After seeing its 4 star review I'm extremely happy with this washing machine. When I checked consumer reports about this machine it received a very low rating and I became a bit leary until I realized all the complaints were from people who don't know how to read the instructions on using this washer! Its It's a high efficiency machine and "he products" are necessary for it to work at its optimum level. I read complaints about white streaks from detergent were left after doing a load of laundry. If you read the instructions it clearly stated to use high efficiency detergent as its low sudsing. Those that complained I'm sure used regular detergent which would account for the white streaks as it uses minimal water and there high sudsing detergent would produce that undesirable effect. Also when people complained about the washer shaking to much and being too loud. If you read the instructions on how to load the drum properly you'll have a minimal shaking during spin cycles. As far as it being loud, I found it to be no louder than any machine I've every had. I do have it in my basement so the sound is minimal so if you have it on the same level where you happen to live and hearing the slightest noise bothers you I suggest you spend 4x the amount of $$ that this machine costs and I'm sure it might be a bit quieter. All in all a great bang for the buck and I would recommend this washing machine to anyone.

Agree it's noisy during draining, washing, and cycle changes but it cleans clothes well. Clothes do look whiter and brighter. Good purchase. Name brand. I replaced a Samsung that had bells and whistles. I'm over that hype. Plus on sale I got a great deal. And I'm a picky, thrifty shopper.

I bought this because I don't like front load washers. Also because it can handle a queen size comforter without any issue. It is a great value and does a great job cleaning all my laundry. I absolutely love that it autosenses how much water it needs to make my laundry clean. I had it delivered by Best Buy and the technicians did a great job and were professional and friendly. I purchased the warranty as well. I bought the matching dryer as well and equally happy with it as well.

I've seen other reviews of people saying how noisy this washer is. I have to whole heartedly disagree!! I don't know if others have been spoiled with the fancy machines they have out today or what but I don't think it's noisy at all. The only "loud" noise it makes is when the water shuts off or turns on and it's not even that loud. My old washer was 13 years old and it was the cheapest model they had back then. It had the big old agitator in the middle, a considerably smaller drum then this one and was so loud that it sounded like it was coming through the floor (our machines are upstairs) This new Maytag washer I can't even hear it! We just had it installed Nov.30th so I'm still getting use to it and I find myself yelling upstairs to my husband to see if the washer is even running when it's suppose to be. I love that it senses the load and puts in the perfect about of water. No more wasting water that the washer doesn't even need. My clothes come out clean and I can fit so many more clothes in this washer! I'm still amazed with it! Very happy with my purchase!

Easy to program. It washes great. Its a lil bit more noise than a luxury one, but not a big deal.

I purchased this washer not even a year ago. First washer I received, I had to return becouse it was leaking water. The second washer was fine until a few days ago, when I heard a loud noise as it was in the spinning mode. A sofa pillow got caught on something in the washer and it even tore the pillow. It was until later I notice a piece of plastic dangling from the rim of the washer. Now I am in the process of contacting the manufacturer for replacement before the warranty expires.

It takes time getting used to a Hi-Eff clothes washer - less water, less detergent. Read all instructions carefully. Take clothes from washer right when wash is done (lots less wrinkles). Use dryer sheets (lots less wrinkles). Use “he” detergent. After doing 8 loads I have decided I like it. I love the see-thru lid. The only negative is that it does not spin dry the clothes as dry as my old agitator machine.

Love the class top and holds larger loads. Fits nicely in our space.

This washer would receive 5 stars if it weren't for the lid! We have gone through two lids so far and it's not even because the glass broke! The hinges are so strong that they eventually crack and break through the plastic that encases them. This leads to the washer no longer functioning, due to the fact that the lid must be securely closed and able to lock in order for it to operate. Maytag paid for the replacement lid, but we had to pay for the labor costs. Now, about six months after its replacement, we're going to have to do it again. So, not only did we spend over $700 on this washer, but we have to spend over $100 each time they replace the lid...it's not worth it! Find one with a metal lid and steer clear of this lemon!

This washer is really cool ! I like it a lot. Lots of wash settings and is very large. Like being able to see inside the washer with the window on top. (wipe water spots off occasionally so view stays clear) It uses minimal water which is a very good thing. We have had it for about 4 months and use it for about 6 loads per week. Washes all the sheets from king size easily in one load. All our towels for the week in one load. Our queen size sleeping bag easily too in one load. Delicates cycle works very nice, even though it doesn't look or sound like it is being delicate, no problems at all with those items. Clothes are clean and don't tangle up like in a regular washer. It is noisy though. So my husband, who is so freakin'sensitive to any noises, sounds, this washer drives him nuts. Since it doesn't have the traditional agitator the way it cleans the clothes makes a kind of grrring sound as it turns the tub back and forth, that is not steady. I like it actually. However, the braking system for the spin cycle is a bit loud and very weird and sounds like something is very wrong. Called out service and he said all is right. So close the laundry door and turn up the tunes and all is good.

