You have never heard of Paolo Litta? The pianist Michael Schäfer will teach you better, because for 14 years the pianist has been digging up untiringly forgotten works in his Edition Un!erhört at GENUIN. With the concert trilogy by Paolo Litta, he and violinist Ilona Then-Bergh have discovered a particularly exciting major work of symbolism. In the successively published parts InchDer Minne-SeeInch, InchDie entschleierte GöttinInch and InchDer Tod als FiedlerInch, literature, art and music are interwoven into a total work of art. From Georges Rodenbach's novel Bruges-la-Morte, Paolo Litta took the setting and from Paul Gauguin the three-part form, which simultaneously symbolises the course of human life, birth, life and death. Richard Wagner's leitmotif flows into his work, combining all three parts. The music is very poetic, almost innocently playful in the first part InchDer Minne-SeeInch, dramatic in the second part, in which the man's psyche struggles with suffering and doubt, and highly virtuoso in the last part, in which death approaches inexorably. On this recording, it is impossible not to hear how much Ilona Then-Bergh and Michael Schäfer merge with the composer's intentions. A discovery not to be missed! Album Tracks 1. Konzert-Trilogie FÜR Violine Und Klavier 2. Le Lac D'amour - Der Minne-See (1909) 3. La Déesse Nue - Die Entschleierte Göttin (1912) 4. Der Tod Als Fiedler - Le Ménétrier, la Mort (1924)

Composer Christian FP Kram devotes himself to an almost forgotten genre he writes piano lieder - intimate, lyrical, pointed miniatures of text and music. Mareike Schellenberger (mezzo-soprano) and Christopher Jung (baritone), as well as the pianists Jan Roelof Wolthuis and Olivier Lechardeur, present five of his song cycles, almost all of which are world premiere recordings on a new GENUIN album. Among them are songs based on texts by Hermann Hesse, Friedrich Nietzsche, Sargon Boulus, Katerina Rudcenková and Kevin Perryman. Kram's songs are fascinating soundscapes compositionally differentiated, but always in their creator's original and concise musical language. Album Tracks 1. Grenzschatten (2004/2010) 2. Sargon (2001) 3. Nietzsche-Sentenzen (2019) 4. Stille Reflexionen (2002) 5. Eingeschneit (2012)
