A: We’ve had our LG French Door Refrigerator for about 6 weeks now and we can tell you that it took quite a while before it started to consistently produce fully round and totally clear Craft Ice. Now it produces about 3 Craft Ice Balls a day and about 90% of them are round and clear (as clear as an ice cube can be) . Once in a while you’ll get an Odd Ball (Pun intended) where there is a small piece of ice missing from the ball. All in all, the ice maker works pretty good. We enjoy it.
A: This is for LG who answered my question. I did see the Manual. It refers to removing tape, adhesive tapes etc and labels. It is not clear if it refers to the clear plastic film on all doors and the inside Cool Guard Metal Interior panel. Can LG or someone else please clarify on this? Thanks
Q: can the filter be bypassed if I'm using an RO system?
A: The LRFVC2406D has a built in bypass. ^CP
Q: what's the difference between model LRFVC2406S and Model SRFVC2406S ?
A: The SFR is the Studio version. The doors and handles and interior lights are a bit different and the interior color is gray rather than white. I didn't notice any functions that differed. We preferred the look of the Studio, but the doors are too thick and will not open if your refrigerator is surrounded by cabinets or directly adjacent to a counter top. If you have a space where the refrigerator will be out in the open by itself or you don't mind the refrigerator sticking out a few extra inches beyond the counter, you might prefer the studio design. However since the only reason most people spend the extra money to purchase a counter depth refrigerator, is so it fits into the space without protruding beyond the counter or cabinets, makes that solution seem counter productive. (no pun intended) The Studio is a horrible design, while the LRT, while not quite as attractive, fits perfectly and as one would expect of a counter depth refrigerator.
A: Not sure what you mean by a drip tray. But, this refrigerator has two ice making mechanism. On top is the regular ice maker and comes out at the same location as the water dispenser. On the bottom, in the freezer, it makes clear round ice balls. They call it craft ice. Apparently for people who are into hard liquor this type of clear ice is much preferred as it melts slower. However, it’s slow in making craft ice. It makes only three a day.
