My family was faced with a child related, "I wonder what happens when I put this in the microwave?", failure of our old microwave. Due to the sudden loss of a microwave that doesn't make food taste like plastic and burnt electronics we decided to pick up this LG mainly due to the great experiences with our other similarly branded appliances. Nothing in particular was good/bad about the install and if you've ever put in a microhood yourself you'll understand: it's not hard, not easy, but also not particularly fun. This LG was nearly the same as any other so nothing good or bad to apply here. If you're getting it installed, awesome. If you're installing it yourself and have done them before, well, no surprises here at least. If you're installing it yourself and this is your first, be careful it's heavy, bring a second set of hands, DO use the templet, and measure twice drill once. Like I said, it's heavy... To be perfectly honest I was not expecting the world. I was grateful just to be able to go and physically pick up the unit and install it on a weekend. After getting it hung and plugged in I started with the most routine stuff like setting the time, test heating a pyrex bowl with water in it, and just generally pushing all the buttons. Then, I discovered the best thing to be brought into the world of microhoods: finally it's a REALLY good hood! I've always liked the idea of having a microwave built in to a cabinet and a real exhaust hood over my stove. Unfortunately myself and others do not have the kitchen space/size to realistically have this kind of setup so the microwave as a hood option is our best bet. Every microwave hood I have used really seems more like it's for show than anything else. Keeping the steam from boiling pots out of your face, smoke, smells, etc. it didn't matter none of them would do enough to make any real noticeable difference. This microhood is different... Just press in on the bottom edge gently and the front will "ExtendaVent 2.0" out and the intake vents in the back will drop down 20-30 degrees. Even with the fan on it's lowest setting the steam from a pot boiling on the front of my stove will be drawn toward the back and into the hood air intakes. Nothing going up the front and making the microwave door wet and nothing even close to me. I can imagine if you wear glasses this probably sounds amazing, but even if you don't, it still is. Finally a microhood that doesn't just heat your food, it actually does what a real hood does! Side note: The exhaust fans do still work well enough to be very good even if you run them without "ExtendaVent 2.0"ing the hood. It's just that the difference is pretty substantial and now, personally, I don't use the exhaust without extending it. As for the microwave it's self it's a very good looking appliance once installed. Personally I didn't have any expectations but was pleasantly surprised after it was in how much nicer it's made the kitchen look all by its self. The functions offered are pretty standard for these now with options for automatic/sensor softening, heating, and cooking with a convenient list (small) on the lower inner edge behind the door. I have tried a few and have had the best results of any other sensor assist microwave setting before it. Softening butter actually works without leaving a puddle, or my personal favorite the liquid in the middle hard as a rock on the ends butter. Credit where credit is due: if the butter setting works as well as the other sensor settings... can it pop a bag of pocorn by its self without burning it? Yes... yes it can! -Not the most expensive microhood but not the cheapest. -A lot of functionality for the money, and the ExtendaVent option makes it worth more in my opinion. Price out a good (GOOD) hood and a mid-range microwave separate and see which is cheaper. -Looks sharp and the ExtendaVent blends in well without catching the eye or looking out of place. -WiFi for those who want it, and settings/functions are easy to find and navigate or use without having to go dig out the manual or look it up on your phone each time. -Lots of interior space. There's enough room inside, along with a clever recess on the inside of the door (look at the turn table, it sticks out when the door is open) that allows us to put square dinner plates in and the corners do not hit! A win in its self if, like me, you were shopping for new plates because of this and now don't have to! Or, you know, buy them anyway and forget you read any of this because not working in the microwave is a great excuse that I use all, the, time. By the way, it microwaves like its an Olympic sport: keep this in mind and adjust your cooking times until you get used to it. Great microwave with lots of features and options that will make you feel as though you truly got your money's worth even after coming to grips with how much these things cost thanks to inflation!

