Q: Is one speaker a 6x8 and the other 5x7 or are they both 6x8 speakers, im confused
A: It means these speakers will fit both 5x7 and 6x8 requirements with minimal modification. I recommend doing a search to verify what speakers your car manufacturer specifies.
A: I would suggest replacing all 4 speakers for the best sound, that's what I did in my F150. They sound great.

As per your inquiry, If the Head Unit can only handle the lowest impedance of 4 ohms, and you connect a 2.3 ohm speaker, It will run hotter as It will try to produce power way over the RMS wattage, at high volumes and will eventually fail. Both Head Unit and speakers will play distortion at high volume levels.
