    Great sounding and looks great!

I wasn’t really seriously looking at upgrading my soundbar until I saw the Heston 120. I had visited a local A/V installer who had the Sonos and Klipsch lines, but couldn’t justify spending the money on them. Once I saw the classic Marshall styling of their soundbar, I was hooked and had to give it a try! I’m so glad I did, this thing is awesome! I didn’t opt to get the sub yet, in my opinion it sounds great without it and has plenty of bass output on its own. My only regret is that I didn’t buy it earlier.

    Classy design meets premium sound

It looks like Marshall has decided to enter the premium and high-end soundbar race. The packaging immediately indicates how Marshall puts a lot of attention to the small details. The Marshall Heston 120 soundbar features a sleek, heritage-inspired design, making it a gorgeous and stylish addition to my home setup. Its design is unique, wrapped in leather-like textures and finished with classic gold tactile brass knobs that feel sturdy and classy. In terms of weight, it is quite heavy, but the build quality fully justifies it. To me, this is a complete audio system for my movie and music needs. The Heston 120 is a 5.1.2-channel with Dolby Atmos that delivers immersive, room-filling audio experience without the need for additional speakers. It includes HDMI eARC, along with one extra HDMI input for a console or streaming device. It also features an RCA input, which is great for connecting a turntable or other older audio devices which is a plus. There’s also an Ethernet port for a stable internet connection. I use a similar soundbar with comparable connectivity, but it lacks key features like Ethernet and RCA inputs. I really appreciate Marshall including these, as they offer more options that might be necessary in some scenarios. The setup was straightforward. I downloaded the Marshall app on my iPhone and quickly followed the on-screen prompts to add, control, and customize the soundbar. I connected my TV via HDMI eARC and my turntable through RCA, and everything worked flawlessly. Overall, setup was a breeze and the soundbar looks classy. The soundbar supports Wi-Fi 6 for streaming through AirPlay, Chromecast, Spotify, and TIDAL, allowing music to be played without using a TV. It also includes Bluetooth 5.3, making it easy to stream music from smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Watching movies and listening to music on this soundbar was a great experience. The sound is clean and detailed, especially for vocals and dialogue. I was able to hear conversations easily due to the clarity. The spatial audio powered by Dolby Atmos created a true immersive experience enabled me to hear effects coming from all around me. Overall, the Marshall Heston 120 is an all-in-one audio solution for both TV and music. I liked its design that is classy, and the build quality is excellent. One drawback is the absence of a physical remote control. While most controls are available directly on the unit and through the Marshall app, having a dedicated remote control would have been a welcome addition. Other than that, this soundbar is worth owing.

    Outstanding Sound & Craftsmanship

I have spent over a week daily listening to the Marshall Heston 120 to confidently say it's one of the most character-rich and satisfying soundbars i've added to my Home Setup. Marshall has always had a reputation for blending vintage rock-and-roll aesthetics with modern audio engineering, but the Heston120 takes that formula and pushes it into a more refined, room-filling direction. This review is based on real daily use so i have put it thru it all: 🎸Desing&Built quality: A modern polished speaker with it's classic Marshall DNA- The Heston 120 with it's textured vinyl, the iconic script logo, the brass-style knobs and the woven grille all come together to create a speaker that looks like a piece of gear. It's the kind of speaker that adds personality to the space and the guest notice immediately. 🔊 Sound Quality: Warm, punchy and full of character -The Heston 120 delivers a signature sound and that's exactly why it's so enjoyable. It would get loud and not just “party loud,” but “fills the entire floor of your house” loud. And it does it without distortion. The sound disperses evenly, so you don’t get that narrow sweet spot effect. Whether you’re sitting directly in front of it or off to the side, the audio stays balanced. 📺Performance with Movies&Tv: One of the biggest surprises was when i discovered how well it delivers a cinematic presence that many compact soundbars struggle to match. If you are someone who wants better TV audio without committing to a full home theater system, this speaker can absolutely carry the load. 🎤My Final Verdict: More than just another speaker, this is a statement piece with real audi performance behind it. It blends style, power and warmth in a way that few speakers in this cattegory manage to achieve. If you appreciate rich, character‑driven sound and want something that looks as good as it performs, this is an easy recommendation.

