Works well, you control the speed by how firm you hold the trigger down, and it's reasonably sensitive. The faster you go it will tend to suck the blender down towards to the bottom of the pot, so if you're concerned about metal on metal contact, there's an included plastic guard you can mount onto the bottom rim of the blender cup. The cord isn't that long, but if you have an outlet near your range, it's fine and it keeps excess cord out of the way. Powerful enough for me just making soups, etc.
