I was surprised that is was as easy as plug and play. No software to download, no internet options to change, literally plug it in and it automatically connects hardwired to the internet. I was shocked. Very fast too. I prefer a wired connection and my new laptop didn’t have a Ethernet plug. Glad this worked out great

I am glad that I found this product. It works just as it is intended too. I needed it for work.

Needed a USB Type-C to Ethernet adapter for my upgraded work laptop and this one worked as expected.

While almost everything can be done with WiFi today, I suddenly needed an Ethernet port on my MacBook Pro to diagnose a wired network installation. I picked up one of these Insignia adapters and it fit the bill perfectly. Plug-and-play in macOS and in Windows, perfectly reliable, and it fits easily in a pocket or any computer sleeve or bag. I even torture tested it with some heavy sustained file transfers and it continued to provide reliable, full-speed performance, though it can get just a little warm to the touch with continued heavy use. Do note that this adapter does have link and traffic LEDs and there's no way to disable them. For my use case this was ideal, but if you don't want any blinking lights you may want to look at another brand.

My new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop is so thin that it uses a USB Type C plug to connect to the internet. My router cable had the RG-45 telephone style plug, so I needed this adapter. It works great. I expect to use it in hotel rooms, etc. that still use the RG-45 plugs. I can connect to my router with wi-fi, but the direct cable is faster. It costs more than I expected, but am glad I bought it.

I recently bought a new chromebook that is essentially WiFi only. That is not a problem in most places. At my office all of our network machines are wired networking only. So I needed a way to connect and this was the best option I found. There is zero setup. It works just like a built-in port. Small enough to easily fit into my laptop sleeve pocket. Highly recommend this ethernet adapter.

Does exactly what it was intended to do and freed my laptop up from the office wifi and put me onto the office LAN internet for better performance in zoom webX and team type meetings. No more glitches and dropped video calls on my MacBook Air with type -C USB in conference rooms with RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet cables. Just used a splitter off of my desktop connection at my desk to conference table.

This works great to add ethernet capability to your devices. I mostly use it with my HP Envy laptop since it doesn't have a built-in ethernet port, but it also works with both my Samsung galaxy tablet and phone, unlike some other brands I tried. The slim design doesn't get in your way. Overall just really nice and a great price, too.

I have gigabit fiber and while wireless is fast, I get a fraction of the speed I would like. I use wireless (AC mostly) but in my office, where my fiber modem is, I'm able to hook up directly to my router. Since my Mac doesn't have an Ethernet port, I purchased this adaptor. It's plug and play (once you enable the Ethernet port in network setting.

I was setting up a new network with my MacBook Pro. 90% of the configuration is done wirelessly. However, the initial configuration needs to be done with an actual connection. This adapter works perfectly. I plugged it in and it was instantly recognized and available. I keep this adapter in my bag everywhere I go.

This is essential. My laptop does not have an ethernet port so purchasing this allowed me to plug in directly to the router to get the highest speed of my internet and the adapter with the USB Type-C allowed me to use a port without tying up my USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports which I use more. I am very pleased.

This adapter is compatible with the Asus ZenPad 10 Android verion 7.0. Using a tablet to troubleshoot networks is so much easier than using a laptop. No special software is needed since I only need a web browser to connect to my equipment.

Works right out of the box. No fiddling with software. Just plug it in and it works. Was looking to get wired speeds on a Windows PC with no Ethernet port. I was able to double my max wireless speeds with this adapter. I was only able to get around 300mbs over WiFi but was able to double that speed using this Ethernet to C adapter. Have 1 gig service from AT&T and finally can utilize it.

The new Macbook doesn't have an ethernet port. This is the remedy. Plug it into your USB-C port and attach an ethernet cable that goes directly to your router. Great for zooming and streaming. No loss of signal due to wifty wi-fi. A good idea for anyone with a newer Macbook air or Pro.

After messing around for a couple of weeks with other USB-C to Gigabit ethernet adapters, including high-end powered and unpowered hubs, I finally have a simple, plug and play, ethernet adapter for my 2018 MacBook Pro that just works. Yes, I plugged it in. And it worked. There were no "drivers" to download and install, no step-by-step network configurations, no tech troubleshooting and waiting for a support response because my Macbook could not "recognize' the other adapters. None of that. I plugged this Insignia adapter in and it IMMEDIATELY connected my MacBook Pro computer to my router via DHCP. I couldn't be happier after all the frustration I experienced with the other, much more expensive, adapters. The Apple tech at Best Buy was kind enough to check online to make sure this adapter wouldn't need a driver and he was on point. He was able to tell me that Apple itself doesn't make one of these specific adapters themselves, which is a bit weird, but also very helpful information. This is an excellent USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter. It just works. Right out of the box.

Needed a gigabit adapter to replace my old slower type A adapter since I wanted full gigabit speed. This fit the bill, worked flawlessly, and maxes out my speedcap at over 101MB/s (1,000+Mbps). No-brainer purchase if you need a product that does what it's supposed to do.

This works as advertised. When Macbook went to only USB-C plugs on their computer, you have to buy almost any adapter (less USB-C) you need to use with your PC. This works as advertised and is a cheap alternative to anything branded Apple.

I bought another brand and you had to download software, ah, no. This one, just plug and play. I have 2, one for home and one for work. Much faster than wifi, can take advantage of the high speed from Cox.

Since everything is going to USB-C, needed a reliable connection to increase my internet speed and connect an ethernet cable to my computer. Easy to use. Have had no issues with reliability or connection.

I have needed to use this several times with my MacBook Pro. It works great and I have never had a problem with it. It does get pretty warm while using it, but so do all of the other brands that I have tried.
