Metroid is a underated game. Love Metroidvanias. Beautiful game with great controls with a decent amount of difficulty.

Got this game as a gift and couldn’t recommend it enough. Brings Metroid back to its 2D roots but on a horrifying way. Be prepared to feel dread as the EMMIS chase you. Truly one of the funnest 2D platformers of all time.

Awesome side-scrolling action. Challenging at times but still fun. A good mix of exploration and cool boss fights. Definitely worth it for a Metroid fan or anyone looking for a good side-scroller. There is a lot to like about this game. My one criticism would be a lack of direction for the player. It can take a bit to learn where the next objective is sometimes. Still a good time though and would recommend as a buy.

When this game was first announced I wasn't interested at all. But I got caught up in the hype of Nintendo advertising and bought it. This is my first metroid game I am super bad at this game but I'm having the best time!! Yes, I've probably seen the game over screen 40+ times but I don't care! It's soo addictive I can't stop playing. It's so rewarding after you beat a boss or get rewarded for exploring. If you're on the fence about playing jump on over and get into Metroid Dread NOW! Totally worth $60 for me!! I even bought the collector's edition and amiibo.

Metroid will forever hold a place in my heart since the very beginning! This game holds true to the orginal Metroid franchise while introducing some fun new game mechanics, yet overall still fresh for a old game franchise!

Being completely honest, I did not finish Dread. I kept telling myself I would consider going back in and trying to give it an honest shot, but the EMMIs were more annoying than I cared for. They felt like an arbitrary roadblock which was designed to extend gameplay time than an actual threat. Getting caught never really feels like your fault, and all it ends up doing is leaving a sour taste in your mouth which results in you considering taking a short break, which becomes a long break, which results in you never returning to the game. More than a little disappointing.

Challenging yet rewarding experience, Samus plays like a dream.

This game is incredible. It's challenging, but you feel so cathartic when you figure out puzzles and boss battles. Very addictive.