Read tons of review before buying, was skeptical but still bought and glad! With glass top it is interesting to see how it works. Used to old center spindle but this one doesn't have one but still seems to clean everything. Have only done 3 loads but all came out clean & not soaking wet like others said. Read page that tells you what to set things at per what you are washing. 1 load i did was a king blanket (with other stuff) & came out clean, completely wet & was spun dry. It's a little noisier than old style but not much & uses tons less water can't wait for water bill.

I love this washer. This model came in a home I purchased and later sold and the washer conveyed. The new home we moved into had a different brand washer that was poor performing. I quickly replaced it with this model because I had loved it so much In the other home. I agree with other reviewers that it does make strange and sometimes loud noises but they don’t bother me since it is downstairs and the pros of the washer outweigh the noise in my opinion. If the washer will be in close proximity to sleeping quarters one may want to consider a different machine. The things I like about this machine is that it will wash a king size mattress pad or quilt without a problem. It also does really well with large loads of beach towels without getting off balance as long as you equally distribute them when you load them. I also like the ease of the buttons and the choices of loads, etc. i like that it has round dials and not a bunch of digital buttons, etc. I that it washes more in a load since it doesn’t have the traditional middle agitator and seems to be easier on your clothes without it.

I read the reviews for this washer and some people complained about it being loud and unless you're sitting in the room with it, the noise isn't an issue. I love that it uses less water, which means I use less detergent. The clothes are cleaner and smell fresh. The tub is large enough that I can throw two large dog beds in the machine with no problem. So happy with my purchase.

The low water-level washing process is much different from what we're all accustomed to. That said, it cleans clothes very well. Be sure to use the correct amount of detergent or you'll have detergent residue on the clothing at the end of the cycle. Recommend turning garments inside out, especially when an item like a shirt or t-shirt has ornamentation or a plastic tag on it. Had a t-short, with a Major League Baseball tag on it, ripped by the small agitator. Hasn't happened again since that first incident.

Pros: Washes very well Fast in going through a cycle Simple yet very complete controls Huge capacity 10 year warranty Made in America Uses less water than others Super fast spin = dryer clothes = less dryer usage Cons: Could be a little quieter. Washes as well or better than my previous Maytag with an agitator (that, by the way, lasted 17 years, so we bought another Maytag). We thought that without an agitator this machine wouldn't do the job, but we were wrong. Probably the repetitive stop and start noise, although not loud, is more annoying than a constant louder noise. But closing the laundry room door does the trick.

Read a lot of reviews about the HE washers not washing well, not getting all the clothes wet, or leaving residue behind after the rinse cycle. I haven’t experienced any of those issues. There are times when there are clothes not fully submerged but the bottom agitator pulls things down around and up and back down and so on. Hence, the HE. I’ve washed everything one typically washes in a family w kids and have had no problems. It cleans and it does it pretty quickly, opposite of reviews I read. It’s no louder than my previous washer, but makes different sounds than the the previous one. Again, different washing method. 2 things I’m not real pleased with; 1. When using hot water the steam comes out the back of the top and coats the area with the controls. I don’t see this causing any issues but makes keeping that area clean a pain. 2. The spin cycle leaves something to be desired. The clothes are much more damp than my previous washer. I’d much rather have an additional spin option instead of the additional rinse as my last washer did. Lastly, if you look at the whirlpool, Ge, and Maytag models at this price point, they are the same machines w different looks. I paid extra for the Maytag branded unit because I wanted the clear top. A month later I’m still looking in there and don’t regret it. If you don’t care, save the money and get the same unit by one of the others for less. Would have given 5 stars if spin was better but it’s sufficient.

Our 20 year old agitator washer died and we were forced to replace it. It found this Maytag on sale at Best Buy and checked it out. The user ratings were very good for the price and features. The appliance sales associate was very knowledgeable, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. To be honest, I like the machine, but we're still getting used to this new HE technology. I LOVE its larger capacity, which allows us to do blankets and bedspreads, which we could never do at home. It seems to do a very good job at cleaning and is quieter than our old washer. It also has many more cycles, water temps and other features that we've never had before. My one major complaint is that our clothes tend to be more wrinkled when they come out, even after drying. I believe it's the nature of this new technology. It is still a great washer.

We replaced a 15+ year old machine with this one. I've only had it a month or so, but so far I am very happy. It's HUGE but only uses the minimum level of water to the clothes you put in. It seems well made, seems efficient, and isn't overly noisy (not overly quiet either, but I have heard worse). Maybe because our old machine was so old, but I'm agog at how big it is -- I could easily fit comforters, etc. in there. It has plenty of options (more than I will probably ever use) but isn't overly complicated. So far I am quite happy with this choice.

I love the large capacity of this washer and the various wash cycles. Although if you haven't ever owned or used a H E Washer it takes time to get use to the low water level. Also on large/bulky loads the spin cycle and the vibration is a bit load. Plus side, it spins most of the water out so you don't have to dry as long.

While getting used to this machine isn't easy, it is easy to use. The family would like to see more water in the machine overall. I like all the setting options and the clothes seem to be clean. It definitely holds more per wash than our old machine and so that I can wash less frequently.
