Works great with the Ally z1e. Plently of usb slots to connect accessories. Beware though, the included charger doesn't provide enough juice to get you to 30w Turbo Mode. Ordered a bigger brick and cable to see if that fixes it. Grab this when it goes on sale... otherwise, it's just like any other dock you can find online, just almost double the price

LOVE my ROG so much! Runs very smooth and has great graphics. Only downfall is the battery life isn’t the greatest. I usually play docked so doesn’t affect me much. Battery life is the reason for four stars.

[Employee of bestbuy] Ive tried everything and no 30 watt turbo mode. Only runs at 25w turbo when docked. Installed all Windows, firmware and MyAsus updates and i even bought the official ASUS charging dock to plug into the Insignia dock and still only get 25w. I do get 30w turbo while playing handheld with the provided 65w adapter so its clearly an issue with the power passthrough on the dock.

This docking station works flawlessly with the ROG Ally. Setup was simple, and it gives me all the ports I need to connect to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse without any issues. The build quality feels sturdy, and it keeps the Ally secure while charging. HDMI output is smooth with no lag, and the USB ports handle accessories perfectly. It’s a must-have if you want to turn your ROG Ally into a desktop-style setup.

When I purchase a product from ROG, I expect it to be 5 stars. My interpretation of five stars means: - Ready for Release - Proper Promotion - Adequate baseline of knowledge from Salesperson - Competitive technical standard against other similar products - I look for Longevity, versatility and durability. The product was NOT, ready for release. Frames are abysmally lacking for basic RPG's, with excess lag. (Fortnite, Call of duty). For a product like this, being sold commercially at Best Buy, a consumer SHOULD NOT EVER, need to know anything regarding Software Downloads (Ryzen OC, Windows Framework, Optimization, or tweaking in game settings) I should be able to just open up and play. Because it functions on Windows OS, if a user doesn't have a HIGH level of computer literacy- likeliness of return is subsequently extremely high because of the next issue- it should be noted the only game I have comfortably played on it is (Mortal Shell). Promotion. This was not promoted properly. If so, it would be known, that it needed to be marketed with the consumer knowing they would need a keyboard, mouse, and usb adapter (Which Insignia made a great dock for.) But if their not marketed together then a consumer only understands a single dimension of the products intended application. Just setting up your windows account and that being NECESSARY to even use the device is extremely unappealing and a nightmare to use the on screen keyboard just to log in. (Maybe make a stylus) Which introduces the next point, IF you DO NOT have Wifi, or Data on your cell phone, then you'll have to find a public network to set the device up on. That should not only have been communicated ON RELEASE, Marketed with that in mind, BUT ABSOLUTELY known and communicated by the retail associates. Unfortunately because of the complexity of these systems, associates seem to be lacking, and no one prompted or encouraged me to even look at the E-GPU (Extended Graphics Processing Unit) Which considers additional enhanced graphical rendering power from from tensor and cuda cores offered by NVIDEA (NOT RYZEN). So unless I do my own research, it seems like the associates are clueless. Given the lack of information by the associates, I studied the technology and predicated my purchase on the technical aspect of Ryzen's expansion from a 16bit to 32bit expansion for the bus between the CPU and RAM intended to introduce alacrity between exchange of data and expanding bandwidth, this architectural concept being developed in the ATX and other form factors was not implemented from what I can find in the advertised literature OR detect in its design via gameplay. Again, IF YOU MARKET CALL OF DUTY WARZONE, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO JUST DOWNLOAD AND PLAY WARZONE. Now I have two virtual copies of MW2 and MW3 respectively (69.99) each that I can't even play on this device, Which I purchased for that exact reason. Better technical design from the point of assembly data language becomes crucial and was completely overlooked. Sloppy. I'd sooner just play Warzone mobile on my phone, and then switch to console or buy the Logitech or Lenovo handheld if they roughly perform to the same or better standard. Additionally, Rog is ALREADY planning to release a new model for 2k24/2k25 which shows more technological contemplation should have occurred and the release was rushed. The preceding point rules out longevity. If the product becomes obsolete within a year, it's fair to say more planning should have gone into the development of the device. I find myself wanting to buy next years release, ONLY because the initial release was SO BAD. I DON'T want to buy a new one every fiscal year, just to find out a new model is being proposed Q3-Q4 of the same year. That's an unhealthy corporate/executive mentality intended to maximize profit, that ironically is the most detrimental business plan in the technological landscape of 2k24. How to lose 75% of your potential consumer demographics in a nutshell: Don't even create a localized (Device to Device) Multiplayer option so the lowest and lower tiers of your socioeconomic bracket without or with limited internet or cellular options cant play. It would take like a week. Lazy Development. I appreciate its versatility, It can comfortably run just as a desktop supporting multiple monitors. This is great for workflow though, not so much gaming. Pretty Sturdy, would recommend buying the ROG case with it. On a final note: Im very dissapointed. I had extremely high expectations for the ROG Ally as I build custom gaming rigs and have used and defaulted to ROG Products. (My favorite being the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS GLACIAL x GUNDAM Edition that I sold to my former business partner.) I have witnessed incredible performance from ASUS but they and I know at a $500-$700 price point a MUCH better product SHOULD and could have been made.