We've had this installed for about two weeks. We are very happy with it so far. The extend a vent feature seems to work pretty well. That was what steered me towards LG and I'm glad I bought it. My wife wasn't sold on the modern look at first but now that she's been using it she loves it. Her square dinner plates go around without hitting the door like they did in our old OTR microwave. I would like much brighter interior lighting when it is running so I can see better what's cooking. The controls are easy to use and mostly intuitive. If it is reliable then I will be even happier that I chose this one.

Beautiful, high tech and lots of presets. I love that this microwave looks so good and performs so well. The fan is really effective especially with the extending vent. I like the alerts in the app when the food is done. I also like all the presets and smart sensor cooking. The only issues I have are that while the stainless steel doesn’t show fingerprints (awesome) the glass of course does so you’re still wiping it down frequently and the touch sensitivity could be a tad higher to match what we are used to with our phones and tablets.

We have had this Microwave for over a month. We are very happy with the design, features and performance. This microwave features an extra vent, you push on the front bottom panel which extends the fan outward and drops down two extra vent screens, it has multiple fan levels. By extending over the cooking surface of the stove top it allows for more steam to be captured. It is very accurate in heating up food. We would highly recommend it!

Visually very appealing and when ducted properly with external venting, the vent hood with pop out is terrific. The large capacity is fantastic for reheating or cooking anything. The door is the entire 30” width so it does swing out quite far so you really need to be on the right side, not in front, to open without ducking under. The only issue I have is the touch button areas don’t appear instantly when the microwave front is touched, only when the area directly in front of a button zone is pressed firmly.

Be sure your cabinets are deep enough. I have 12" deep cabinets and this sticks out a little further than the one that came with my house. It wouldn't be too bad but the sides aren't flat, so it looks bad in my opinion. I'm going to make a trim to cover it as I really want the extended vent system but don't want to replace my cabinets LOL The good: super quiet, looks great, nice lighting, HUGE turntable, cool chime, has an off timer for the fan. The bad: touch panel shows finger prints real bad. Side panel isn't flat so it looks bad if your cabinets aren't deep enough to cover the sides. This DOES NOT have Alexa / Google connectivity. It does connect to ThinQ but there are no exposed funtions to Alexa. Best Buy please fix that in your features. LG - if you are reading, add some custom chimes in ThinQ, maybe even a user custom upload. Add the fan control to alexa. "Alexa, turn off microwave fan" and "Alexa, cancel alarm"(to stop the "done" reminder beep), "alexa, reheat soup" are some examples.

We needed a new microwave to replace an older one when remodeling our kitchen. As we own a number of LG products, being happy with the brand, selecting this product was a no brainer for us. The microwave is stylish and fits the design and look of our kitchen. In addition to having an appealing appearance, the features of this microwave are actually useful and practical. The pull-out filter and powerful air extraction help to minimize condensation and any fumes in the kitchen. The extensive menu of presets is also useful to facilitate the selection of the right program for various food types and cooking times, reheating, etc. The intensity of the light below the microwave can be adjusted to an optimal setting and provides sufficient illumination for the stove top. We are happy with our purchase overall and would recommend this product.

Absolutely love this microwave, it’s so sleek, so easy to clean, and so user friendly. It does take a little longer to warm up certain things so instead of 30seconds is put it for 45 or a minute but that’s just my preference because I like things extra scorching hot. Personally, I don’t mind the extra time needed because over all this is the best microwave I’ve ever had that just pulls my kitchen together

This is an awesome microwave! The extendable fans that slide forward are like something out of the Avengers. The popcorn sensor worked beautifully although there were a few more kernels left unpopped than I like but still acceptable. Reheating a plate of various density foods went well too witht ehsensor cooking option. So far so good. Connected with ThinQ easily as well.

I’m so glad I listened to Mr Rudy from Pearland location when he recommended this microwave upon hearing my needs. I love how the vent is extendable to cover the whole gas range, we cook with lots of spices that others may find smelly so that is an awesome function. It has lots of useful settings that my old microwave doesn’t have such as food sensor which evenly warm the food, specific functions for specific food to cook or thaw, etc. I love the sleek design and how it looks on my kitchen.