Awesome sound quality with a bit of nostalgia

The Marshall sound bar offers superb sound quality out of a very vintage style amp that you may of grown up with. With Marshalls track record of producing nothing less than picture perfect sounds, you can expect your entertainment area to sound more like a moving theater with less drone. Out of the box you can tell that Marshall held nothing back in the way of quality. This unit has some weight to it and the three bass, treble and sound buttons have a really nice brass finish to them that you would expect to see on a typical Marshall amp. One thing to take note of that i noticed right away is the lack of remote to control your volume. You have a few choices to accomplish your desired settings. You can download the free app and through that control your different settings and adjust the volume. You can use the dedicated dials that come on the unit or you can set up your three preset buttons this way you can switch between settings depending on what your current night brings. Through the app you have few different presets that work pretty well based on your desired effect. I found night mode to be one of the best settings as it tends to limit bass output so that you don't blow out the walls during high action scenes at 10pm all while still maintaining a very full vibrant sound quality by allowing vocals and your mids to come through unhindered. Once the app is set up it will then perform a calibration sweep where it will attempt to get a feel for the layout of your current room and adjust sound output accordingly. While im very familiar with Marshall amps, as i have spent several years fooling around with my garage band, i wasn't too sure how it would sound in a movie style setting. The Marshall Henston 120 came through with flying colors and filled the room evenly with no sounds over powering the other. When watching Movies like Lord of the Rings the high action output bass complemented the rest of the scene all without drowning out vocals. But was more impressive is how full it made the room sound. I have personally never been impressed with sound bars as to me they seem like the easy route to take for those looking to set up a surround style home entertainment system and never truly fill the room. Soundbars always feel like they are lacking and never deliver that full punch. Either vocals are too low or bass is too high and they never seem to be dispersed evenly throughout the room. That is not the case here at all. The placement of the speakers and the power output of the drivers made me feel like i had speakers in all corners of the house and made watching my favorite sporting events insane. I understand this set up in not cheap by far so the bottom line is this, is this set up like a typical soundbar? Yes, if you have owned soundbars in the past then all this is going to seem familiar. But are you looking for the most minimalistic approach to setting up a surround system to fill the room all without having to run wires and drill holes? Are you looking for a astatically pleasing set up with a touch of nostalgia? Then this is a must have for the audiophile out there looking for the best sound quality for their buck. This is a premium set up that will not disappoint.

    The rockstar of soundbars

The new Marshall Heston 120 soundbar appears to transform a rock band’s stage speaker into a striking addition to an home theater speaker for those looking to incorporate some concert nostalgia into their TV watching experience. Right out of the box you immediately recognize how the soundbar blends Marshall’s iconic "salt and pepper" fret grille, faux-leather wrapped cabinet, and a massive brass logo into an all-in-one surround speaker. The Heston features weighted, knurled brass knobs on top for volume, bass, treble and source inputs and push button presets and sound modes that combine to feel like adjusting a vintage guitar amp. It is relatively large for a soundbar measuring approximately 43” wide and just under 6” deep so double check you have the space for it. After downloading the Marshall smart phone application, setup was self-explanatory requiring minimal reference to instructions and using the HDMI eARC connection connected to my compatible television. The app also calibrated the speaker in the area I had it setup in using rock inspired audio tones. I began testing the speaker by casting music from my phone. Even with the volume turned up close to 100%, which was extremely loud, the sound was clear with deep notes. Although the soundbar was designed as a soundbar for your television, it still holds its ground in the music department. I switched over to some live sports followed by an action movie and enjoyed an immersive experience with loud, clear sound surrounding me thanks to the technology built into the soundbar. The Heston 120 soundbar features the latest technology, including Dolby Atmos support, delivering an incredible audio experience producing loud, deep and crisp sound in all directions amplifying all the movies, music, and games you can throw at it. The built-in subwoofer adds a punchy low-end, ensuring you get room-filling bass without the need for extra, separate equipment. It uses 11 active drivers powered by dedicated Class D amplifiers, delivering a peak output of 150W. Two rear-facing 5-inch woofers and four passive radiators handle the low end down to a booming 40Hz. The soundbar offers a variety of connection options, including an HDMI eARC, second HDMI 2.1 supporting 4K passthrough, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C output, rare “old-school” RCA inputs and Wi-Fi 6 for wireless streaming. It does NOT include a remote control however you can use the smart phone application or the remote you use with a compatible TV to adjust the volume. There is an option to add a separate subwoofer however I didn’t think that was needed considering how loud and deep the bass already was. The Marshall Heston 120 soundbar was clearly designed and developed with audiophiles, like myself, in mind who understand the premium price is a result of the premium build quality, new technology, and the convenience of a built-in subwoofer. It is a great option for those seeking both performance and vintage inspired style in their audio gear and would recommend it to anyone in the market at this price point.
