This kit is designed to fit a lot of different cars. My particular install was in a 1996 Geo Tracker. In addition to the kit manual's instructions for trimming un-needed tabs, I had to cut about 3/16'" off the bottom of the kit as well as the tabs on top so that it would fit properly. When installing, I also had to use a couple washers on the top mounts in order for the dash bezel to fit properly when it was installed. I don't think it takes too much away from the kit, as it still fits very good, and by using the ISO DIN mount option, the radio sits flush. The pocket is a nice touch and is used to hold my phone and a pen or two. The only negative, and will only come in to play is when removing the radio, is that the ISO DIN brackets snap in to the kit, but not that well. It's very easy to pop the radio out with just pressure and not having to squeeze the clips.

these kits could use closer tolerances. after installing the kit and radio, there was a gap(as w/ any of these kits) between the dash and front of the kit. easy fix though: simply pry off the screw hole pieces from the parts you dont use and use them as spacers where the screws go into the dash. i used probably three on each screw and it was enough to close the gaps. also be sure that you raise the kit up before tightening down the screws so there isnt a gap at the top.

I'm a fairly adept home mechanic and have installed numerous after-market stereos. I had major problems with this kit when I tried to install it in my 2000 Buick Century Custom: 1. The main piece that supports the radio - the very badly written instructions call it the "radio housing with pocket" - is extremely flimsy. It has tabs on either side of the front that are supposed to be where the screws mount the kit - with radio inside - to the car. The tab on the right side is connected to the rest it by a paper-thin line of plastic. It immediately bent along this line with I tried to mount it, making the entire kit useless. I have no idea why the manufacturer did not make the left and right tabs the same; the left one is much better. See the attached photos. 2. There is zero support for the rear of the radio, so if you are lucky enough to install it without breaking the above-mentioned right tab, the radio hangs only by these tabs. I have no doubt that after a short amount of time, the rear of the radio would sag. 3. As noted above, the instructions are very poorly written and the diagrams are hard to decipher. This unit was cheap in both senses of the word so I'm not going to waste more of my time by returning it. I will be searching for an alternative.

not a top of the line Ferrari quality kit but fit clean and smooth, easy use, and look s pretty stock in the car, and you gain a little more storage in the dash.

This kit made installation very easy. It allowed the aftermarket radio to look factory installed

I knew going in that I would need some kind of adaptor kit because of the enormity of the factory unit I was replacing. After reading a few online reviews, this is the unit I selected. The price and ready availability were very helpful and it really makes the new stereo look like a factory installation. The directions were simple and detailed. Installation was quick and easy. All the parts you need and extras included.

I bought this kit to use with an aftermarket double din head unit I installed in my 2004 Pontiac Grand AM GT w/Monsoon. It worked quite well although it took a little finagling to get it just right because these kits are designed for multiple applications in many different vehicles. It worked though and the finished result is totally professional. If you need this part for your install, just buy it. It's the one you need for a professionally done job!

This item is usable for a large variety of vehicles, which I believe is why BestBuy chose to stock this specific item. Metro makes a double din specific dash kit, which is slightly cheaper and does not require any trimming which would have been nice. With that said, this unit works just fine.

This installation kit works as advertised. The only draw back but not a deal breaker is that you have to use a box knife to modify it depending on the configuration that you need for installation. I do recommend watching some videos online if you run into problems.

It comes with screws (to screw onto receiver NOT onto dash), and installation instruction booklet WITH pictures for MANY makes and models. The plastic is what you'd see with many cars with custom receivers as its one of the cheapest and best options out there, METRA, can almost never go wrong with METRA. It might look ugly because it tells you to cut off excess plastic with a utility knife (it cuts off very easy) might seem kinda jerry rigged but it'll work if you sand the excess plastic to even it out, and it doesn't look scratched or ugly after you sand it and wipe it with a wet paper towel, it looks even.

Made my installation so easy and saved time looks great

Comes with all you need to install it into a lot of different GM vehicles. It would have been nice if the center divider was able to snap clean off without being noticeable in the textured surrounding surface.

At first I was unhappy with the expense of this installation kit that came as part of the install. But, it fits well and the extra shelf is nice for a cell phone connected to my new deck.

The Metra - Installation Kit for Select 1995-2008 GM Vehicles - Black was used by the Geek Squad for my receiver installation. Installation was was flawless and the kit makes a great appearance.

Geek squad actually installed this, but it was a direct plug in and allowed the new stereo to be installed without cutting the factory wiring. Great fit!

This was used in the installation of my Kenwood radio by Geek Squad. It works just how I wanted it to work so I'm happy with the entire installation. Everything looks great and sounds great.
