. There are different tabs for different aspects of the screen you want to configure, such as one for the visuals, one for audio, one for the channels, etc. For the tab that deals with the visual display, I like to keep it at the Vivid setting with slight adjustments, for those bright, vibrant colors. The sound coming straight from the units themselves are fair enough, but you can tell it’s coming from the TV, I’m not sure how to describe it. It’s almost more like a monaural sound, not stereo. I would suggest attaching some kind of speaker system if you really want better audio quality. Also, I like how the HDMI ports go to the side, not straight out backwards. This helps save much depth space, and your cables won’t be so scrunched up close to the wall. As of this writing, I haven’t used any of my Insignias to watch any actual cable channels just yet, and I’ll leave that to those reviewers who have used these units for TV watching purposes. But coming from how great all these screens run video games and Blu-Rays and DVDs, I’m sure the picture is great for watching channels as well. For being, I heard, the store brand of televisions for Best Buy, Insignia is not a bad choice. I think they are able to mass produce these lines of television so it is more available to more of the population. But don’t be fooled. Yes, Insignia does have Smart TV and 4K versions of some its screens, but the non-Smart TVs and 720s and 1080s work just as well for those who don’t need/use all those extra bells and whistles, and/or who are fine with those resolutions for now. 4K will be around for a while; you can always choose to invest in 4K later. It may be the new thing as of now, but who knows? Another handful of years down the line, and the new thing might be 8K, or 16K. If you’re one of those on a tight budget, but looking for just a good-quality television that does the job, look no further than the Insignia fleet of bargain televisions. Other brands of TVs of even similar sizes could be twice the cost or more. Need a good modern flat-screen that won’t nickel and dime you? You’ve found them. I would like to stand by Insignia’s statement in their aim to bring “simple, focused products [that] give you what you need to make the everyday a little easier.” I would also once again like to thank Insignia and Best Buy for making owning a flat-screen much more accessible and affordable for the masses.

Wanted a bigger TV for basement. Use ROKU, so don't have need for a Smart TV. Putting a ROKU Streaming Stick on your dumb TV will make it smart. Great price. Picture looks good. It's a bit slow changing from one channel to another, but that's no big deal. The placement of the legs of the TV made it too big for my TV stand. So, I removed the feet and ordered a Table-Top TV stand from Amazon and it works great. A little extra cost, but I got such a great price on the TV, it was worth it not having to get a new TV stand or jerry-rig the present one. I knew this Insignia brand was decent, cuz I purchased a small one for countertop in kitchen. Picture's great on that, too.

When I bought this TV, somehow I thought it was smart and hdtv all together. Otherwise it isfantastic! Performs well, no complaints, just doesn't seem to be smart. But might be.

I am happy with my purchase if this tv! So far I haven't had any problems at all with it. The image is great! If I had to make a complaint about the tv it would be the sound isn't as good as I would like, but I haven't messed around with the audio controls yet so that may fix the sound quality issues I have.

We needed a new big screen tv and we purchased this brand and we love it!

I purchased a 32" 1080p Insignia 2 years ago and thus far it has exceeded my expectations for both picture quality and overall durability. I been delightfully surprised to find the unit undamaged after taking several counter height falls. I found the unit to be quite portable and easily moved from playroom to bedrooms to kitchen to wherever Mom has herded her little's. I digress... In late November, early December of 2018 I found myself Christmas shopping for a screen to fit a specific dimension. After hours of idle research, reading customer reviews, price shopping and numerous comparisons I pulled the trigger on this 43" for $180 which was shipped to my home for free. After un-boxing we were streaming Nick Jr and Prime video in no time. Myself, my kids and my pocketbook were all happy. The unit has performed as outlined in the specifications and has beyond my kids expectations as both the 8yo and 3yo cant tell if it is 1080p or 4k. In summation, if your shopping for a TV, around this size with a $500 budget I recommend saving $300 by purchasing this one for around $200. Competitors products are many, and most have more options and brand recognition but the added features and name plates are not worth the added cost. So if its already in your cart you are halfway down good decision street. Complete your journey and place the order. Now in a few days when your thinking 'What should I do with the money I saved?" Well, make arrangements for a sitter, get the kids some pizza, set them up for a night of binge watching My Little Pony and Blaze with Nana. Yup, that right, surprise the old ball and chain with a date night courtesy of your regret free purchase. P.S. I felt this product review warranted more than the average BOLTR since best buy though it was so important. They nagged me with email after email hinting, asking, begging that I review the product. Bets Buy just couldn't get over getting ghosted. I hope this gives you some closure Best Buy. Its not you, its me.

Having moved up from a 32" off brand television to this 43" private label television (Insignia is the private label of Best Buy, so I understand) was a good choice. It is crystal clear, seems stable on its feet, has a great remote with readable buttons, and doesn't flicker or fudge when streaming dense graphics or sports. Only had it a week thus far, but it seems to be a winner. A few caveats: first, don't expect to be overwhelmed with a wealth of instructional material out of the box. You have to go online and download the instruction manual for that, and given that I'm not a geek, I had to download the manual in order to figure out how to tweak this tech beast. Next, if you plan to stream, say a Roku, device you had better be sure to set your cable box (mine is Comcast/Xfinity) to default to a 1080p image setting. You do this by leaving the TV on but turning off your cable box, then choosing the "Menu" button on your cable remote and scrolling to the option to set the resolution (to 1080). Next, be sure your Roku (or whatever streamer you have) is set to 1080 also. This advice came from somewhere online as I was searching for why my Roku would play sound but no picture. My Roku was factory set at 720. Soon as I chose those settings, I had a great mini-theater in my living room! All in all, this is a very good TV for the price point, and for only $40 more you can extend the warranty for five years. That should be enough time to allow for the next big advance in tech for low-cost TVs.