It is an enjoyable purchase from Best Buy, including help and support from the BestBuy staff to make it easy to select and buy the item. Easy to operate and "sensor" based cooking is just fantastic. The heating power and functions are silky smooth. LG's ThinkQ application made it more enjoyable—a well-designed and built unit.

Our microwave control board was ruined by heat and steam. It happened before and last time I just replaced the control panel. Decided to replace the microwave this time. I’ve had good luck with LG appliances in the past and found a great open box deal on this LG model MVEL2125F 2.1 cu. ft. Smart Over-the-Range Microwave with ExtendaVent® 2.0. It didn’t look like the contents of the box had ever been disturbed and installation was a breeze. I’m 71 years old and installed it by myself. The light inside the microwave is bright, as are the over the range LED lights. We really appreciate the Extenda Vent which puts exhaust vents over the front burners of the stove. There are all the options you could ask for and the app can be useful. I recommend this product.

I love how clean it looks, with no handles. Works well. With the slide-out vent, it might be taller than comparable units. The buttons on the bottom were a selling point for me as a vertically-challenged individual. I love it so far, just wish it was a little quieter. (maybe all microwaves are the same?)

First lets state the obvious, it's a microwave. LG did not reinvent this technology nor am I convinced with the gimmicky scan your food for automatic timer. With that said, as far as being a microwave, it does that well. I also do not think you need to connect this to your wifi to control your fan speed or turn on your lights, but I did. Where this microwave stands out is the looks. My friend came over and honestly asked what was above my stove. Its a stunner appliance. I also like the extend vents which come in handy when you use the front burners. The LED light is also a nice touch and looks nice when turned on. The no handle was diffrent but we got used to it quickly. My only complaint! The window is so dark its really hard to see the food when you are microwaving, but thats where it ends. I would buy it again if it died in a few years.

New microwave is very nice and fits like a glove in the old spot. I couldn't be happier with the installation and with the unit itself. I had measured the demo unit in Best Buy and it was nearly a match for my old microwave. My only other big concern was that it didn't support an outside vent. I'm happy to report it does. Quick notes: - Very easy to read display with large letters. - Fan On/Off is separate from the speed. Nice to have it separated like that. - Wifi is neat to have. I can turn on/off the light, fan, and the microwave itself (cook time defaults to 10 seconds). There is also a night light buried in Settings->Preference. Hopefully the built-in IoT computer can also set the time via NTP on the Internet (but I just manually set it myself after it was plugged in). - The extending fan tray is a very nice touch. The back folds down about 15 degrees or so as the tray extends out. - This Microwave vents through the top to a collar adapter to an outside vent.

I do not like using microwaves for cooking, mostly bought it for the vent and to complete my kitchen. Looks amazing and vents well. I find myself using it for prep work now, it has some great features like soften.

So far, I really like this microwave. The display is big and backlit, which makes being able to see in the dark very easy. The sleek design is still classy, so it pairs well with my old black appliances and doesn't look to out of place. It's wifi enabled, which is nice when I need to turn the fan or light off but don't feel like getting up, but not really a necessity. The fan extension has been incredibly helpful in adding additional coverage over the range, especially in my tiny home. Installation was very quick, and the Best Buy installation team did a great job of installing and cleaning up. They even fixed my vent, as it hadn't been properly attached by the previous installers to filter out through the duct and out, but was actually blowing the air back into my kitchen and living room (defeating the purposes of a vent)! Very happy!

Nice smart microwave with extended exhaust fan. It’s very powerful and cooking is done very quickly compared to my previous same size microwave. Like the shiny black look of the body.

This microwave is beautiful. I thought the fingerprints would show more but thank the lord they don’t. The backlit panel is great and the WiFi works good. I just don’t use the WiFi but it’s cool to have. And above all, it doesn’t have that annoying beep at the end of cycle. It has a beautiful little tune that doesn’t bother me at all. Will recommend to all my friends. Oh, and the extendavent works great too.
