Great game but very convaluted on many things. I don't recommend starting on Edo lol. Style and music are top notch. Battle system is a take on grid based stray game. Issue is it isn't clear on who's next. Sometimes I feel like it's random when an enemy gets a turn

Amazing JRPG! The art style is so good! And the combat is fun and the characters as well

This game was really fun. Each scenario sees you playing with unique characters and each their own stories. The chapters aren't very long so its perfect for people who cannot dedicate time for long playthroughs. The stories are interesting and can play completely differently, so it keeps it fresh. The graphics and music are beautiful. For any RPG fan this is a must buy. For newcomers, its great too and welcoming.

I'm a pretty old gamer at this point, and I'd say that the battle system is more for my generation, so if you grew up on the older consoles are you take an interest in them you should enjoy this. With that said, I've actually played the original and this is the best remake I could ask for and with this I'd say its my favorite video game I've played. I think it's uniqueness, replayability and charm just makes for a wonderful experience. You get to play through 8 different worlds, or periods in the history of mankind, with the last unlocking once you complete the other 7. Depending on your tastes in gameplay you will like some experiences more than others. Voice acting is great and every important fight has voice acting, even minor boss enemies that you only deal with once. Again I was very impressed with the remake and urge those who are even a little bit curious to give the game a go.

I never played the original Live A Live, but I’m happy I didn’t because this remake is incredible. This is like Canterbury Tales as an RPG. Square has taken the influence of this game and made octopath traveler, but here is where this concept began. Releasing alongside classics like chrono trigger and final fantasy 6, Live A Live was the black sheep, the forgotten child. It was uglier graphically with a strange battle system that made it an odd duck. Well this remake makes it beautiful and has the final realization of a vision from 1994. 8 characters have their own stories in different eras. Scenarios vary wildly in gameplay and story, and each one is refreshing compared to the last. Then they converge in a genius new addition to this remake that makes it the definitive version. The final chapter is truly something special to behold and a stroke of genius. So happy I got to experience this rare gem.

An old school RPG that finally makes its way west. It has an interesting story that follows multiple character's stories. It has classic gameplay and it looks fantastic on the Switch. If you're a fan of older RPGs, I highly recommend this.

This game harkens back to when Square received worldwide favor for their quality graphics, music and story telling in their games. Live A Live (rhymes with hive) proves Square has the potential to bring their old school SNES era JRPG’s into the spotlight for gamers that may have missed out to enjoy. You get to choose the order you play each short story that focuses on a particular character. Each character is unique and complete with their own personality as well as moveset. Without spoiling the story, everything coalesces into a very memorable and unique story about saving the world from evil. If you enjoy JRPG’s with solid music, writing and gameplay then you need to play Live A Live.

The HD-2D art style is gorgeous, the music is memorable, and the storytelling is surprisingly bold for a game that originally came from the 1990s. It’s quirky, creative, and refreshingly unpredictable—proof that sometimes the most fun RPGs are the ones brave enough to break the rules.

This is a awesome role-playing game that is brought to the west finally and translated. This was originally on the super Famicom system but never brought to the west. You now have eight characters to choose from including two new characters that were added. So you have eight stories to play through which comes together in one way or another. The music is awesome, the graphics are what you expect HD retro graphics, In the battle system is also easy to pick up at. If you love role-playing games this is one game you don’t wanna miss out on.

Excellent game, fun visual style, nostalgic gameplay, and a unique concept. Great story and a lot of fun to play. Must play for JRPG fans.

It’s a fun and quirky game. Can’t go wrong with this JRPG if you like pixel art. Gameplay is great but does take some getting used to in battle gameplay. Lots of options.

For me, it's a must-play. The game is broken into multiple chapters that are essentially their own stories. The writing in the story is brilliant. I'm not a big fan of JRPG games with the turn-based gameplay but this game has me hooked. I highly recommend everyone gives it a shot.

This is a great HD-2D remake from Square Enix. This is the first time this game gets released in the USA. It originally came out in the 90s Japan only. Must have for physical game collection. This is a JRPG. Really fun game for 16 bit fans.

Live a live is an amazing rpg. You get to play through different eras of time. And each different era has different play styles and mechanics. The artstyle is from the snes era of 16bit gaming. Fun game with a great story.

I'm a avid RPG fan but this surpassed my expectation that I won't spoil the stories but you have to play yourself to find out. This has multiple story line to complete and they are not repetitive like majority of the RPG out now. Each one is unique than the previous making you want to finish it rather than putting it down. Looks even better on the OLED switch.

Fantastic game that revitalizes a classic that was unfortunately never released outside of Japan. The voice acting is good, the graphics are stunning. One of the best games of 2022

I have been a fan of these HD-2D games coming out, so I had to try this one out and it blew me away. It is one of the most unique RPG experiences I have ever played.

Beautiful HD-2D remake of a SNES classic never before released outside of Japan. If you love classic turnbased RPGs this is a must buy. Demo in Nintendo eshop.
