Decent value if you can DIY some steps

This computer is working well now, but took a little effort to get it there. It was running a very outdated version of windows and wouldn't run updates so I had to do a manual install. Tech support over the phone was useless-- they wanted me to drive it to the nearest store which is quite far from me, and the 30-day return deadline coupled with their spotty appointment availability was too tight for me to be able to make the trip.
