About this product
It is our distinct pleasure to present the Lost Album from '60s teen combo, Johnny's Uncalled Four.If you're the type of person who obsessively studies the production personnel on the back of your favorite albums, chances are you're already familiar with John (NY) Golden. Since the late sixties he has earned a reputation as an elite and prolific mastering engineer, credited with cutting thousands of masters for generations of artists, including legendary albums by The Fifth Dimension, Bill Withers, Earth Wind & Fire, Iggy Pop, Sonny Rollins, and Brian Eno. In 1982, while working as a staff engineer at K-Disc in Hollywood, John was tasked to master the TV Party single by punk luminaries Black Flag - leading to work for Sub Pop, K Records, Touch & Go, and the entire SST catalog up until 1991.In 1994 John and his daughter, April, opened Golden Mastering, an audio haven in Ventura, California, that is run and operated by John, his wife Diane, and his son, J.J.-a top-tier master of the craft in his own right. In 2011, Daptone Records mastered our first record with the Goldens, and we have been devoted customers ever since. One serendipitous afternoon, while attending a session with J.J. for an upcoming , Gabriel Roth overheard John listening to some old reels in the adjacent room. When J.J. explained that his dad was transferring tapes of his old band, Johnny's Uncalled Four, Roth had to hear more. Completely floored by the caliber of the tunes, talks of releasing Johnny's Uncalled Four's long lost album were fruitful, culminating in 14 tracks of post-Elvis/pre-British Invasion, unadulterated Rock n Roll.1. As Ceeys, brothers Sebastian and Daniel Selke have explored themes surrounding their communist, East German heritage throughout their careers. On HAUSMUSIK, their fifth album to date, the award-winning duo takes this narrative a step forward with a double album. With it, Ceeys elevate their style to a new level, eschewing the use of electronics, synthesizers and effects altogether and shaping the sound with only cello and piano. Packaged in minimalist experimental improvisations between avant-garde and pop, HAUSMUSIK combines elements of both ambient and classical chamber music. Album Tracks 1. Vice Versa 2. Reunion 3. Im Fenster 4. Circa 5. Belka 6. Strelka 7. To Open a Door's Inner Frame 8. Fallen 9. Yes, Brick By Brick 10. No. Eins

2009 . The Long Lost is the sound of love. Imagine Nico had left the Velvet Underground and decided to relocate to California with Caetano Veloso. And imagine that the pair then slipped through a time portal while high on mescaline and came 'round in the late nineties, with the kind of production twists that era would allow. Imagine most of all their beautiful attempt to write and make a new popular music about love was completely sincere, utterly lacking in guile, and full of all the queasy, wonderful, sometimes awful overwhelming emotions. That, my friends, is The Long Lost. 14 tracks. Album Tracks 1. The Art of Kissing 2. Amiss 3. Sibilance 4. Overmuch 5. Past Perfect 6. Ballroom Dance Club 7. Siren Song 8. Colour 9. Regrets Only 10. Cat Fancy 11. Wobegone 12. Finders Keepers 13. Domestics 14. Awash