It works wonderfully for my 512 LCD Steam deck. It has HDMI, USB for power, several USB ports, it fits inside with the Skull & Co. Gripcase still attached and has plenty of room. There is one downside: you have to put the steam deck to the side a little, and not center it in the dock so it doesn't block the vent. Big plus here is: the dock's USB that goes into steam deck goes in and out really nicely but still snug.

Thanks for the detailed feedback! We're glad the dock works great with your Steam Deck—even with the Gripcase on. Noted on the vent alignment tip—that's super helpful for others too!

I recently grabbed the ASUS Docking Station for my ROG Ally, and it’s been a total game changer. It turns the handheld into a full desktop setup instantly perfect for when I want to switch from gaming on the go to playing on a big screen or getting some work done. The build quality is solid, and the design fits the ROG aesthetic perfectly. I love that it includes all the ports I need HDMI, USB-A, USB-C, and Ethernet so I can connect a keyboard, mouse, monitor, and wired internet all at once without a hitch. It’s plug and play, no setup hassle, and everything just works. Whether I’m gaming, streaming, or multitasking, this dock keeps up without any lag or connection drops. If you own a ROG Ally, this dock is basically essential.

I've always wanted to build a PC to get access to all the indie games available on steam. Then along came these handhelds. I weighed the pros and cons with different systems and landed on this one. I love it! I use my console for larger games like COD and Assasins creed but it's perfect for everything else. I also got the dock to go with it. Just note that it's essentially a handheld pc. You will have to set it up like a desktop. Also make sure to check the controller compatibility on steam because some games you'll have to manually input the configurations. Also the battery isn't the best but it isn't often that i'm playing it off the dock or not near my charger, running a game battery life is like 2 1/2 maybe 3hrs, depending on the game and settings. All together great purchase, currently playing Once Human, The Quinfall and Enshrouded on it along with some emulators for older games.

Been using this since day ine of purchasing my ROG Ally X. It gets the job done but my Ally X fits a little snug, being a little thicker than the original model. It would fit better for an original ROG Ally or a SteamDeck. Other than the uncomfortable tight fit, it works really well with my Samsung TV and turns my portable console into a home console.

Shouldn't be marketed with the Rog Ally, doesn't handle 30w turbo. Works ok otherwise as a dock & you get "performance" mode. Even when trying a different 100w PD adapter or the 65w OEM adapter (both which work fine on their own), so it seems to be a problem with the power passthrough? Tough call on the recommendation, while, yes it "works", you would expect when docked to get full performance of the Ally.....

Rog Ally screen on the TV, check! Mouse and keyboard connected, check! Still one port left, perhaps for some headphones? This is such a handy companion to have when you can't rely on Bluetooth-only peripherals. And even though the Rog itself comes with a 65W charger, now you can have another one for all your other USB-C devices. Will eventually use the ethernet port if I ever decide to play anything other than old singleplayer games. The ports alone made this the obvious docking station choice for me over the official ASUS branded one.
