About this product
2023 marks the 25th anniversary of this ! The mid-'90s were an interesting time in Seattle. The city had just experienced it's brief period in the rock n roll limelight, but it was still a lonely outpost in a largely ignored corner of the United States. Touring bands were reluctant to make the trek up from San Francisco, or across the mountains from Denver, or from across the Great Plains from Minneapolis. There were barely any all-ages venues to play in town. Bands like Modest Mouse and 764-Hero helped fill the rainy void with a relentless schedule of writing and playing out. That creative thirst and no-one's-watching mentality prompted a lot of artistic exploration and experimentation, a phenomenon best captured on the collaborative single InchWhenever You See Fit.Inch Marrying Modest Mouse's jagged blowouts with 764-Hero's pensive songwriting, the track slowly came together over the course of a tour together, with the bands taking the stage together nightly and dueling over a few fleshed-out chords. The resulting 15-minute marriage of sparse pop and guitar sturm-and-drang perfectly captured the wistful artistry and punk turbulence of Northwest indie rock at the close of the century. Suicide Squeeze is proud to offer a 25th Anniversary vinyl repress of InchWhenever You See FitInch with updated artwork by esteemed designer Jesse LeDoux. The 12Inch single-also featuring remixes by DJ Dynomite D and Sientific American on side B-is limited to 1000 copies on evergreen color vinyl, pressed at 45 RPM, and includes a download coupon. Album Tracks 1. Whenever You See Fit 2. Whenever You See Fit (DJ Dynomite D Mix) 3. Whenever You See Fit (Sientific American Mix)

![Jimmy Bennington - Midnight Choir - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/823858d9-a0a7-4837-be77-015150c014be.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
Harkening back to the '60's recordings of Archie Shepp, John Coltrane and others in the free Jazz vanguard of the time, Jimmy Bennington and his Midnight Choir band pay tribute to those and to his mentor, Elvin Jones (Bennington was Mr. Jones' road manager and drum tech for several years). Raised in Detroit and Houston, Bennington's music resides in the rich musical heritage of the Texas free music camp (Ornette Coleman, Dewey Redman), and the fertile music school of Detroit's Jazz clubs. Matching headstrong urgency against tender lyricism, this CD opens new territory, revealing a stormy, eerily beautiful musical world where they and their listeners seem remarkably at home. Album Tracks 1. The Mind - Seth Paynter 2. Two Fascinations - Seth Paynter 3. Street of Loneliness - Albert Mangelsdorff 4. Equinox - John Coltrane 5. Ganges - Seth Paynter 6. Malcom Pinson! - Jimmy Bennington 7. What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life? - Michel Legrande

Vinyl LP pressing. Modest Mouse was originally formed in 1993 in Issaquah, WA and over the last two decades has become the indie rock standard and one of the few bands capable of treading the narrow path where massive popularity is possible without sacrificing their longtime fans. Night On the Sun is a limited run Japan-only EP Modest Mouse recorded in January 1999 at Jupiter Studio with Phil Ek and originally released on CD the same year. All of these songs are different versions from those found on subsequent full-length releases The Moon & Antarctica (2000) and Everywhere And His Nasty Parlour Tricks (2001). The versions on Night On The Sun are generally longer. Album Tracks 1. Night on the Sun 2. You're the Good Things (It's Alright to Die) 3. Wild Packs of Family Dogs 4. Dark Center of the Universe 5.
