This is a good value compared to what I have with the credit companies give out at this level. This is a year subscription for one pre-paid price versus what amounts to $4-24 a month, but there are some important differences than what you might get from a credit bureau account. You can have 9 different categories monitored: eMail addresses, addresses, phone numbers, your mother's maiden name, driver's license, insurance accounts, credit cards, bank accounts, and gamer tags. What it will do is scan each of these credentials and make sure that they are not stolen or tampered with during the lifetime of your subscription. This is a little less comprehensive than what you would get with a full LifeLock subscription. I would call this LifeLock Light. You get all the Dark Web monitoring and identity theft protection, but none of the insurance. So if you've seen the big $$$ guarantees on TV or otherwise that go along with most LifeLock plans, this is not one of them. It's really easy to install this on your computer because it's really only web based. There's an app component for your phone, but I doubt you'd interface with it on your phone. This is really a set it and forget it type of item. It will send a message to tell you when something you've asked it to monitor was found on the dark web or otherwise, and then you'd need to figure out the plan of action for yourself. If you want a more proactive team you need to go to a higher plan. I do like that it streamlines freezing your big3 credit reporting companies, which is the mark of a higher end plan. Nice to see it in this product. I tried this out for a month and I think I'll keep it. I like it a lot! It's way more straightforward than the competition. Very easy to see your information. I realize this is not a comprehensive solution and that's all I need for now. I do wish that it had some kind of insurance vs. nothing, but at least I'd know that something happened.

Due to various identity fraud issues in my life over the last 10 years, I have had the "benefit" of receiving various free identity alert guidance. However, all of my "free" options have run out, so I picked up the Lifelock Identity Advisor to make sure there weren't any unexpected changes. There is a convenient dashboard and I received emails immediately with issues that I should look into. This software appears to have all of the primary coverage that I've seen from other companies including phone number, bank account information, credit card number, home address and email address. But I haven't seen Driver's License Number, Insurance Number, or Gamer Tag (is this a concern?). I generally think more is better, so that's a nice wrinkle. The best wrinkle that I noticed was the option to prevent other people from filing their taxes in your name - a new scam where people obtain gift cards by falsifying your tax return. So I like that I won't need to consider that as an issue in the future thanks to this software. The software is very clear that the option to freeze is included, but not the option to "lock" your credit. Locking your credit requires additional cost -- now, this may be a valuable option, but I have been fortunate enough to never need it and wouldn't want to pay for something that I wouldn't use. Generally, I think the freeze is enough if there are any credit issues, because other people can't access my credit records and therefore it's more difficult to obtain a false account under my name. So just really happy with this software as it provides me with the security to make sure no one is destroying my credit.
