About this product
2014 180 G vinyl LP pressing with download code. Last Ex is a new instrumental rock ensemble led by Simon Trottier and Olivier Fairfield, long active in Quebec's experimental/punk scene, though perhaps best known as core members of Timber Timbre, which spawned the Last Ex project. With it's combination of assured lyricism, cinematic guitars, dusky analog atmospherics and taut percussion, this is an instrumental rock album of superb compositional and melodic sensibility, balancing expressiveness and restraint, atmosphere and detail, bound by a highly original approach to production. Album Tracks 1. Hotel Blues 2. Girl Seizures 3. Flûte Magique 4. It's Not Chris 5. Resurrection Drive Part I 6. Neil's Theme 7. Trop Tard 8. Cape Fear 9. Cité D or 10. Hotel Blues Returns 11. Building on 2018's Slow Air, Still Corners return with an album about the myth and folklore of the open road. The Last Exit consists of eleven beautifully crafted songs with organic instrumentation, clean-toned guitar, spacious drums and the smoky croon of Tessa Murray. Album highlights include InchThe Last ExitInch, InchWhite SandsInch and InchShifting DunesInch all of which evoke the vast space of the desert and rolling unconcerned skies.

2014 vinyl LP pressing with download code. Ex Hex are a power trio from Washington, DC, making the music you've been waiting for. Drums, bass, guitar, P90s, searing leads-this is unapologetic rock 'n' roll spat out in the discipline's mother tongue. The band are Mary Timony (Autoclave, Helium) & Laura Harris (The Aquarium, Benjy Ferree), Betsy Wright. In the Spring of 2014 they, headed into the studio. Working furiously, they recorded over the span of two weeks in North Carolina with Mitch Easter (Let's Active) and in the basement of Mary's home with frequent collaborator Jonah Takagi. Bobby Harlow (The Go, Conspiracy of Owls) was tapped to mix because of his unique take on making rock records. What results is Ex Hex Rips, twelve songs about underdogs, guys stealing your wallet, schoolyard brawls, and getting bent. The record happens pretty quickly, so don't blink. Album Tracks 1.
