MaXXXine - DVD

MaXXXine (2024) written, directed, produced and edited by Ti West. It is the third installment in West's X film series and a direct sequel to X (2022). The film stars Mia Goth, who reprises her role as Maxine Minx, alongside Elizabeth Debicki, and Kevin Bacon. In the film, Maxine sets out for fame and success in 1980s Hollywood while being targeted by a mysterious killer.

An all-female helmed horror anthology featuring four dark tales written and directed by fiercely talented women Annie Clark rocks her directorial debut with THE BIRTHDAY PARTY; Karyn Kusama (THE INVITATION, GIRLFIGHT) exorcises HER ONLY LIVING SON; Roxanne Benjamin (SOUTHBOUND) screams DON't FALL; and Jovanka Vuckovic (THE CAPTURED BIRD) dares to open THE BOX. Award-winning animator Sofia Carrillo (LA CASA TRISTE) wraps together four suspenseful stories of terror featuring a cast including Natalie Brown, Melanie Lynskey, Breeda Wool and Christina Kirk.

Way back in 1979, aspiring porn actress Maxine Minx (Mia Goth) headed out on a shoot with a few castmates and crew to an isolated farmhouse deep in the heart of Texas. Elderly landowners Howard (Stephen Ure) and Pearl (Goth, again) seemed surprisingly accommodating-but in the course of one violent night, the deranged couple would be demanding final cut. Ti West's acclaimed throwback shocker also stars Jenna Ortega, Kid Cudi, Brittany Snow, Martin Henderson, Owen Campbell. 106 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.
