Nice monitor. Great resolution and good connectivity options. Ability to accept two inputs and split 50/50 works great.

My cat chewed my LG34GN850B so I was forced to upgrade. As a gamer and someone who works at home, I originally bought the AW34 OLED, but trying to use OLED for work was nearly impossible. The text was too blurry and the screen was too dark. I decided to go with this monitor for the fact that it’s works as a professional work monitor and works great for gaming. The size and resolution are also the sweet spot as folks say. 2160P for 38” is just too much - you can hardly see the text. But with 1600, it feels like you’re using a bigger monitor but still on 1080 or 1440. It’s just perfect. Pros - Brightest monitor I’ve seen - size and resolution are perfect. - 144hz, gsync, - usb C - quick setup Cons - stand is cheap and wobbly - display port cable is short.

I was very torn between getting an ultrawide and two 1440p monitors. I'm a data engineer and work with VS Code, DBeaver, Tableau dashboards, Excel, etc. I found this monitor to be perfect for both work and gaming. I have my personal laptop hooked up via USB C, and my work laptop which has a docking station connected via DisplayPort. Because of the built-in KVM switch, my mouse and keyboard easily switch between my work or personal laptop depending on the input I select. It's honestly the perfect setup. The picture is crystal clear and a joy to view. I find I have plenty of real estate especially if you install Windows PowerToys Fancy Zones for window management, unless you have Win 11 which has pretty good Window management on its own. 38" is the perfect combo for me of size and utility. I think the Samsung super ultra wide 49" would just be too overwhelming for me personally. I wish I had another one of these on my desk upstairs but alas the desk is too small. Gaming is awesome with synced refresh rates working great. Buttery smooth, no issues on that front. My gaming laptop has an Nvidia RTX 4070 (it's an Asus Zephyrus G16). I was able to confirm in the Nvidia Control Panel that G-Sync was working. You may notice if your unit came from Canada that the stick button won't turn the brightness up or down, but rather pulls up an accessibiity menu. It means a couple extra clicks to turn the brightness up or down, which is a little annoying. I somehow managed to fix it the LG secret menu on accident, I'm not exactly sure what I did. All I did was click around a bit then exit, and somehow the geo location of my monitor updated itself. The monitor was connected via Ethernet at the time. Now I can control brightness with the little stick going up or down. If you go that route, I highly advise to be EXTREMELY Careful with those settings. Take a picture of everything before you do anything. Once they are changed, if you screw them up you can't go back. They are not meant to be handled by regular consumers by rather by trained technicians. Why I took off one star. The sound is surprisingly good. HOWEVER, I did experience a little strange static sound on some songs, especially mid heavy music such as piano. At first I thought it was a defective unit and returned and replaced the monitor, but the second one has the exact same issue. The problem seems to be random. It will happen on a song one day, then the next day the same song could play and the issue isn't there. I have no idea what it could be. Most people just get external speakers anyway, but I wanted to mention this. Overall very happy with this buy from LG. Well done. I'll keep it as long as I can.

I really wanted to like this curved monitor. It has the perfect size and resolution, and a great set of properties that cover all bases, from productivity to gaming. There's no other monitor currently on the market with this combination of properties. However, there it has many flaws that ultimately ruin the whole experience. Some of them are probably defects of this particular unit, while others are design flaws. 1) It's WAY too bright. Zero brightness is ok to use during the day, but way too bright at night. And even at zero brightness (and all other settings set to minimize brightness) black is nowhere near black: it's much brighter than black on my Macbook at 100% brightness. And white is about as bright as on the Macbook at 55% brightness. Everything's just way too bright. I also noticed that brightness stops decreasing under 12%, i.e. any setting lower than 12% is as bright as as 12%. This is possibly a defect. 2) USB-A ports don't seem to work at all, none of them (regardless of KVM settings). They're completely dead, while other ports work ok. This is obviously a defect of this unit. 3) A super bright power LED randomly turns on about 10 minutes after the monitor goes to sleep, even when Power LED is switched off in settings. If the monitor's in your bedroom and you've already gone to bed, you have to get up and switch the monitor off, for which you have to first turn it on, wait for it to turn on, go into the menu and switch it off. Kicker: you cannot tape over the LED, because the joystick for navigating the menu *is* the LED. What dumb design decision, and why can't the monitor respect the OFF setting??? 4) Switching between full screen and split screen (PBP) is very poorly designed. The last active full screen input always becomes the "main" input in split screen, which is always on the left. If you want that input to be on the right instead, you have to manually change settings EVERY TIME and it'll forget next time you switch from full to PBP. 5) The LAN connector only connects to one input at a time (it respects the KVM input setting). This is incredibly dumb, because it means that only one device can have ethernet. So if you switch to your laptop while your desktop is downloading something, the desktop will lose the connection, and vice-versa. Why can't this be a simple ethernet hub (where all devices are always connected), or at least be configurable which input gets the connection? If you're lucky enough to not get a defective unit and can live with the design flaws, this is potentially a great monitor. For me this was not the case.

I was on the lookout for an ultrawide monitor for my home office setup, and I finally settled on this LG. It's pretty expensive, but it was important to have a taller screen so the aspect ratio wasn't incredibly rectangular on an ultrawide monitor. Using fancyzones (one of the great programs found in Microsoft's PowerToys), it's a breeze to set up 4-5 distinct windows that I can snap applications into, making multi-tasking quick and efficient. What I love so much about using one really large screen is the footprint is so much smaller compared to stacking 2 and 3 screens side by side - there's more real estate available on the desk for all the peripherals. It's worked flawlessly since I bought it 8 months ago and I would do it again

This is my second monitor. The first one was perfect but it had a large scratch vertically across the screen. Overall this monitor is impressive. I am still not used to ultrawide but it is both excellent for productivity and for gaming. Although the USB-C ports on the monitor are not thunderbolt, my work laptop can utilize the extra screen real estate while charging at the same time. The speakers are also better than I expected which means I can save money from not buying speakers at the moment.

One of the best monitors I have purchased. I use it mostly for WFH and gaming. The size is great for WFH as it allows at least 2 windows open at the same time and still comfortably see. Brightness is good. The slight curvature is subtle but the IPS viewing angles is where this monitor shines. Gaming wise, the 144mhz refresh (with the correct DP cable) is sufficient for what I play. Yes, 240 is ideal but I didn't buy this monitor just for gaming. I have a 240 gaming monitor for that.

Works great. Controls are intuitive, color is great and the built in KVM clears a ton of desk clutter relative (assuming you have a docking station setup with dual monitors). OLED is probably better for gaming but if you value productivity then this is the one as burn-in won't be an issue. The extra screen real estate (both monitor vertical resolution + physical dimensions) are really nice.

Great monitor overall. I use it for work daily and couldn't be happier with the additional screen real estate. The white is sleek and looks good in my office. Only complaint is that it's almost too bright in a darker room... But love it overall.

Love this monitor, the refresh rate is great. It's the perfect size for what I needed it for! It was easy to set up and use right away.

Out of all the monitor i have ever used this ultrawide is the beat monitor i have ever used. The best purchase i have ever made.

If you have more than one, you can’t stack these monitors because the power button joy stick is at the bottom middle of the screen. When people stacking, they want no gap between top and bottom monitor. This means all LG monitors are not good for vertical stacking. Such a poor design.

Better than expected. The usb-c also powers my MacBook!

LG kvm switch software is hot garbage, ive tried to install on 5 different computers. it was the whole reason i bought this thing. may return due to this issue. im getting a kernal error when launching the software
